The PLM is like a lens that accidentally was priced at the wrong bracket given the focus speed and IQ. I'm going to do another video at infinity focus since the comments have stated that it will make a difference. I don't think it will, but we'll see. Thanks for the shout-out and I'm looking forward to your full review! 🙂

Does the infinity focus pan out?

I’ve got a Pentax k-3 I and a mix of Pentax DA, Tamron, Rokinon, and Signa HSM lenses. Of all of them the Sigma is my favorite brand hands down

Thank you so much for your great reviews! I'm wondering how a Pentax 55-300mm PLM lens will behave with a Pentax K-1 Mark II camera?

Oh man, these chromatic abbreviations made my day! I was laughing so hard, I had to rewatch the video. RGB could be one of those CA's! ;-))

Tamron lens is a very old, that is actually 1st generation of Tamron digital lenses. Those lenses had fastest aperture for the marketing purposes only. Please give us comparisons with the same focal length and the same aperture. If 55-300 is f/6.3 wide open at 300mm than compare both lenses at 300mm f/6.3. From my experience with other Tamron lenses of that generation, 1/3 of a stop could be a big difference in sharpness, contrast and CAs.

I found I would always shoot the Tamron at f/8 at 300mm for the best IQ. Thanks for watching

Would you keep the PLM when you have sold the K-70 and have the K-1 ii?

Actually didn't end up selling the K-70 but I have a K-1 II coming so videos to come. Tests with the PLM with it. Thanks for watching
