As a Canadian I went through 2 hurricanes while staying in rural Jamaica and I will never forget the life lessons I learned from the experience. Jamaicans are resilient and God fearing people. They understand that life is the greatest not material possessions.

Is this comment really necessary at this time? Hurricane season never starts this early, so they we're being vigilent. We have just survived the hurricane in Grenada. Our sister island is devastated, and friends lost everything. Be grateful and have compassion, not blame.
I don't care. If they'd be smart and vigilant, people would've never visited those areas from the start. Yes, Most Hurricanes Usually start during the Month of August but It's Hurricane season from June 1st-November 30th so, Those vacationing in areas that get hit by Hurricanes during hurricane season should expect to get hit by A hurricane during that time. Those that had put up with it during a Vacation that they shouldn't have planned at all during this timeframe are not making a smart decision. They're the ones who are putting themselves in the paths of these storms.
