Gaming for me @ 33 is much different than at 16 yrs old .
At 16 all I played was call of duty with my sensitivity turned to 10 and going around quick scoping ppl to death .
Now , I stay far away from these type of games because I just don’t have the patience to keep up with ppl anymore .
The speed /skill level of these newer gamers is just absolutely unreal and I tip my hat to them for being that good at the games today .
I’ve just gravitated towards more single player , RPGs, and slower paced shooters .
Nothing wrong with these types of games but it personally isn’t for me is all. Everyone enjoy what ya like
Buddy, I'm going to be 44 in December. I remember winning a LAN in Unreal Tournament in the early 2000s. Now I can't rank up past the average rank in any FPS. Father Time is undefeated.
Finally someone who decency, bro doesnt play these games but doesnt bother to go on a rant, yapping about how players are ruining the game because of how good they are, but i have to tell you most of these newer games arent even that complex, the people complaining about it probably play off-line singleplayer games on easy and dont have the attention span to learn how the game works, for some reason aiming isnt a big skill gap in these games, because of how good aim assist has gotten but everything else has become one, like movement and positioning

I also don't understand this seeth for "sweats", just cause some players try to adapt and raise their skill by utilizing all advantages the game has to offer. Games are about being engaging, if you wanna shut your brain off in a shooter- just play Far Cry or Ghost Eecon or something.

Sweats only think that every game should be made for sweats & play like doom guy on ultra rage mode. They will never consider that majority of the player base are just casual players who just want something simpler & for that reason only games with simple movement mechanics like CS or Valorant has such a huge player base.
Those game are fun, but they're too slow for me. That's also why I think it's more casual imo.
Also casuals want every game to be easy and water the game down from what it was so it's easier for ppl to that don't really play to be able to compete with the sweats or veterans

I spoke positive about both those titles and got absolutely destroyed for doing so. In reality my channel would have been massive if I kept farming engagement back with MW 2019 and Cold War. Yeah I always found that strange. The whole fun factor of playing the game is trying all the weapons, seeing what attachments and perks work best for your playstyle. Now everyone just rushes to the same gun and setup 🤦♂️

Nowadays video games serve as a compensatory activity for deflated egos. "Pros" and youtube destroyed gaming culture, and the result is battlepasses, FOMO, and META-maxxing. I loved COD, I was 10 when MW came out (the original), by BO4 I was done saying "what's happening" and moved on from FPS' that didnt fit the battlefield model.
You nailed it. “Lazy” I have said this for awhile. People have zero attention span (need constant new things to ‘grind’ for), zero patience (can’t wait for updates), and they are lazy.

I don’t think it’s lazy, I think not everyone has time to enjoy a game like this but can’t compete with individuals who play videogames for a living…. A lot of people don’t play like they used to and honestly it’s got to the point to where some individuals are so good at a game that it’s just discouraging to play the game when you know you’re not going to enjoy the game and have a fun time. Back then the servers for cod and halo were different and you weren’t ever matched with the top 1% in the world. You were matched with the top 1% in your region. And I think that shows the difference in gaming today vs then and it kind of takes away wanting to play these games because it really is about making a name and being the best in the world for a lot of these gamers vs just enjoying a game. It’s not splitgate or the games. It’s the people and the corporations behind it. So I don’t blame individuals like this for feeling the way they do. I blame the culture behind it and how toxic it has become…. That’s why a lot of individuals have hopped on the dark souls train or just games similar bc it still gives a challenge to play the game but you aren’t going to put up with other people playing against you unless you do pvp. That’s why I think destiny nailed it back in the day introducing everything for everybody so if you did suck at PvP you can do tons of pve that was just as much if not more challenging. Plus not every one has setups like majority of “elite” gamers spending their time into playing videogames so there’s slight edges in competition and trying to grow in certain videogames. If anything we truly need a discussion board for casuals who work jobs so we can have true discussions over issues with a game versus a bunch of pros saying this game is great while cheesing a whole lobby. I think it would be considered portal spamming too in splitgate if you are able to shoot portal after portal and maybe a 2 to 3 second hold in between portals could fix it too but who knows.

No it's because false gaming sweats abuse everything to get a unfair advantage, play bo4 or iw or even mw 2019, sweats abuse the same thing over and over. I know what a good player looks like and I have gone toe to toe with then, heck I found one in xdefiant one time and it was the best match I had in years, we both used underpowered weapons but we didn't abuse movement, I lost but it was fun. If you have to depend on the same meta weapons or abusing movement to win, you just suck at the game.

using is just that, using it, in mw 2019, i used the r9 shotgun (before garbage youtubers abused it) i experemented with it and found that it suit me the best, that is using. plus using is just that, using it, sometimes you might want to use a ar in one match, or a shotgun in the next.

They get those animations smoothed out and I have no complaints really. Also they should add scoreboard indicators for premades. That's actually my biggest issue as a solo player now.

When im playing fps games like cod, xdefiant, and battlefield. Literally it’s the best when both teams just suddenly are even ground, it’s rare but goddamn, it’s so peak when both teams are bodying each other and the game is close as fuck. Getting the kills, pushing objective for those points, it’s honestly better than just having one sided matches.
This is why nowadays "casual" players are cancer for pvp games. 5 years of CoD sbmm protection made them believe that K/D is everything what matters. You can even go 0-30 but if u have more objective points ur automatically the better player. So instead of crying about bunny hoppers and mean sweats play the damn objective and win the game.

Actually movement isn’t really this issue people should be bringing up. The real problem is that splitgate has now been turned into a class based game when it functioned completely fine as just letting everyone use portals instead of it being exclusive to a single class/playstyle
For those who say "skill issue", "get good" or "cope" in a negative way, it feels like you need a much deeper understanding of how the old days were.
I've been playing games for 13 years now. The average player is just better regardless of the game. If we went back to classic mw2 or even mw1 you'd be mad. It really is a skill issue

Well the real issue is that there isn’t a decent game that will give the players that want that what they want. So they see a game like Split and want it to be a classic Cod like game and the reaction is to try and play it like that. If the mw2 remake that activation recently tried to block was a console release supported game those people probably wouldn’t even be interested in Splitgate. I think it’s more of the people don’t like what they have and have been conditioned to complain about it rather then adapt to a newer version. And part of that is from TH-camrs complaining about every single fps for the last decade. Longer actually. But you’re right. People that played splitgate expected it.
I didn't enjoy the movement in X defiant before the new update. But you'll never see me complain about portals in Splitgate

I been playing COD since he beginning and not one of these whiny players would ever survive the og lobbies. I played the splitgate 2 alpha and never ran into anyone like that. I loved watching all the different playstyles and that is how i learn. I see a really good player and think how do you do that, i then try to learn, get better. If a mechanic or movement or skill is possible on a standard controller then nobody has the right to complain. When it's only possible on non standard controllers or mnk then it becomes a problem.

"Tech" comes around after a games depth has been fully explored. I'm excited for omni-movement, but I hate slide canceling with a religious passion. Those who don't know the difference are the problem.

As someone that still plays SplitGate 1 I have been portal walking ( the tech term for that movement ) from the first week it launched. It does take a little time to practice yet it’s an obtainable skill everyone can learn in the matter of days. It’s pressing alt inputs for portals when you walk through. It’s not difficult at all. Learn the layouts of maps and you can cover it 5x in 10 portals ( applicable for certain maps yet you get the gist )
Nothing new at all and when I can play SG2 I’ll be doing the same thing I always have done 😂✨

managed to played 2hrs so far - don’t think the enemy teams liked me so much haha. Portal Walking does take a couples days to get use to. But you’ll have it done in no time. I still make mistakes with it all the time. So don’t worry if you do lose flow of it. It’s super easy to pick back up. :))

if I'm having a sucky game I stick it out, I hate quiting mid game, think that is the coward way out.
I have to say advance movement is important to help dodge and evade players, also helps catching cheaters since advance movement helps throw the aimer off since their not suppose to track you easily.
CoD is the biggest reason for this lazy casual mentality that we have in gaming today. That's why it's always the top selling shooter, it manipulates bad players into thinking they're good at the game without putting in any practice. They try to play real games that don't baby them with sbmm, they get their sh*t kicked in by average players, then they run back to CoD cuz they think that's the game they're "good" at lol

Ive realized people like this play sbmm all day on COD (obviously),but not only are they bad, the people they play against are just as bad if not worse so they never get to see the full mechanics of a game used against them. it feels like no one wants to get better at games, I work just as much as anybody, but I still make time in my day to be incredibly competitive on whatever game it is that I’m currently playing, I’ve always loved to be competitive and specifically target the best player in the lobby, and to get better and better in general.

I highly agree. The level of casualness have become way too casual, for the sake of trying to get more players. The players the publishers are usually trying to get are usually the braindead ones, because braindead players are usually the ones who spends the most money since theyre braindead.

In this current day and age of Gamers I fully believe they act the way they do because there are too many enabled players, developers, publishers that push the agenda of "here is a trophy" Thanks for playing. Fighting games do combos or special moves for you with one button. ( back in the day, this was called cheating ). Call of Duty enabled its own player base with the algorithm that makes players think they are better than they actually are, hides players in safe spaces, and allows players to camp and win vs running and gunning and getting the win by aiming, and being on point because of experience and taking the time to learn and get better.
These kids, these Gamers would not last 20 mins in an arcade, nor would they be happy playing a lot of titles on the NES, SNES or even some Gamecube, Dreamcast, or PS1/PS2 games

Casual lazy gamer here. I have no issue with skilled players being on top and having fun, i have a problem with streamers and TH-camRS minmaxing games and making videos on it. It creates a feedback loop where i the casual have to watch your videos just to survive let alone have fun. I don’t want to play a game where i have to do homework on what the best guns are what the best attachments are, what all the best spots on the map and sitelines are I JUST WANT TO PLAY AND HAVE FUN! I wish youtube gaming wasn’t a thing, then games would be fun again.

@@lolcow6668 I play plenty of games to just have fun; elden ring, slay the spire, hades, and doom for example. Great single player experiences that are challenging yet satisfying moment to moment.
But in a multiplayer game where winning is the goal, I’m going to develop strategies to get me closer to the win. I’ll jump peek corners in valorant, dodge the blue shell in Mario kart, hog ledge in smash bros, counterswap in overwatch, dp a jump in in Street Fighter, have a save round in counterstrike, use portals in splitgate, and jump and move in CoD. Why would I elect to not use fun mechanics that were programmed into a game that the game was balanced around that improve my chances of winning?
Sorry for posting a paragraph, but I have to put this bluntly. Many players have forgotten that things in life aren't going to go your way EVERY TIME. People will say that this is "Only a game," but complain about losing like it's their job and act like in every sport, contest, or game where there is a winner and loser. there is competitiveness and differences in skills between others. Personally, I dont think people should make money from most games in general it ruined everything, and it isn't even skillful it's just someone lucky enough to spend more hours than the next guy. I do think strategy games should make money and also any high IQ games because it's useful in real life. Otherwise, you get people taking shooters seriously 💀
While I agree with some of the things you've said, I also understand "the casuals" in this case too. If you've played Titanfall, you'll know how crazy the movement gets there but it's hard to master and you have to put time in it to master it. Movement should be a skill that you need to master not something that you can spam by putting a vibrator on spacebar and watch the character go brrr
Also lemme bring up B-hopping from MW2019 (a lot of people are gonna be mad) which not a lot of people could do too. You had to time your jump after a slide to achieve a crazy b-hop which was a skill to master too.

Honestly my only issue with splitgate 2 is that i enjoyed splitgate when it felt like og halo with portals now splitgate 2 just feels the same as every other modern game that comes out now just with portals. I know its not much of a complaint.
FPS are among the easiest genres in gaming (except stuff like Quake or Unreal). People need to put some effort at least 😢.

This is something I just notice there was a lack of options when it came to games for the past few years and now new games are coming out i think this is causing to be defensive because we was given the same slop for so long that people got use to it
I'm still waiting on the netcode fixes for the game because that will make a lot of things easier to get through because the hopping wouldn't be as big of an issue but why is it okay for sweats to get mad about having bad teammates as if people can control how lobbies are made. Not everyone is out here treating this game like it's their job and putting 15 hours a day into it. I just want to level up the guns and the pass.
Split gate 2 does give me Concerns, but I'm still gonna give the game a try and see how far it drifts away from what made the first special. I mean I was concerned with XDefiant not feeling like it is finished, but the game released and I just have it in common rotation with Fortnite. So I'm hoping Splitgate 2 Comes our finished and has good content for me to grind for.

There is no movement comparison in any game if you have ever played Titanfall. Every other game is clown movement, no comparison at all. King of movement fps. And I hear “movement” in other games I laugh very hard. People don’t really know what movement is.

I stopped playing multiplayer fps games cause of the complainers. I don't mind if someone is bad or a casual. What I do mind is those ppl complaining at anything that increases the skill gap. They suck so bad so they want no skill gap. May as well just make fps games a walking only simulator smh. These are the ppl companies are catering to. Sbmm/eomm, nerfing movement any chance they get. It's tiring. I'm so glad I left. Ppl are lazy and don't want to try at anything. It's deeper than gaming. It's how ppl are nowadays. And the "I'm busy" excuse is annoying. Everyone has stuff to do. And if you don't have the time, stop expecting to be as good as someone who does. Rant over.
“Casual” gamers aren’t real gamers imo atleast not when it comes to pvp. If your hopping on a fps and not actively trying to improve so you can sht on every other player then why bother you already gave up before you even started. We used to get dumpstered by great players and give them props and now they just call them all cheaters or tryhards.

Why is it hard to understand that gamers want a grounded shooter. It seems like all we get are fast twitch shooters these days. Back in the day the main skill in shooters was aim, positioning, and reading spawns. Now it's all about who's the better movement god. People just want an old school multiplayer experience.
No, people want basic shooter games that any bot can get kills and pretend they are decent for doing the bare minimum, aiming, shooting and positioning is in most of these games but its much harder to play around it when you dont have good movement, or have to track someone using it

@@Slate674 No one plays PUBG because its old af now. That's my entire point though. They stopped making those type of shooters. Most coming out now are fast movement games, basically Apex clones. CSGO/Valorent popularity proves there's still a huge demand for slow moving tactical shooters.

I think those people just shouldnt play pvp games. I mean I understand that somethings need to be tweaked but those people just want everything to be easy so they get a kill without any effort which is fine but then just dont play pvp games if you cant accept that people are better than you.

I like the movement the way it is. I think a good trade off should be allowing the same movement but decreasing in air accuracy, so that you get punished by it being less consistent than feet planted. This way the game still feels fast paced, positioning becomes more of a priority than speed and it’s not impossible to get kills in air but is more of an option instead of like it is now feeling mandatory

Personally, I don’t think people should hate on “sweats.” They’re just good at a game they’re passionate about since they cared enough to put in the time to be THAT good. Yeah sure I get annoyed when I get curb stomped by them, but at least they show me how high that skill ceiling really gets. I’ve been playing Valorant since the closed beta and my aim has always been trash, but best believe I still keep playing to try to get better. That’s all there is to it, just play and eventually get better.
Being good at the game isn't abusing movement and op weapons while depending on youtubers to make a class for you
