    0:14. River Road, east end. Excavator. There is/was a permit for works on an unrelated to GT natural gas pipeline through here. Might be it. Another small excavation in a trench shield to the north.
    0:41. Southend, south. Inside. Excavation returns east.
    0:47. Southend, south. Inside. Further west. Now there’s a pattern. Second excavation behind the second retaining wall thickening.
    1:02. Southend, west. Apron. Finally, a braced bay. Beam with connector plates for cross bracing.
    2:20. Stamping, east. Apron. 4 coils of metal being delivered.
    2:36. BIW, roof. Roof structure painted. Might have been abrasive blasted first for a better long term result. Structure remains exposed to the elements.
    3:32. Parking Garage. North. Additional stair location. Structurally different to the stair located mid building width on the south side.
    4:06. Main Entrance. Rolling skeleton of a vehicle. Removing the entrance doors to get it inside. Might be the vehicle to be suspended from the ceiling.
    7:24. New EOL Superchargers. Still a height difference between the asphalt paving and the concrete bases.
    Drive-through design seems unnecessary for this application. Relies on there being an empty bay opposite to drive out through. What it does allow is for Cybertrucks to reverse closer to the Superchargers. Length of cable seems a little short at the existing Superchargers across the highway.
    11:35. Westside. West property boundary. Temporary connection to the city water supply. This connection might be to the small white pipe laid above the blue water main over the last few weeks. Potable water possibly.
    11:48. Battery, west. Apron. Small silo, bulk bags below. Waste in the silo presumably.
    12:22. Battery, north. Loading platforms. Alimaks returned to ground level.
    12:32. Paint. Apron. Loading fabricated stainless steel pipes onto the trailer. Maybe dismantling a temporary facility. Water storage trailers possibly associated.
    13:16. Casting, east. Apron. Pavement demolition continues.
    Matheson tanker. Liquid Nitrogen delivery.
    Left. Electrical vaults. Cables draped out over the ground.
    13:40. BIW. Apron. Additional pavement demolition.
    13:51. Crash Test Track. Inside. Vehicle up against the crash wall.
    Basin project. Excavation beside.
    13:54. Cathode, pond. Placing rip-rap on the outflow side of the flow spreader structure.
    14:39. Cathode. Plant Platform. Tah-dah!
    15:22. BESS installation. Topping up the water…..*
    15:29. BESS switchyard. Knife switches open. Megapacks isolated. Low on water, so to be expected*.
    16:17. New switchyard/substation. Mega-Vaults. Vacuum excavating along the red marked lines. Then backfilling.
    *No, I don’t know. Having a laugh.

      @0:41 matches the thickening in the perimeter footing. Will be interesting to see how this all develops. Definately more planned out construction than the original building.
      @1:07 notice an upright column has been installed on other side of suspected alignment for the tunnel. If they put the beams in over the top then makes for interesting discussion about where tunnel will exit as they will need access for a fairly large crane to remove the TBM I would think.
      @7:24 I have been trying to figure out the benefit of this layout as well - still cannot see how it will work effectively
      @15:22 🤣😂🤣

    • @DessieDoolan
      @DessieDoolan 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Dwayne.Shea.231 0:41. Yes, planning more complete. Final purpose of structure was known! Unlike most of the existing building that was built as 'space'.
      1:07. If you stop the video at the wrong time, that column appears to be on the perimeter. Some head scratching took place!
      TBM removal. My guess is that the TBM surfaces just inside the alignment of the perimeter grade beam. It needs to clear the deep sanitary sewer drains. Limited number of locations to place a crane to lift it out. Can't be located over the tunnel, over the wet well, or over the manhole shafts.
      Might be picked up from a crane located inside to the east. That would require a number of column bays eastwards to be left un-built. Must be ways of extracting TBMs from tight spots. Hopefully David Salisbury will chime in with some thoughts.
      7:24. Superchargers. Puzzling, no need for it. Might simply be what was available, or what gives the most flexible access.

    Parking garage:
    @ 2:57 (Lower right) Microwave tower in the way of the new duct-bank.
    @ 3:34 (Top, by the temporary lighting) Trench across old construction road for the new duct-bank to power the parking garage, Likely to connect to the supercharger power supply to the north.
    EOL facility:
    South:
    @ 7:18 (Left) Covers placed on two vaults. Meaning they are energized or will be soon. Covers are also placed on the relevant vaults at....
    * 10:28 Two vaults to the right. Though the vault to the left also needs a cover.
    * 10:40 Two vaults to the south.
    Conclusion: Supercharger station may be operational soon. Though it appears some work remains.
    @ 10:59 final work on the superchargers.
    West:
    @ 8:32 (Left) Green transformer or switchgear cabinet wrapped in plastic... Possibly the main power entry point to the building. (Based on previous conduit layout).
    Also, a concrete pour.
    Eastside of casting:
    @ 13:19 (Bottom left) A lot of cables pulled out of the vault. May also include the cables that were routed temporarily through the old supercharger vault by the building by the building?
    Old supercharger vault..... (see manhole cover just north of the white truck, and between the castings and the building). This bypass enabled demolition of the old duct-banks and connection of the new duct-banks from the LCRA substation without disrupting power to the factory.
    Megapacks:
    @ 15:19 (Megapacks on the left) Covers still removed from the cable trays between the Megapacks and the transformers.
    BESS substation:
    @ 15:28 Switches appear open.

      what should that first set of switches just north of the BESS look like when they're connected to allow power to move in/out - and there are 4 - what is each of the 4 used for ? the ones that look like a Y going up from the ground. when you say OPEN, your mean is NOT capable of passing as they're not connected... yes ? thx.

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @avast7652 15:28 This is difficult to explain because it is a head on view. Joes video from yesterday 2-26-24 at the 10: 59 timestamp (Bottom left) has another view of what open switches look like. Where they are hanging down from the vertical position. When closed, the switches should be up in the vertical position
      Open switch.... Means no current can flow. The Megapacks are isolated and NOT operational.
      Number of switches.... There are eight 3 phase circuits going to the Megapacks that are switched (See the 8 conduits coming out of the ground). Each circuit requires 3 switches. However.....
      Only 4 sets of switches are visible from this side for a total of 12 switches. The other 12 switches are on the other side and not visible in this view.
      Hope this helps.

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      15:28 For anyone wondering how the 8 conduits coming out of the ground can serve 68 Megapacks....
      Each of those conduits goes to a Megapack transformer somewhere down the Megapack line. But... It doesn't just connect to one transformer. The transformers are wired together in parallel into groups.
      There are 6 groups of 4 transformers each and 2 groups of 5 transformers each. For a total of 34 transformers. (6 x 4) + (2 x 5) = 34
      Then each transformer serves 2 Megapacks. For a total of 68 Megapacks.

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      13:19 Update, cables sticking out of the vault on the left. Of course, some of the cables are the new cables from the LCRA substation. However...
      Also confirmed that all of the cables that were temporarily routed through the old supercharger vault by the building by the building have been pulled out. Another channel called Airwave Dynamics has a view of the vault by the stairs from a different angle. Old supercharger vault abandoned, all cables now going through the new duct-bank.
      Note: There is a new vault by the building for the superchargers, the vault furthest south.

    questio9n on the mega pak site, did we get estimate on the number of solar panels vs battery backup? I ask since I see tons of roof space but no solar. Could they create a new sub station like they did on the east bound and mimic it on the west side of the high way.

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The solar panels and battery backup.....
      The solar panels and megapacks are two different things, no comparison or connection. Though there will be 70,000 solar panels, producing about 30 MW when the project is complete.
      Megapacks....
      Power: 131 Megawatts
      Capacity: 262 Megawatt/hours.
      Substation.....
      There is no need for another substation on the westside of the freeway. One of the two transformers at the substation can power everything currently on the site. Plus there is the option to add a third transformer if needed in the future.

      Hi David. When they do get this operational and it emerges on the east side of the highway, what are the options for disassembly of the TBM inside the building, or is it impossible to do so, requiring large sections of the structure to be left un-built?

    • @davidsalisbury50
      @davidsalisbury50 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DessieDoolan they can take it apart piece by piece. At the end of the day the main bearing will be +30T, and the cutterhead similar. So they need lifting gear capable of that and to load it onto a heavy load carrier.
      It only makes sense IF they have a heavy lift gantry in the building in the line of the tunnel exit. But no reason to do that as its future use would be limited by the tunnel entry/exit ramp.
      I think they will remove it first then possibly complete the building over the ramp.
