Few supercars can be called beautiful. This one can. Its a magnificent blend of athleticism, muscularity and elegance without being too flashy. Its no wonder the market cottoned on to the 720s after a few years.
@@AB-80Xthe 720S was a ground breaking car on its design alone and its function of air flow and aerodynamics was class leading but you probably think a C8 Corvette is a good looking car

That view off the back of your boat is a blast from the past, I worked on a boat in berth 38 back in 2013. Lots of great memories and I couldn't agree more about Antibes, very fun area and a great hub to explore from
That was great Harry, made more so by a car which has more performance than most super bikes yet it seemed very drivable and quite docile when needed! Excellent job McLaren.
Yeah 720 is very tractable and highly refined at slow speeds. The breadth of its qualities is staggering compared to most of its peers. Not tried 750 as yet but I’m guessing it’s not bad either!
Great footage of that downhill section of the N something or other they were on - you could really sense the amount torque there was by the short shifting - brilliant.
10:13 - consider an MSXTTLY dongle (CarPlay version in your case)... you can plug it into the USB port of any car and away you go... uses 5g WiFi for the connection to the phone (not BT) so response time is as good as wired
Really enjoyed this. As someone who will never own either and probably not even see either in the flesh I was surprised how keenly I awaited the likes, dislikes and outcomes. The Mclaren is a very pretty car and its somewhat understaded looks are very classy and largely timeless. It will still look good, fresh and fast in 50y time. Thanks, Harry and Mrs H!
Antibes is my favorite vacation I've ever had. Rented a scooter and putted around the roads, would do a motorbike now. That car looks so good. I love the idea of the focus on driver feel. My worry with this is that it's too much. Like my sport bike could never leave 3rd gear without extremely breaking every speed limit in the country.
I’m also a great fan of Antibes. We’ve walked past Harry’s boat a few times without realising. I’ve just checked backed through last year’s photos and it’s included in one of them.
You’d be disappointed. Do it on bikes. Yes. Do it in a convertible. Yes. Do it in this sterile tin can. Nope. Not for me. And I’d bet you would, genuinely, be disappointed. After the first half hour of being in a very fast car, I mean…

Fabulous video....thankyou so much for making my car weekend complete after a trip to the members meeting at Goodwood. The impending working week seems easier as a result! Hats off to you, for some great content. Long may it continue!
France is the best driving country in Europe - great road surfaces and little traffic compared to the UK and Switzerland. If taking the ferry to Caan, stay in Honfleur just down the coast. As for the McLaren (and the Alpine A110), fantastic car (I do wonder on ease of repairing in a few years time). Thanks for sharing.
My dad, Colin Howard's Rallycross car, a 2wd Escort, did 2.8 to 60...never thought a road car would get there! John Welch was his teM mate & his ex-Maryin Schanche escort did 2.4 as it was 4wd! Cheers Harry, keep having fun! All the best from @HowardsPortugal Steve. PS - careful of the speed cameras...they don't flash & they get you at 1 kmph over the limit 😮
I live just round the corner from John Welch's place in Church Crookham. I remember him repairing one of my crash damaged cars about 35 years ago, when he was driving those rallycross cars. I couldn't believe him when he told me how fast they accelerated - faster than an f1 car at the time I think?
@@chrisw9854 yes, I think that to 100 they were faster, but of course then the F1 got away...and downforce meant much faster in the corners! If you see John & Dan say hi from me... Cheers!
Buy it Harry! I got my 750s Spider thursday and have done 600km of country roads with it and it's amazingly good. Nothing beats this car. Cheers from Sweden! 😊
I have driven manual shift cars most of my life, but listening to the downshifts using the paddles in this review is like music to the ears. I admire the fact, Harry uses a paper map, instead of relying GPS devices, sometimes you loose the signal in deserted areas when using a cellular phone for navigation.
Fortunate to have had a shot of the 750s and having driven the 720 quite a lot, I was skeptical of it being a big difference. My how wrong I was! Listen 720 is a very fast car, but 750s is unbelievably fast. Easily the fastest car I’ve driven. But not a handful or boring like 911 turbo. Would buy one tomorrow ( if I could sell the house, wife , kids and dog) fortunately for them that’s not possible. What a car, get one in 10 years for my retirement 🤞
Fantastic video, as always. Proper journey/test, awesome roads, spirited driving combined with the welcome, but honest, laid-back commentary. I love the UK, but having driven most of the roads in this video, France is right up there. You'd have as much fun in a sporty Mini as a McLaren, but as Harry loves his Lancia as much as anything, I suspect he might agree. Keep it up sir.
You didn’t mention he build quality. Squeaks? Rattles? Love these road trip videos, that is a stunning automobile! Sounds like you should add this to the garage.
I really love the steering wheel and the lack of attention giving atrocities like an F1 race car. You really hit the nail on the head on this 750 Harry! I hope you and mom enjoyed your trip, so thank you Harry. Drive safe.
Harry does a great job of driving rarified cars properly on roads deserving of such a motor. This time he picked almost the exact route I’m taking to St.Tropez in May. Thanks for the preview Harry, it looks brilliant 👍
I used to own a Lotus Excel in a very similar colour which was called Atlantic Green and I thought that it too was a great looking car. For its time it had very good handling on sweeping roads but it had nowhere near the levels of power a modern Mclaren has. I would have loved to have taken it down to those roads in France but I suspect it might have come back on a tow truck!
Taking those sharp corners, just astonishing the handling. A drive that you want to last forever. Great for driving in the rain on your chosen tyres. Always pleased to catch a glimpse of that neat Alpine A110. What ? 2 Alpine.

Nothing like a Harry's Garage road trip video🔥🔥🔥.
Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Love these road-trip videos - thanks Mr & Mrs Metcalfe!
Few supercars can be called beautiful. This one can. Its a magnificent blend of athleticism, muscularity and elegance without being too flashy. Its no wonder the market cottoned on to the 720s after a few years.
To each their own. Looks odd like most other McLarens.
@@AB-80Xthe 720S was a ground breaking car on its design alone and its function of air flow and aerodynamics was class leading but you probably think a C8 Corvette is a good looking car
@@jameswillard1
Why the knee-jerk assumptions, just because I don't agree with you?
Let's get one thing out of the way. I cannot stand the C8 or its design, and even if I could, what is the relevance?
I would not mind discussing views, but not on these terms. You do you.
The number one man to give us what we want when it comes to cars thanks Harry brilliant as usual
10:13 - consider an MSXTTLY dongle (CarPlay version in your case)... you can plug it into the USB port of any car and away you go... uses 5g WiFi for the connection to the phone (not BT) so response time is as good as wired
Just realised our 2010 VW Gold plus has the same windscreen park feature 🤣
@@iaingraham7276 Yeah after I bought my 1000cc I was like Yeah! and I zipped up to 200kph 3 times and then I was like, now what? When I had a 250cc I had way more fun.
These types of road trip videos are my FAVOURITE ❤ love the details like talking about the wipers tucking in.
The spec massively reminds me of the MSO SLR that you had for a trip a while ago, love the road trip content!
Terrific video, and a truly thoughtful and insightful appreciation of the McLaren. A truly wonderful car, on wonderful roads. If only our roads were so well maintained...thank you.
720/750S Spider. The ultimate sensible non-multi-million dream car!
is it one of a kind reliable car?
''...where you take a daft car like this onto a ferry..''' There you go 'in a nutshell' as Harry would say, is the reason why we warm to his pragmatic, real world, appreciation of all of Harry's car videos. I'm starting to think that HM is the world's most subliminal car salesman.
You know it’s going to be good when Harry gets the map out!
Wow, what e treat. Thank you for taking us on the ride with you 😃👍👍👍
Certain angles and lines keep making me think of the XJR-15
Fabulous video....thankyou so much for making my car weekend complete after a trip to the members meeting at Goodwood. The impending working week seems easier as a result! Hats off to you, for some great content. Long may it continue!
Thankyou Harry for a truly exceptional episode.
I like Harry's use of proper maps. No better way to see the full picture and understand where you are👍
Top gears gone but we have Harry`s Garage to look forward to every Sunday evening .
Really professional camera feel when moving thru those mountain corners and straights. Great episode.👏👏👏
Screens should never be bigger than that on sports cars. 😊
Gordon Murray said: no screens at all 😉
France is the best driving country in Europe - great road surfaces and little traffic compared to the UK and Switzerland.
All the best from @HowardsPortugal
Steve.
Cheers!
Going to buy one, after months of evalution of different cars.. The Mclaren stands on it's own.. Wicked Machine
Harry is the only youtuber i can think of who would review a 750S in terms of practicality and actually using the car.
Could watch Harry driving back and forward through France all day long
Let's goooo !😅
The N106 was it Harry … one of your best reviews ever I think … the sound of that car and ur enthusiastic driving, bloody perfect mate.
Just buy both ! 😊
What a wonderful trip. Modern Super cars don’t usually command my interest , but couldn’t help be very impressed with this McLaren.
Top guys at the ferry 🤟
The bit at 9:35 in the video when he quickly heads off into the distance from the camera car! 😮😮❤❤
Yep McLaren all day long for me👍
Fantastic video, as always.
What a stunning colour!
You didn’t mention he build quality. Squeaks? Rattles? Love these road trip videos, that is a stunning automobile! Sounds like you should add this to the garage.
Harry's mileage depreciation free holiday masked as a car review 👌🏻
I really love the steering wheel and the lack of attention giving atrocities like an F1 race car. You really hit the nail on the head on this 750 Harry! I hope you and mom enjoyed your trip, so thank you Harry. Drive safe.
We can only dream of roads like that. Our 3rd world surfaces are an embarrassment.
Yep. The UK. an undeveloped country in a developed world...
You too can have roads like ours if youre willing to be absolutely robbed blind in social security and taxes??
Been following Harry’s word since the Evo days. He’s a petrol head first and foremost and that’s why we love him.

People born after 2000: "what is that paper version of Google Maps McLaren is using?"
Harry does a great job of driving rarified cars properly on roads deserving of such a motor. This time he picked almost the exact route I’m taking to St.Tropez in May. Thanks for the preview Harry, it looks brilliant 👍
Can people join me in prayer to ensure Harry's life improves in the future....🙄😂
God those wheels are revolting! They belong on a Max Power era Corsa
luckily they're plastic wheel caps that can be removed
Taking those sharp corners, just astonishing the handling. A drive that you want to last forever. Great for driving in the rain on your chosen tyres. Always pleased to catch a glimpse of that neat Alpine A110. What ? 2 Alpine.
"...having had a boat down here for more than 20 years..."
As one does Harry, as one does...
Old money.... you'd have one too if your family was essentially generational landed gentry
Hands down your reviews are definitely my favourite and most likely the best.
