Assorted stones and shells are on the top, as well as a few beds of moss. They also have a friend that came inside on the wood by accident. He's one of those Rolly-Polly dudes

Hi!! Sorry I didnt see this earlier. What species is your caterpillar? Some species (like the one in this video) form their chrysalis on the ground. If it is the case, then it should be fine to leave it alone. and most likely it will be looking for some shade or shelter to be safe under while it forms the chrysalis (: just make sure that the chrysalis is next to something that the adult can climb onto when it emerges! Like a branch ! Hope this helps
Hii i have a big question dear, I recently saw a moth laying egg just in front of me nd i ran and collected one egg cus it was too low to get hurt and i took that inside my room in a jar with leaves waited for 5 days it hatched but after that i gave that lil one fresh leaves but he didn’t ate anything and died the next day can you tell why??
this is gonna sound crazy but are you Singaporean? I can't explain why but those D. nerii and those adeniums look so Singaporean, idk maybe after looking at so many I kinda recognize the vibes. The shrivelled caterpillar could be due to viruses, sometimes they just spread from the mom to the eggs (like hepatitis) and there's nth u can do about it besides keeping each one in a separate plastic cup (very hard if there are large batches so i just try to keep them well spaced) let me know if you have raised/are keen on raising other local caterpillars, i have some experience with hawk moths

I met a caterpillar yestetday i gave him curry leaves but he was shitting all day and then the poop was watery green . I thought he getting a problem so . I went and made him crawl to the curry plant .today i checked he is pupating omgaaah . Im so happy .

I’ve done exactly what you’ve done but is it normal for it to just stay so still? It moves around from time to time but most of the time it just stays still :( it also hasn’t eaten any of the leaves I put in :( i can see it moving it’s mouth(?) a lot. Earlier it crawled on the leaf but then when it reached the end of the stem (which I ripped out of the plant) it had a mouthful of the liquid that’s coming out from the leaf! Is it going to be ok?

please pick leaves that are green :(( it makes the caterpillar unhealthy and there is no reason to put yellow/brown/ugly leaves because they have no use
If you give caterpillars old or yellow leaves, the caterpillars will more unhealthy D: they should get new and fresh leaves for every meal 🌟
Or the leaves were already fresh but over time it gets old

These caterpillars don't bite, at least not in my experience. What they're after is plants after all!
