I remember doing this in biology class. A week later I found a praying mantis egg casing so I took it into class. Over a long weekend scholl break they hatched & when we walked into the classroom there was little tiny pray mantis everywhere! The teacher told me that since I was the one that brought them in I was the one that could open the window so they could all find their way outside. I could swear there had to be between 200-500 of them that hatched! 😂👍
I just did this with my daughter! We just let the butterflies go yesterday. She loved it! We actually saw a butterfly in the yard today, she thinks it was one of hers!🦋🐛
I'm 48 lol and my hubby and I lost twins and released butterflies 🦋 eveytime we see one we think of them so now we decided to experience there life cycle and release. loved the video
This video is way better than the info that came with the kit! Thank you for this!! My youngest got to see other children being careful with the caterpillars, so clutch for the visual learner. Thank you!
This is a great idea.. trying this with my baby girl this weekend. I love the idea of printing out the life cycle and anatomy of the butterflies for further understanding. Thank you guys 🙌
You are a great mum 😘 I'm 47 I grew up with the hungry caterpillar book, I read it to my three children and even as young adults they still remember it! A great book for learning ❤️👍
Thank you. The book I was reading to them was actually my Hungry Caterpillar book from when I was a child. My mom saved a lot of my books so I love reading them to the girls 😊
I get black swallowtails in my garden all the time so I’ve been researching how to take care of them… not I get videos like this on my recommended 😂 I do feel a bit silly as a 25 year old taking care of caterpillars but they really are pretty fascinating to observe as they change! And they’re good for the flowers and support the food chain so hey, there are sillier hobbies out there right?
Our pollinators need all the help they can get, there is no age to raising butterflies ♥ Some of the greatest helpers of the butterfly colonies I've made friends with are older men such as my grandparents age and it's wonderful to enjoy them and help at any age. I don't think anyone judges 25 is still a baby lol
Great video . Your Children are adorable . Great project ! my kids have grown up and now we’re doing butterflies with the grandkids. One thing we did that might add to this is we let the butterflies go in a bedroom and let them land on us. then we let them go. 😊🦋
How was the first grade my teacher, Miss Eby bought a butterfly set and it was when they went to caterpillar to butterfly when we released them. The last one went on one of my classmate on her red dress
I just got our caterpillars on Thursday! They are so healthy! They are crawling around eating ect.. I’m excited for them to hatch and become butterflies!! This is awesome that they do this for kids! Did you do the ladybugs yet?
@@onlymesamieb9772 They come with the food supplied in the cup. It's the brown paste at the bottom. Painted Lady caterpillars will eat milk thistle / hollyhocks etc if you find them without buying the tubs with food in.
Ours turned 🦋 last night n just wondering if i should release them out.. It was really hot today 17. C.. honestly they are gorgeous i don't want to let them go 😂
It’s recommended to release them on a warm sunny day below 90 degrees. You also want to release them as soon as possible after hatching. Within a week in their habitat your butterflies will begin to mate and lay eggs. They can lay up to 300 eggs 😅
What did you guys feed at well the butterflies not the caterpillars pillars I know they eat that stuff at the bottom I'm talking about when they turn into butterflies
I need help!! My 7th butterfly is out of his shell (I don’t now the right word for it in English) when I wasn’t at home and I noticed that he has some of the shell (/skin I don’t know) on his head and he tries to take it off but he can’t. What should I do? And I need to release them tomorrow because I am for two weeks not home
I’m kind of worried :( they sent us 6 instead of 5 and we are on day 10 and they are pretty big and they haven’t started their cocoon process and I’m worried if they maybe don’t have enough room :(

right, you dont feed them oranges, acording to the pack it comes with a bowl with sugar packs, you put in water and Boom food done those oranges are for wild butterflys. No hate

Does the container they come in have holes for them to get air?
You should think about starting a butterfly garden.
Rory's little video is tooooo cute 💞💞
So sweet you did this 👏👍
Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

I'm growing butterflies with my daughter. 🐛🦋

So I will stick in a tender garden because i'm a kid so reset goodbye to the wendy buckland in the butterfly land

I actually got the idea from their social media as well as their website. It says you can put their sugar water on fruit 😄
There website says you can do sugar water and Juicy Fruits..these are wild butterflies, they will be released after 3 days from hatching
Can’t wait to do this during our life cycles unit! So cute!
How long should you keep them before letting them go? ❤❤
You should only keep them for a few days. After about a week your butterflies will start to mate and can lay up to 300 eggs 😅
I want to see them lay eggs ect.. is there a way we can do that? And keep them healthy while doing it?
@@TheMoranFamily rofl
How long does this take?
Do I feed them as catapillars
No! The stuff that comes in their cup is their food.
are the butterflies included?
No you have to order them :)
Hi colle
lele? Isn’t that Catherine’s little girl? You’re associated with The Ace Family?
No 😂 My daughter’s name is Laylah. Her nickname is Lay Lay.
I don't think you drop the sugar water onto the fruit, on the website it says to drip onto a sponge for them to drink.
Either is fine, they'll take the natural sugars from the fruit also
I got the same
I have insect lore mine are Chrysalis
I’m gonna get them
I did this at school
