  • When SUVs were first introduced, people said that they were functional but boring. They’re just boxes on wheels. When EVs were introduced, people didn’t like them because they were impractical and not as much fun as a lightweight, nimble sports car. So what happens when you combine an SUV and an EV? Do you get boring squared?
    Well the 2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron, 2023 BMW iX M60, and 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV are trying to change those stereotypes. These EV SUVs are powerful, practical, and luxurious just like their gasoline-only counterparts.

    Your video cutting skills are impressive and the creative storytelling here is great. Why does this channel only have 1,950 subscribers? 🤔

      Thank you! We only recently started making these type of overview/review videos. So in time, we hope that the channel will grow like many others out there!

    The highest available trim level for the EQE would be the AMG version, not the 500.

      True, but it's not available yet in the Canadian market

    My friend you need to use cars with comparable power if you would have used the EQE SUV 580 the results would be totally different

    • @Openroadgroup
      @Openroadgroup  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We try our best to make the cars as comparable as possible. But it's hard to get the exact cars we want at the exact same time. So we have to make due with what we can get our hands on.

    Q8 looks so much better than the Benz and bmw. Also bmw crystal theme is so tacky in my opinion.

    The Q8 etron is nowhere near the petrol Q8 size though

    • @Openroadgroup
      @Openroadgroup  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They both have very similar amounts of headroom & legroom. It's the cargo area where the gasoline Q8 is larger, which we mentioned in the video.

    Welcome to the modern times with the BMW IX, Audi Q8 still great however needs some upgrade to distinguish from the petrol type of their cars, Mercedes keep on trying to play the technology card but still a brand for elderly drivers……

    Why would you compare a BMW M to a low Benz 350? At least wait for the AMG man, this is a pretty skewed comparison

    • @Openroadgroup
      @Openroadgroup  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These were the cars that we're available to us at our dealerships at the time of filming the video. It is very difficult to get 3 cars with similar specifications at the exact same time. We are not the only channel who have this issue. So we have to make due with what's available to our content team.

    I'm a hardcore BMW guy but this hideous iX is so friggen ugly. Fix that dorky front end and it will be on top. As it stands now, the Audi wins on just beautiful, clean styling alone.

    The EQE is the only one that LOOKS luxury. The BMW looks like a pig nose, and the Audi looks like a thrown away toy draft with cheap materials

    Where’s the Jaguar I Pace 400 Sport? Far superior than all of the above to drive. A Sports EV SUV with superior road holding, performance, a larger boot than the ugly iX, sports performance handling as opposed to the German barge Etron & EQ rubbish.

    • @Openroadgroup
      @Openroadgroup  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This was a German EV comparison which is why we didn't include the Jaguar I-Pace or Genesis GV70 Electrified or Lexus RZ450e (the other luxury brands our dealerships carry). But you're right, we've driven the I-Pace before and it's a lot of fun. However, it does not have more trunk space than the BMW iX. The I-Pace has 656 L (23.2 cu-ft) of space with the rear seats up and 1,453 L (51.3 cu-ft) with the rear seats folded. The iX has 1,005 L (35.5 cu-ft) & 2,205 L (77.9 cu-ft) respectively.

      Thank you for your reply, it is appreciated however, the reports I have read states the I Pace boot is somewhat larger than the ugly IX as follows:
      ‘Boot space of the iX is somewhat compromised due to the high floor, giving a total of 500 litres of space. In the Jaguar there are 557 litres in the rear and an additional 27 litres of space in the front trunk. The BMW lacks an additional storage compartment under the bonnet!’
