Started lifting when I was 15 and was at my peak at 22. But then covid hit, lost some gains, gained roughly 30lb of fat, and haven’t been able to get on the grind ever since. Now at 27, discovered my man Sam last week. Watching Sam has now motivated me to get back on the fitness journey. Been going to the gym for a week now. Life feels good again. Thanks Sam
Not being a dummy is the best motivation. Like huh? Cardio is more important than lifting weights. Just wait until society collapses. You’ll quickly see how conditioning >>> strength.
Crazy how someone so young can be so inspirational to so many people young and old.Im 51 and been training since I was 16 and I still get a buzz watching Sam do his thing.Long may it continue.❤💪🏼👍🏻
I had blood work done and physical and after working out at 50 for the past 7 months all my numbers have improved. Absolutely positive. Cardio helps lung perfusion and heart efficiency.
Thanks Sam for everything…I’ve been doing my cardio everyday hard as hell and weight lifting hard as hell. You’re a big motivation to me! Please release some merch bro😂
Sam been motivating me enough to the point where i've been doing my cardio daily for 3 weeks now and I don't plan to stop since I've been feeling great since doing so. Appreciate you Sam never stop motivating people
I do 50min recumbant bike cardio daily followed by a 6 segment farmer's carry/deadlifts with 70lb dumbells. (Very good for the cardiovasular system). Then I do my workout. Lost 35lb of fat so far and 10 more to go before a bulk to add 20lb. Age 50. Goal 190-195 10-12%. Sam's videos have helped immensely....Thx Sam :)
i do about 30 minutes of cardio everyday whether its running, stair master or biking. i can definitely notice how much faster im able to complete sets cause i dont need that much break time in between my sets. cardio is king!
I can honestly say, I don't skip my cardio. I wake up at 4am, arrive at the gym around 5am, 20 min of cardio everyday, roughly an hour of lifting, 15 min of sauna if I have time, then shower, change, and in the car by 7am to be at work by 8am. Love your videos man. Keep it up. They're so simple, but very informative! Thanks!
Got my recumbent bike off of offer up for $50.. 2 months later the screen display doesn’t work but the peddles and resistance do so it’s a win in my book. Thanks Sam
I did my cardio yesterday. 30 minutes on the rowing machine so I'm good. Today I blasted shoulders. Couldn't demolish them but I did alright I can overpress the 55 lb dumbells for 10 reps, switched to the barbell overhead press and got 85 lbs. Figure as much as I haven't done it in years. Finally, figured out my bro split. Chest, Back, Shoulders, Legs, Rest.
Cardio is boring but its necessary ! When i run on track i just listen to some podcast and kill the time , or if its outside then running sprints usually. Also Basketball game once a week is good enough too. Consistency is the KEY 🔑 !
if your goal is to be as muscular as possible then cardio done the traditional way (running, cycling, walking for a certain amount of time) is not contributing to that goal and thats because low instensity repetitive activity like that doesnt build bigger muscles (with the exception of completely untrained individuals). that is why the people who do this the most i.e. road cyclists and marathon runnes are really skinny. my recommendation for anyone who wants to do cardio is to do some type of high intensity/short duration activity like sprinting, and if you think that is not cardio try sprinting for 200 m as fast as you can and check your heart rate after. my personal favourite is sprinting uphill because it is really challenging but also safe because you are much slower than if you're running on flat ground and the pump I get from my quads all the way through my glutes is amazing
I’m 27 years old a dad to three kids who are four years old and under, I’m married and I’m a full time college student. I changed from two a days and doing my cardio and core in the morning to one workout a day, and I move my cardio and core to the end of the workout. It’s been super effective and I have way more energy than I did before. If you truly love this shit you’re going to find away to train.
been a gym rat for about a year and a half, and have been on the stationary bike for 5 days in a row, 30 minutes a day now since starting to watch your vids. Burning roughly 309 active calories each session. Weirdly something about the movement is helping my bad knee feel better? idk either way thanks for the inspiration!
Martial arts (Jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing) 2/3 times per week. Learn a new useful set of skills while getting the best cardio possible. You won’t be at full strength because of the soreness from lifting, but in the long run you’ll be stronger than everyone else at the gym.

Why do I sometimes skip cardio? Time. Between a manual labour job that eats 9 hours of the day, I don't need the calorie burn. Let me clarify, I do cardio on the weekends religiously, and when it fits my time schedule during the week. But, my lifts are the priority.
I am one of those guys who's bulking, has a kid, i have two jobs and a ton of responsibilities. I still do my cardio every day. No excuses bro. Stay hard boys.
I am two of those girls who's cutting, has no kids,I have no job and 0 responsibilities. I still skip cardio every day. Any excuses chick. Go soft girls.
Most people won’t be very hungry when bulking relatively clean. That’s a ton of food. Guaranteed you’re not burning extra calories on chicken, broccoli and rice. It’s doable when eating cereal. Sam saying bro (anecdotal) mentality is why people don’t do cardio while simultaneously building a channel largely based on anecdotal training and diet with supplements is why I love Sam. He just does shit hard and often, eats, sleeps, and forget about the rest.
Been doing cardio at least 4x a week since last December. I used to make a big deal of HOW I did my cardio. Sam, you took away all the excuses. Also, I grew up in the 80s in which was a time when shaming tactics were effective 😂. It’s fitting that as soon at I put my seated back on 30 minutes on a level of 12, this video is the first one in my feed. When you rip on cardio, I say shiii, he ain’t talking about me 😎
Hey sam, just curious How much fat should you be taking in when bulking? I know protein should be roughly around your body weight and calories should be 500 + more then your maintenance weight but I always wondered how much fat should I be taking in as well. I know I should be taking in some while bulking but I don't want to consume to much to where it's excess fat and unhealthy.
Ok ok I’m doing my cardio as we speak!!! I need to increase my food on this bulk and it’s gonna go into the summer I guess so it’s time for daily cardio….maybe lol
Ngl I’ve been having a tuff time with cardio, I’ve found that doing things I like rather than just recumbent bike or a jogging helps. Like basketball or something along those lines
😂 Was your cardio the drive to the gym and back? Would’ve liked to see what cardio Sam does… I gotta get back on doing my cardio, maybe during cutting season starting in April. 🤔
Sam will probably never see this, but! How do you feel about the elliptical? I hurt my knee real bad some years ago and if I do the treadmill I can barely walk for the next 3 days cuz my knee is all locked up. Bike isn't to bad but I feel like I get a real good workout with the elliptical.
2 McDonald’s sausage egg biscuits got some calories. Also you can find a free treadmill just about anywhere. I got mine off the curb. Works great. 20-30min every morning.
The biggest I ever was at 180lbs moderately cut, I was running 16-20 miles a week. So I don’t think cardio kills gains. A good 3/4 of my 4-mile route was spent at at least a decent clip. Sam - consider doing your 30 min of cardio after or before your lift. Really not that much of a drain, if at all, and a great way to warm-up, cool-down, and save gas and time.
Now should I take just amino acids? Because I only take the 8 essential amino pills, 10 in morning, 10 at night to give my muscles what they want. I’ve researched and saw that whey is only 30% absorbable despite being one of the highest ranked proteins, with plant proteins even being less
How much cardio is enough? It's not difficult to understand (and feel) the benefits of it. But I feel that just doing 30mins 2x a week is enough to keep me in a relatively good shape. I don't see the need to do it daily.
I think the best way to put it is, if you burn an extra 300 calories from cardio, it allows you to eat an extra 300 calories in protein to help promote muscle growth without getting fat. Or as fat.
Honestly he’s speaking straight facts like there’s no point in skipping. You have like 16 hours in day (depending on how long you sleep) and it’s just 30 minutes stay hard
Sam a lot of the time people dont do cardio cause they’re skinny and wanna put on as much weight as possible. I was 125lbs and i’m 170 now and i’m doing 3 days of cardio a week now. When i was trying to get to 160 i was not doing cardio as i was trying to gain as much weight as possible.
