    That generation F-150 is THE best looking F-150 in my opinion. Looking at a 2018 2.7. Always wanted a truck, this looks like the perfect one. Thanks for the video!

      I JUST GOT MY 2020 FORD F150 2.7 STX WITH 26,000 MILES ON IT, THE LAST OF THE 13 GENERATION AND I LOVE IT

      Thanks for watching. I wish mine only had 26K on it. I'm almost 134K. Just renewed my extended warranty. Almost seems like a waste of money. It's good to have the protection though.

    We have mostly identical trucks. Mine is race red and Iove it. I tow our 6,000 lb camper with no issues. Fuel milage goes way down but that is expected. Mine came with the key pad to unlock the doors on the driverside pillar. It was a mistake from the factory. Didnt work at first but the dealer went in and programmed it into the truck and it is a great feature.

      @azdesertdog  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That red color has 4 more HP. It's weird even pulling my SXS it pulls the mileage down significantly. Still around 15MPG which isn't horrible.

    2.7 is an incredible engine. In my opinion it doesn't get the recognition it deserves unless you've driven one.I had one in 2015 was an excellent engine. My current F150 is a 3.5 because I couldnt get the options I wanted with the 2.7. I do love 3.5 though!! My next one will be 2.7 if I can ,mostly because of its fuel efficiency. Great engine more than enough for most of us

    • @azdesertdog
      @azdesertdog  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I in a couple years the 2.7 will need to be replaced weather I like it or not. It'll have close to 200K. From people I know the build quality from Ford sadly isn't the same. Take care. Thanks for watching.

    Nice truck review. I have a 2015 2.7 and still running great. Tail gate gave me problems so I open it once a year and lube it up inside.

      Thank you. Up until 2021 Ford built the best quality trucks. I wish I bought one earlier with tbe issues I had with my Chevy.

    I have a 2019 F150 Crew Cab 2.7 4x4, currently have 65k miles on it. I’ve had absolutely no issues. I live in South Jersey and my 2002 F150 and 2001 Expedition both have a lot of rust underneath, so in 2020 I started using fluid film on the undercoat. So far I have absolutely no rust, and they salt these roads pretty heavily in the winter. It’s about $320 a year, but so far seems worth it. I average 20.4mpg on “Normal” driving and I’ve gotten up to 25.9 on the highway doing 75mph and below.
    My only gripe is that cheap splash shield, I refuse to buy a new one, I just have zip ties holding it up on my $45k vehicle 🙄.
    I love the remote start, I really like being able to use the app to start it, schedule starts, etc. it rides as smooth as any car I’ve ever had, it’s my favorite car I’ve ever had to be honest. I still love the 2002 F150 body style, how that drove, it has 235,600 miles and still going strong, my oldest son drives it every day.
    I’m about to pay off this one in June, so hopefully I can get as many miles as I have on the 2002 F150 and 2001 Expedition (still have that also, I drive it several times a week just because).
    Anyway, thanks for the review. I was really leery about this 2.7 back in 2019, but I got the local dealer 8 years 100,000 mile warranty, which I haven’t had to use, but it gave me the piece of mind to go ahead and get it. So far I absolutely love this thing.

      Thanks for watching and the comment. I have 132,000 now still going strong. I have heard about the spray treatment for winter. Sounds like a great idea. I have a metel splash guard from Amazon it also keeps the catelytic convert safe from thrives.

    I liked the smoothness torque and economy of my 2017 STX, I bought a 23 STX, this time super cab, front bench, rubber floor 6.5 bed FX4 with 3:73 rear and in econ mode I’m getting around 21.5 mpg in town and bumping 24 on the highway.

      It's hard to beat and Ecoboost. Power and economy. I think the STX is the best value out there.

    Glad that you’re getting good life out of it.

    Only 45k Km on mine.
    BTW.. the auto dimming feature is great

      @azdesertdog  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I changed all fluids at 100K miles. Trans, coolant, brakes etc. I might do it a little sooner next 100K.

    • @otmuppet
      @otmuppet 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      nice! what did the trans fluid look like? I tow with mine, and on gravel often, so will likely drop it much sooner.@@azdesertdog

    • @azdesertdog
      @azdesertdog  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @otmuppet I didn't change the fluid myself. I had the dealership do it. From what I understand they have to do a "relearn" on the TB10 transmissions after service. My VW Alltrack was like that which eneded in towing it to VW.

    I'm looking at a 2020 f150 xl sport with the 2.7 with the 10 speed with 136k 1 owner appears to be in great condition and serviced good for 20k with 2 year warranty. Any comments on this purchase?

    • @azdesertdog
      @azdesertdog  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If it's been serviced I would say you have a good chance of having a reliable truck. I'd take it for a good test ride and maybe pick up a cheap scan tool.

    I had a 2013 F150 with 3.7 V6, I didn’t want anything to do with ecoboost as they had bad reputation at the time. I still avoid turbo engines though I guess they are hard to avoid these days. It was a good truck and sometimes wish I never sold it. Just wish it wasn’t so big. Would like to get a maverick but those are always sold out.

      I'm used to turbos since my 3/4 tons are deisels. The tech has come a long way. An extended warranty helps too. New truck in general are crazy money and tbe lower line models that I buy are harder to come by. The dealerships have gone full mugger mode.
