My Theory Disclamier: I have no idea what story the maker of this told in the video. Im just typing in what I think this A.U. is for fun you can add to it in the reply section if you would like. I think this A.U. is where Team Danganronpa wanted to stay as close to the original two games as possible. So along side Tsumigi as the mastermind, Shuichi was chosen to be the mastermind's accomplice. They chose to base it off of Danganronpa 2 in where the accomplice had a split personality. Pregame Keade figured this out and asked Pregame Shuichi to sacrifice himself so that she could win the killing game. Pregame Shuichi agreed since the accomplice died early in Danganronpa 1 so it would still be close to the original game. Pregame Kokichi also figured it out and asked Pregame Shuichi to be his friend in the game. Pregame Shuichi agreed to this too as he probably wasn't going to survive that long anyway and increase the despair from Kokichi when he died. Pregame Shuichi help a little bit with the story writing but Tsumigi kept a lot of the ideas from him since the accomplices in both games were both in the dark when it came to the actual planing. Pregame Shuichi was to be given some admin perms but Tsumigi was ultimately the one in control. Then everyone was called in and ejected into the killing game. Pregame Shuichi was rarely in control the entire game, only ever gaining control when Ingame Shuichi was sleeping or knocked out. So to Pre Shu(dont mind me giving him a nickname) surprise Keade sacrificed herself to save everyone. Pregame Shuichi probably knew that if you died in this game you didn't wake up in real life. That's why he signed up in the first place and made that promise with Keade, he wanted to die. So imagine what he would feel when Keade his friend in real life dies for him and all he can do is watch. He helps Tsumigi clean up the bodies when everyone else is asleep and Tsumigi also left him on drawing duty(where do you think those pink marks on the portraits came from). I have no idea if Ingame Shuichi manages to interact with Pregame before the end but he could talk with him near the end. Pregame was falling into despair as he just saw his two last friends die in one fell swoop. He thought for sure that those two would make it, he broke all of the promises he made before the killing game. Then Shuichi managed to get in his head space and find Pregame Shu. They both work together to overthrow Tsumigi's admin privileges and destroy the killing game once and for all from inside the code and out. If you want a sad ending we can say everyone else died because they forgot to eject everyone from the game before the crash. Or a bittersweet ending by saying one of the Shuichi's was left behind to crash with the code. Idk I have no idea if this is it, I also didn't account for the translated emails as most of the names are blotted out so I probs got this wrong. But hey, it would make a hekin good story don't you think.

JustSoundTrips Well, the AU is more than Saihara being the mastermind.. So pregame Saihara is still obsesses with Danganronpa, but instead of being a character in the killing game, he gets to be a script writer/mastermind. Also, Tsumugi is still a mastermind(There are two masterminds) The 'killing' game is still a show. But there are real death and fake death.(Kaede's death is fake) When the series first came out, people really like the show, but as more seasons come, people got tired of the show. As such, the show is coming to a end Meanwhile, Saihara is purely pushing forward the show because he really, really love DDR. But he also hate it as he's basically murdering people. Guilt-ridden from the death, he write his character(Ingame Saihara) in the killing game in hope of getting killed/murder something so he can be execute But finally realized it's not the way out, decided to put the series the final nail in the coffin (Edit bc I got some info wrong)

My Theory
Disclamier: I have no idea what story the maker of this told in the video. Im just typing in what I think this A.U. is for fun you can add to it in the reply section if you would like.
I think this A.U. is where Team Danganronpa wanted to stay as close to the original two games as possible. So along side Tsumigi as the mastermind, Shuichi was chosen to be the mastermind's accomplice. They chose to base it off of Danganronpa 2 in where the accomplice had a split personality. Pregame Keade figured this out and asked Pregame Shuichi to sacrifice himself so that she could win the killing game. Pregame Shuichi agreed since the accomplice died early in Danganronpa 1 so it would still be close to the original game. Pregame Kokichi also figured it out and asked Pregame Shuichi to be his friend in the game. Pregame Shuichi agreed to this too as he probably wasn't going to survive that long anyway and increase the despair from Kokichi when he died. Pregame Shuichi help a little bit with the story writing but Tsumigi kept a lot of the ideas from him since the accomplices in both games were both in the dark when it came to the actual planing. Pregame Shuichi was to be given some admin perms but Tsumigi was ultimately the one in control. Then everyone was called in and ejected into the killing game. Pregame Shuichi was rarely in control the entire game, only ever gaining control when Ingame Shuichi was sleeping or knocked out. So to Pre Shu(dont mind me giving him a nickname) surprise Keade sacrificed herself to save everyone. Pregame Shuichi probably knew that if you died in this game you didn't wake up in real life. That's why he signed up in the first place and made that promise with Keade, he wanted to die. So imagine what he would feel when Keade his friend in real life dies for him and all he can do is watch. He helps Tsumigi clean up the bodies when everyone else is asleep and Tsumigi also left him on drawing duty(where do you think those pink marks on the portraits came from). I have no idea if Ingame Shuichi manages to interact with Pregame before the end but he could talk with him near the end. Pregame was falling into despair as he just saw his two last friends die in one fell swoop. He thought for sure that those two would make it, he broke all of the promises he made before the killing game. Then Shuichi managed to get in his head space and find Pregame Shu. They both work together to overthrow Tsumigi's admin privileges and destroy the killing game once and for all from inside the code and out. If you want a sad ending we can say everyone else died because they forgot to eject everyone from the game before the crash. Or a bittersweet ending by saying one of the Shuichi's was left behind to crash with the code. Idk
I have no idea if this is it, I also didn't account for the translated emails as most of the names are blotted out so I probs got this wrong. But hey, it would make a hekin good story don't you think.

So pregame Saihara is still obsesses with Danganronpa, but instead of being a character in the killing game, he gets to be a script writer/mastermind. Also, Tsumugi is still a mastermind(There are two masterminds)
The 'killing' game is still a show. But there are real death and fake death.(Kaede's death is fake)
When the series first came out, people really like the show, but as more seasons come, people got tired of the show. As such, the show is coming to a end
Meanwhile, Saihara is purely pushing forward the show because he really, really love DDR. But he also hate it as he's basically murdering people.
Guilt-ridden from the death, he write his character(Ingame Saihara) in the killing game in hope of getting killed/murder something so he can be execute
But finally realized it's not the way out, decided to put the series the final nail in the coffin
