New Ball Joint from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASBJ00086
Modern suspensions combine a number of moving parts for safe and stable handling. The ball joint is the crucial moving component that ties those parts together. The ball-in-socket joint can wear out and loosen over time. Or, the rubber protective boot can tear, allowing contaminants to seize the joint. Bad ball joints are a common failure point on vehicle inspections because they lead to unsafe driving conditions. Fortunately, they are relatively easy to replace with the right know-how. This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ ball joints on your 1998-2002 Honda Accord.

It was years ago but i know i replaced that ball joint on my 1998 accord v6 without any special tools at all. Thats all i remember. I never had to cut anything off. I think i used the castle nut to suck that ball joint right on into place. Losened nut back up and re tightened. Good to go.Never removed the boot either.

If you’re attempting to do this repair, one thing he forgot to mention was to install the lower ball joint snap ring. Some Acuras and Hondas Do have it, I think it depends on the model.

For the upper replacement would you recommend the same procedure or would you recommend buying the UCA with the included BJ already installed.

Shops will charge you for what they know and what they pay for tools they’ll never charge by hour fairly always over charge my dad owns a shop and sometimes I feel like he’s charging too much for basic stuff but it true he took the time to learn and earn his certification

Does anybody know what there is to do if the nut from 1:40min doesn’t come off? It keeps spinning and spinning but not getting any looser or tighter.
