Marvel Studios reportedly has a Fantastic Four reboot in the works for the MCU Phase 4 or Phase 5, hopefully revising the elements that fans disliked about the past versions -- the 2015 Fantastic Four (aka Fant4stic) and the earlier Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), which co-starred Chris Evans (before his days playing Captain America Steve Rogers in the MCU) as Human Torch Johnny Storm. But long before these, filmmaker Roger Corman attempted to adapt Marvel's First Family in a low-budget battle with Doctor Doom that has since evolved into cult classic. In New Rockstars' first-ever BOOTLEG BREAKDOWN, America's uncle Tommy Bechtold revisits this disaster film to break down the biggest WTF moments, cringe-inducing scenes, and head-scratching decisions by the creative team. Tommy reveals how the story behind the 1994 Fantastic Four is even more hilarious and entertaining than the movie itself.

It’s unfortunate that it was just a couple years before studios realized the potential in comic book movies
I could definitely get used to these bootleg breakdowns, and Uncle Tommy is the perfect person to do them.

Fun fact: This movie was made simply to keep the film rights before they expired due to inactivity - which is why it was never released.
Even more fun fact the cast and crew were led to believe this would actually get a theatrical release

It’s funny how the studio wanted to hide the film and it’s existence but it turns out to be the 2nd best F4 movie.

@@user-kv2kl3hz6p well I wasn’t a fan of the silver surfer, I think it lost its charm the first one had. It was chessey fun and a joy to watch. The silver surfers tone I thought it wasn’t sure if it was going to a comedy or a serious movie. The gel wasn’t there to me.
The two Chris Evans films were okay, but I'll agree with everyone else that the 2015 film was shit. At least Chris was able to carry the films and they had some charm put in them.

While I agree that The Thing is the best practical effects of the movie I personally think that Doctor Doom is THE most faithful interpretation from page to screen, compared to 2005/2007 and especially 2015 this version from 1994 is actually pretty accurate and the costume literally looks as it was pulled from the comics and made into a 3D costume

@@Metaldjwill2 sue can fly and turn invisible like air. And Reed can move like a fluid, like water. Its a bit of a "stretch", but other people can explain it better.
I remember when this movie was actually being promoted at movie theaters before it was shelved. Great idea! Please do the original Dr Strange movie from 1978 or The Punisher starting a Mr Dolph Lungren

Those guys were Kang and his younger counterpart Nathaniel Richards and they were setting the Fantastic Four up to get their powers so that the timeline would stay on it's correct path.

I've seen the Fantastic 4 from 1994 at least 4 times. To many 4's? It was more accurate to the comics than any of the others. I still enjoy it.

This was actually my favorite FF movie out of the 4 that have been made so far. They are the truest to the comics. Here's hoping that we get a remastered version some day!

I remember watching this when i was a kid. I couldnt for the life of me tell you where or how I seen this, yet I do fondly remember thinking at that time that it was from a much, much older Era than its predecessors. But , you have to give them credit for being decades above the MCU curve 😂

Before watching any of this video I just want to say I'd love to see a vid from you all on how you think the MCU can depict Mr. Fantastic's abilities without ruining it like all the others. I think he's the fly in the ointment, as it works really well on the page but not so much on camera. But again I'd love to hear your thoughts.

This is a pretty good point. Reeds ability sucks ass imo, and it does not seem to convert well on film, yet I still have no solution on how to fix this problem either. Maybe the fantastic 4 was only meant for the pages and it's as simple as that? All I do know is that as long as the superhero movies are trending they will keep trying. Excuse me if I wasted your time.
@@lyricaldeezy4151 I think you're right that they'll keep trying and also that they might only work in the comics. But we'll see. My biggest fear is that Mr. Fantastic ends up being the MCU's white whale/shark jump.

Yeah I bought this badboy on DVD years ago. Marvel fan, FF fan and a Corman fan, so had to do it. So damn good lol
The closer we have to the Fantastic four comics till today.
Its not perfect but it has a charm to it. They really tried with the small budget they had. I still wish we got the body horror Cronenberg type film with the last Fantastic Four film but oh well. At least Josh Trank managed to put Al Capone in the Shining movie.
