wHich TEFL though?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 been asking myself this for weeks! cant decide on one around 1300 that offers a "lifetime advisor" but not direct job placement, or one that's only 2 or 300. tough decision because i feel i could use support in finding a job but not sure
Hello Alyssa, from our experience, you won't need a lifetime advisor for job placement or job support once you have started working in the TEFL world for a few years and gained some working experience. The key question is to ask yourself what is the reason for you to get TEFL qualified - teaching overseas or teaching in native English speaking countries? Which country are you planning to teach in? You will be able to narrow down your decision. Have a look at our Gallery Teachers TEFL courses, which are regulated by Ofqual (UK government body) and externally assessed by telc (telc currently offers more than 100 different examinations in 10 languages and cooperates with more than 2,500 telc partners in 30 countries worldwide). All GT TEFL courses are written and developed by CELTA trainers and experts from British Council accredited language schools. Once you enrolled to any of GT TEFL courses, you get full access to the ELT library with over 100 TEFL CPD workshops. Furthermore, you also have access to Live TEFL webinar twice a month, led by experienced teacher trainers in the TEFL industry, many of which are working in British Council accredited schools, not just some random teachers.
I am contemplating a career change but wondering the order I should go. I keep hearing you have to have at least a bachelors in an English major to be accepted into an overseas TEFL program.Currently I’m not sure if I should go back to school first then get a TEFL cert or just get the cert and work overseas.
Hello Vanessa, this is one of the most asked questions - whether you need to have a degree to teach English. In many countries, you will need a university degree to teach English due to local visa requirements. You do not need a degree in English or teaching. Many of our trainees tend to enroll on our 180 hours TEFL course as it enables them to teach aboard or online, giving them the opportunity to experience in the teaching field. Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Central & South America are great places to look for countries that do not require a degree. Same for Europe for EU citizens. Feel free to join our weekly FREE Introduction to TEFL webinar, where we will cover frequently asked questions about Teaching English as a Foreign Language certifications and how to find your dream English teaching job. galleryteachers.com/tefl-cert/
Hello Rio, all our TEFL qualifications enable you to teach English both online and face-to-face. We recommend starting with our standard Level 3 TEFL course. If you find teaching English suits your career goals, you can upgrade to our Ofqual-recognised or Level 5 qualification. Our internationally recognised and accredited TEFL courses are your gateway to teaching English globally. To find out more about our courses and services: gtefl.com/tefl-courses/
