I rewatched this half a dozen times to figure out why the pawn move was important before I realized: moving the pawn there prevents the queen from swooping in from the south side of the board to intervene in the checkmate. If the queen tried, it would take 2 turns, since it would be stopped taking the pawn. Which means he probably BAITED the queen down there in the first place by leaving his king vulnerable (notice the knight move before the queen swoops in, purposefully leaving a clear route to the 2nd row). WILD

It really just show the cunningness and aggresive style of iron bull and the cleverness of Solas the fact that he let himself vulnerable to deliver the final blow and uses the most weak pawn as the key to success

Ive only just found this, and I'm in love with it! The shot composition, the editing, the chessboard to help chess plebs like me keep track (and looking stunning while doing it)! And the music is wonderfully picked. Especially at the end, with a soft rendition of Solas' theme heralding his victory. Just superb, all around.
