Agreeing with comments by Lorenzo Lamanna, Mark Fisher, and specadmin about bass player carrying everything and keyboard player. Guitar player good, gets two choruses. Bass player is shown a couple times during this (5:36) and later. Musicians are Macedonian. Language of music per Pee Wee Ellis goes round the world.
ALWAYS ALWAYS I DONT KNOW why ?? ALL 🎥 CAMERA ARE ANTI BASS PLAYERS !! I think they are those people who don’t know anything about music fundamentals !!!! Been said that they are people who can t even hear bass properly :.. don’t know if funk music can exist without bass ...
@@joevarvel1776 Really? See Tommy Igoe and the Buddy Rich Big Band "The Chicken" video here on TH-cam. When you get TWO masters doing this it is something else.
a world class big band. Solid and metronomic with plenty of soul. Sounds are beautiful and the solos are jems of elegance and understatement. Truly a winner ensemble. Bravissimi!
This whole band is GREAT. But, I haven’t seen a comment about how great the winds are playing. They are almost perfectly in tune and the runs are in sync. The bass is killing it and connected with his drummer as well. Great keyboard solo. Great band in general.
The ending left me wanting so much more... I wanted to hear a big E-flat dominant 7 then a Bb resolution with the drummer going ape-shit.... This left me wanting so much more!!!!!!!
"Canadian armed forces long distance band" did a great virtual version of this at the start of covid. the "zoom" editing gives a really good feel for the bass, tenor sax etc. and a strong lead trumpet.
Watch this video about 50 times and have wondered why the drummer looks so paranoid. Well he's separated by that f--ing pillar and can't hear the band like he should. Other than that he is spot on. Nice group.
awh man, i was waiting for the high F# on first trumpet. I remember i got to play lead on this tune and it was the first chart i discovered i had range.
Kudos to the rhythm section. Why would you jack up the soul intro like that? The soli section ...epic fail. Why would you omit the bass lead in to the tune when you have a wicked bassist? I guess you don't have any sax players that can improv. So sad
bass player is unsung hero here. Camera never shows him but he puts the whol e thing together!
He rocked the Jaco situation
Yep and keyboard player no slouch either.

As we always do... ;-)
So true, awesome playing!
Great performance, but the the real star is the bass player, who glued together rhythm, harmony, melody and the whole band.
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF THE BASS PLAYER. Plays a crucial role in the band but never gets recognized by the camera LOL 😂
😂😂😂

Sure ! 😉👍😎
Ad so, here > bassist is grooooving !
Sadly, it isn’t as cool in their eyes
Bass players are shy shy creatures
The bass is all over the place!!! Nice groove, bassman!
Very tasty solos!
T-bone at 4:00
No-one has mentioned just how good the drummer is! :)
This is a song where the bass player is supposed to get all of the glory. The drummer is just a glue that keeps the band in the same track.

@@fish4bugs Dave Weckl has two versions of "The Chicken" on TH-cam. Check out the almost insane bass solos of Tom Kennedy.

ALSO .... the Jaco style bass player ... nailing it!!!
Excellent! So much fun! I think that original composer Pee Wee Ellis and Jaco Pastorius would both love your rendition. Thank you!
bass player is having fun:):):) a true hero!!!!!
That Cat on the MM bass is outta sight.Loved it!
Cool. Reminds me of the college and professional bands I used to jam with. Another life with it's own written language. Peace. 🎶
That drummer is smooth as silk, with just the right spices! That whole band is one for the books, Phenomenal job gents! ;-)
Amazing how great a really good guitarist, bassist, drummer and keyboardist can sound all by themselves.
Naughty bass player, OMG your killing it!!
bassist KILLED it !
Great sounding band and the bass player is laying down the groove
Great recording!
Grossartig, einer der besten Versionen, die ich gehört habe. Gratulation!!!
nekoliko puta vas slusam godisnje i uvek uzivam. Mix i stereo su fantasticni

Great work guys, Keep on groovin

Awesome version!
YES YES YES........GREAT JOB!!!! and Thanks!
Bravissimi! Bravo Maestro! Bell'arrangiamento.
Agreed. Bassist is sick.
Thanks for posting! What a great band!!
Incredible performance!!
such a fun interpretation of the song
The bass player is fantastic!!!
Bass man is kicking F ing ass!!!!!
I wish I could like this twice!
Style Jaco Bass. Astonishing!!!!!!!
That guitar solo was AWESOME CITY!!!! Wish I knew who he is?!?!?!?
The ending left me wanting so much more... I wanted to hear a big E-flat dominant 7 then a Bb resolution with the drummer going ape-shit.... This left me wanting so much more!!!!!!!
The coolest of this song is undoubtedly the bass, but it's the only thing that is not highlighted in the video.
Found another act to follow, one of the best versions of this tune

Bravi bravi braviiiii, arrangiamento super x questo the chiken🏅🏅🏅🥂
Excellent!
all comments talking about the bass but the drummer man!
PARABÉNS À TODOS, OS MARAVILHOSOS E INESQUECÍVEIS AUTORES DESSAS MÚSICAS E CONSERTOS CLÁSSICOS!

Great musicians .....👏👏
Indiscutivelmente o baixo é o instrumento mais icônico deste conserto.
Just brilliant excellent musicians
awh man, i was waiting for the high F# on first trumpet. I remember i got to play lead on this tune and it was the first chart i discovered i had range.
Two things:
1. I'm in love with the bari sax!
2. Why was 1st sax the only one play that lick at 2:37? That's one of the best parts of this song!!!
Excellent Ken from gpt ms
Extraordinario, grandes músicos
listen to the bass!
Super band!
BRAVO!
Estupenda big band!!!
solid brassが好き🎺
Sublime 😊
素晴らしいですね😍😍😍
Nice 👍
yes guys
Great organ
Fantastica
Superb
Good , très bon , muy bueno FRANCE
Perfectttttt....
Άψογοι!!!
Kick ass!
smokin drummer !!!!!
nice but the second trumpet was a little bit off some times
In spite of this one (I only heard one) slight timing error, the overall sound of the brass is mighty fine.
L'unica cosa che non va e' che la camera non inquadra mai il bassista. Viva jaco
Great!! Is this arrangement available??
Pete Moore kris@krisbergjazz.com. Also, Alfred Music Belwin Jazz publishes it. Still available.

Don’t forget the bari sax. He’s close to the camera.
que isso Brasil !!! muito bom
Já assisti varias vezes e até hoje não entendo pq não houve um solo do baixo.
Did they just not turn on the aux perc mics?
La camara no enfoca al bajista. es el mas importante en este tema
Does anyone offer the PDF of this arrangement?
Talk to me. kris@krisbergjazz.com
congrats ! excellent job
Where is the bass guitarist?
guitar 5:06
Music Man StingRay
great one, but i think the keyboarder is filling a bit too much in the beginning
I thought it was Mr. Big with Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert jaja
Ha ha!
1rst Trumpet? Wazz up...
I think it was some of the last peaces, because of the high notes.
solos are all very tasty
trombone at 4:40
CARALHOU
Conga player needs to grow a pair
It sounds like they are reading the notes before they play them
2:17 great!!
Ognen Stamatoski lmao sounds extremely clean
51 thumbs down ??? 🥱
y el bajista? the man bass?
The trumpets need some better chops lmao you can hear the struggle😂😂
