Well, Renekton didn't push themselves in an actual trap, it was the Tomb of Emperors, the seal of which was impenetrable. Azir is a good guy, but Nasus is right for doubting him. He is kind of naive, and Xerath had always been aware of that. Plus he's still technically just around 40-50 years old at most, its just that he comes from around 3000 years ago. The expansion of the Empire would have actually went to Valoran, since old Zaun was a Shuriman city, and Ixtal was always one of their greatest allies. Its mentioned in multiple stories that there were a lot of ancient kingdoms in Valoran, that in time, perished. Even before Noxus or Mordekaiser, the Rune Wars ravaged and destroyed complete empires. And before that, it was said the Darkin laid waste to most of the known world and their kingdoms, which probably includes everything besides Ixtal, Ionia and the northern parts of the Freljord. (and ofc thats not even us talking about Camavor) Wars are never ethical, but part of why a war with Shurima is at least somewhat merciful, is because you lose very quickly. Even a single Ascended (there were still dozens of them at this point) can defeat entire mortal armies and take fortresses and cities, which does mean the war won't drag out. The enemy will probably also consider surrender when facing such an overwhelming foe. In your ATLA example, that is clearly not the case, because even though the Fire Nation was strong, they still weren't able to finish the war in a 100 years. The Shurimans could probably conquer Valoran in a decade or so. Yes, Azir absolutely abolished slavery, how did you miss that? Just before he steppe on the dais, he proclaimed that slavery is no more. Unfortunately, Xerath has come to hate him so much by that point, it just didn't matter. Xerath even confirms this to Nasus in the story "Bloodline". Azir probably waited to do this for so long, because they'd have assassinated him. As a god-warrior, nobody could have questioned or abolished his authority, no mortal at least. Its also just a fun mention, but Azir would look completely differently if he were to ascend in the past, since the power meant for him was taken by Xerath. So he wouldn't be a sand bird :D Jax never defeated an Ascended, people always get this wrong. Yes, his bio states it, however his color story sheds light on what actually happened: “I have, Axa,” said Saijax. “We fought one at Bai-Zhek.” “We had to topple half the mountain to put the big bastard down,” Colgrim added. “And even then, only Saijax had a weapon big enough to take its head off.” This is clearly not a fair 1v1. Also not true that all of the Darkin got sealed into weapons. Most of them died during the wars, more than in the Void wars according to Myisha. Only a handful of them were eventually sealed, some they used as weapons against other Darkin, and some they probably couldn't defeat otherwise (like Aatrox). They also used a lot of other dark magics (Xerath is also a dark mage actually), but thats more of a fun fact. I also think its weird you didn't mention what would have happened to Xerath after Azir's ascension, but nevermind. Interesting idea to be honest, it would completely change all of League's story. Azir's death and the fall of Shurima is one of the most important events in the story, after all
