I may be short (5’9) and I’m not the stronger nor most tough/masculine guy. But this is one thing I pride myself on is that I have a very deep, rough, sexy, masculine voice. It’s fun cause it doesn’t match my face at all. It’s tough sometimes cause I can’t really be loud and every time I talk, stuff vibrates like crazy. But I’m a rare case of not hating my voice in a recording. It sounds 80% to what it sounds like in my head.

when I do my deepest voice my friends are like "WOWW THAT'S THE DEEPEST VOICE I'VE EVER HEARD" and when I'm recorded it it sound like baby voice with deep voice effect
another reason is that the way sound travels, it travels through your brain so it travels slower making it deeper but the phone doesnt have something thick like a brain to travel through so it travels through the air in the phone making it a higher pitch than you normally hear
I literally have to turn the output on my end off during voice calls, where they can hear me but I can't hear me, otherwise I start having speech impediments because my brain feels like shutting down or something whenever I hear my own microphone voice while talking
This. You might hate your own voice, because you aren't used to it and it sounds strange, but if your voice would be really that bad I think your friends would try to shut you up, so if they don't that's a good sign :D

To anyone who got really self conscious after this, I'm pretty sure it's more of a psychological thing where you're just so used to hearing your voice at a lower frequency that hearing it played back to you just makes it sound weird to you, but it's likely not something that bothers others

Pro tip: Ask a friend to record your voice one day, make sure you don't say anything that is uniquely yours such as catch phrase or a particular inflection, just some random generic stuff that could've been said by anyone. Then try to forget about it and make aure your friend would play it to you when you least expect it, without warning, just play it to you at random. I bet you're going to like that voice, since you wouldn't know it's yours you will jusge it for what it is.
Your voice will also sound different on recording from people, cause there's a difference between hearing your voice through a speaker vs people hearing it from your mouth.

I'm a 5'8 guy with a feminine voice. I really wish I could change it to a deeper voice. It sounds nothing like what I would expect, and this is why I stopped talking for long periods of time.
For me when ever I here my voice in recordings I show it to other people and they say my voice wounds weird in that recording and the way I sound is the way they here me in real life, so I guess video recordings hate me voice….
