"I found Wendy at a park". So you think, naive human. Wendy found you at a park.
Strays have a way of finding a loving home, sometimes. My last dog found me and my other dog on a walk. He was with his brother. A woman having a garage sale took the brother. That stray dog became the light of our lives. (He was starving though. We fattened him up.) He lived 17 years after we found each other. 🐶 I miss both of those doggies. They became a great team.
I can't help but wonder if she was someone's pet that got out of the house.
@Human 101 that's what shelters are for. There's zero reason to just abandon an animal. There's a special place in hell for people who do that.
I didn't adopt my cat, Peach. She adopted me when she came into my life.
@@muskokamike127 it's sad but where I live if you drop off any animal, even if you found it and it was a stray, you have to pay a fee, but the person could have just found the kitten owners themselves.

Lovely story. I had a female bull mastiff who sadly passed away last year. She was the most gentle soul I ever had in dogs (always had little dogs before her). My husband raised white pigeons and Lady loved them. Great personality and had lots of love for all creatures. I loved this story.

Right after my sweet girl, my 21 year old cat Willow died, my daughter found a kitten and asked to bring him home. He looked almost exactly like Willow. Shortly after my father allowed my daughter to bring him home, (we all live together), my dad was murdered. That cat, Riley, has been like a guardian angel to my daughter, getting her through the greatest pains we've ever felt, including his death and a house fire. I don't know if Riley is Willow reincarnated, but that little dude is most absolutely, a gift from the universe, to be her best friend until his job is done in being there for her. I pray we have so many more years with him. I think he may be an angel in disguise lol. He's a good little guy😊❤

I also have a bullmastiff named George. (Maybe this George is a French Mastiff).
This was an accident. I was initially told he was a bull dog mix but that mix turned out to be mastiff. I live in a 2 bedroom condo and for anyone thinking these cuddly mosters need a big house, don't. He is the perfect condo dog. Low energy, doesn't bark, very anti-drama!
Finding a kitten like that randomly is a miracle.
I saved one from a storm drain near my work hell I even went down there to grab it because it's foot was hurt and that was Six Feet Under the security guard even try to help me which I know that sounds stupid but it was going to rain really bad and we didn't want this little guy getting hurt especially since it was the weekend and nobody can come out to get him but he was really hard to get so instead I went home grab one of my cosplay staff props and turned it into a catchers staff and honestly I've done crazier s*** while working there so my co-workers were not surprised all in all it was a interesting weekend

@Benny G I would say cats are one of the few domestic animals you should get as a kitten because they're more adaptable at that young age but then I remember the cats for my Aunt she got one that was pretty old but was a huge sweetheart and the little kitten that they got and grew with them was kind of a jerk but I think you just never matured past the kitten stage

@@mcsunflower7182 it was just one kitten apparently the mama was there 2 days ago near the storm drain and that's when they realized the kitten was down there but nobody came to get them out and since getting the kitten out of the storm drain no one has seen the mama sense but I took the kitten to the shelter and he was adopted out very quickly he was even named stormy because he was a gray Calico tabby found in a storm drain on a stormy night so at least he's okay in the neighborhood we lived in has a lot of old people it wouldn't surprise me if mama cat was at least fed every other day at least that's what I hope

One dark & stormy night, I knew from my Bouv's behaviour something was up.
For the 1st time, my big boy refused my recall
He stood there in defiance of the torrential rain, thunder & lightning..
looking first at me..
then back to the fence with panicked whining.
I had to bundle up, go out & literally drag my large & uncooperative Bouvier back inside.
Don't worry...
I knew he wouldn't act like that for no reason,
so I went around to the side yard to investigate.
In a flash of lightning, I saw a terrified Momma cat with her litter in the junkpile in the neighbor's side yard.
The more pressing issue was 1 kitten had gotten separated from it's siblings,
& tumbled down into a rain filled fence post hole.
I pulled it out as it went under for what was likely the final time.
I brought that poor nearly drowned black kitten into the house...
dried her off, gave her some food, and the whole time my Bouv was doing a concerned parent impression.
Like it was straight outta the Marc Anthony the Bulldog & Pussyfoot the Kitten cartoon.
When I put her on the couch, "Umbreon" walked over, climbed up onto his back, kneaded her "bed" with her claws, walked in a circle 3 times & fell sound asleep on him...
and he was sooooo proud.
They were best friends for years...
for the rest of his life....
When the end started, she knew there was something wrong with him
Cancer is merciless, caring not for who is loved.
The hardest part for me was that Umbreon couldn't understand....
All she knew I put him in my car & I took her best friend away from her...
and I never brought him back. 😭
She mourned hard...
Eating, sleeping & litterbox habits crashed
She constantly searched the house over & over..
"MurrrrOWWWW" calling for him...
sleeping in & defending his empty bed.
Umbreon HATED me, hissing & fleeing from me for quite a while...
That didn't change till I brought home a puppy...
Pretty sure she thought any human that figured a middle aged cat needs to complicate their life with a Bouvier puppy was crazy...

Yes, they don't have the longest lifespan, but that goes for most large dogs, and nowadays there are a lot of measures you can take to see brachicephalyc breeds grow quite old 😊

George is so patient and gentle, and Wendy is a spunky sweetheart. An adorably oddball pair.
I have a cat named Zeus, and I remember one day I was walking home from school and he followed me. I guess he could smell the leftover tuna fish sandwich in my lunchbox. And ever since I was like “okay, since you wanna follow me, you are my cat.” And he was just like
....”yeah aight.” And we’ve been companions ever since.
I also had a cat named Zeus. He was a tuxedo whose owners couldn't keep him any more due to allergies. When you picked him up he would wrap his paws around your neck and give you a hug and rub his face all over yours. Then your face would be itchy for the next half hour. Worth it.
