Thanks so much for putting the time and effort into sharing this with us so we can easily enjoy the same route without 100s of hours of prep and scouting. Much appreciated!!! I can’t wait to try this with my best friend.
Nice Ride !, I'm 64 with a 15 yr. old son, this looks like an adventure that we can do & enjoy on our recently acquired KLR'S, planning on a trip to the valley of the Gods ( Utah ) next summer, the ETBAR will be a great rout to get in the spirit
Danledbetter, good on you for still riding a dual-sport at 64 and for doing it with your teenage son. Valley of the Gods sounds like fun and yes, the ETBAR will be a good run for practice and working out any kinks in your setup.
Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to put this all together. I'm in the hill country now, but I'm from East Texas. Maybe I'll get to give this a go some time when I'm back home visiting.
Really great video with awesome details, thank you for sharing. I will definitely add that area to my list of places to visit when I travel through Texas from Wisconsin.
I just ran across this. Great content. Your route overlaps part of the East Texas 450. I'm off next week. I may come down from Dallas and ride it. I'm on a black T7 with an amber lightbar if you see me out there lol.
Good Stuff man! I'm from Florida and moved here in the summer 22. Know nothing about this part of the world for riding but looking for nice routes. I'm S of Dallas near Waxahachie. T
Welcome to Texas. I think you would enjoy spending a weekend riding this route. Although I'm not sure I would recommend camping in the summer. Just too hot and steamy but I'm sure you are fully aware of hot and steamy coming from Florida.
Enjoyed your video, thank you. Do you think that your route could be done in a full-size overland rig? I’m from southwest Louisiana and there isn’t much here to run.
You can absolutely do all of this in a full-size rig except for one obstacle which is on FS 333E. To bypass this, in the spreadsheet I provided, on row 87, instead of turning right on 352A/FS 333, turn left and go to 306 and turn right on 306 which will take you to 54 which basically puts you on row 90 of the spreadsheet. This only cuts out about 6-7 miles. I hope that helps. Enjoy yourself out there.
I have a media mod on my GoPro 8 camera. I then plug a mic called the Purple Panda into the media mod and run the mic wire from the camera, up through my jacket, into my helmet right by my mouth (pretty easy to get the mic tucked in just right with a modular helmet). I make sure to use the dead cat (furry thing that came with the mic) to cut down on wind noise. I also try to do record when I'm going slower, preferably no faster than 30 mph.
I don't know of a specific route in the DFW area but I imagine if you do a search on Google or TH-cam for North Texas adventure routes or motorcycle camping or something like that you will probably find some good info. on rides in your area.
I did this without navigation. I only had my GPS with me so that I could create a GPS track for others to follow. I relied heavily on the data in the spreadsheet. So, yes, you can do it without navigation but not all of the roads are clearly marked and some are marked incorrectly on Google Maps. I noted the incorrect ones in the spreadsheet. I would recommend that you use the spreadsheet data to study the route using Google Maps and then use the spreadsheet to follow the route if you don't want to use a GPS for navigation.
@@wanderbynature2508 I have some time off week after next and may go on this ride if you care to join. Would be during the week and I will pay for a space at the Dykes park so you can stay free. You seem cool and would not be offended with any activities performed. Let me know.
forced2Bfree, thanks for the offer but unfortunately I have to work during the week so won't be able to join you. Hopefully you can still do the ride and if so ENJOY!!!

Well done documentation. I appreciate the tracks. I hope to get over that way and check it out before the heat sets in.
Yep, now is the time to do this. Enjoy.

Great ride. Thanks for putting all this together and sharing with us.

I'll have to add this one to the list. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy when you get out there.
I want to get out and do some of this. I need to do some more research on some areas around central Texas Austin area that has routes like this. 😊
A route in Central Texas or in the Hill Country would be awesome. Hopefully you can find one you like. Have fun out there.

This would be a good time of year for a ride. If you make it down, have fun. I'll look for you if I get out there.
Great video all around!

Looks like a nice route I may try this in a couple weeks in my Jeep

Nice route
Thanks! 😀
Do you have a GPX file for this ride? Thank you for organizing this!
I included a link to a GPS track (which is a GPX file) in the description.
Howdy fellow Texan
How on earth do you get helmet audio so well?
I have a media mod on my GoPro 8 camera. @@wanderbynature2508 yeah ive tried many a ways to get helmet audio, very hard. I use dji action cams vrs gopro
Was there any cell phone service throughout the route in the woods or no?
There is cell service but it is spotty.
Any advice for folks in the DFW area this is over 4 hrs from me sadly

I would like to take this route. Are the roads/dirt roads clearly marked and can it be done without navigation?

Not much gear would need to be carried as you can lock it up in my van when we ride and steaks for dinner.
