  • Dip Powder Nail Extensions Tutorial
    In this video I am going to try doing dip powder nail extension on tips with Rossi dip system. I only tried dip overlays earlier and wasn't sure if extensions with dip powder will look good. But it worked!
    Do you offer dip powder nail extensions?

      Mandi Coleman don’t be afraid, I’ve messed up many times and bulky til I got somewhat decent and not bulky with a nice apex. With dipping powders you can make the nails bulky as well as brushing acrylic or gel on. Over the year I made them bulky and figured out a technique for less bulky and more natural. Just practise and if too bulky just file down nail where most bulky. You see I was determined to perfect this system for myself and my clients.

      It’s all in the base application. When I started doing dip, I’m a diyer, I spent more time filing than I care to admit. After 3 or 4 times I’m getting a much smoother application and much less filling time.

    I do my own nails and am self taught. I've been doing the dip system for a little over a year. However, I detest glue on tips, so with the dip powder, the look of the nail really depends on the shape and length of the natural nail. The one pro about dip that I do like is that the color is throughout and will last until you remove them. That may be a con for some people tho but personally I like not having to worry about my color peeling, fading or even scratching. All that being said, I'm now using poly gel with dual forms. My natural nails suck and are very flat and weak. With the forms I can make them as long as I want and they'll have a nice shape, however, I have to paint them, tho I've been watching your videos and will be trying the milk bath or marble next time

    I used to do dip powder nails but the activator was hellish on my asthma. Tried monomer once, near killed me 😂Now I use builder gel, much more lung friendly (although messier).
    I always used to run into issues with my dip nails hurting me after application - almost as if the acrylics were shrinking and tightening. They almost felt like they were applying intense pressure on the nail, it’s something I only ever experienced with dip powder. I didn’t pinch them either but they sure felt as if they were pinching me 😂😂

    Can you do the same but with a solid color? As some colors change when you add more layers. Also would like to see how to cuticle area looks like after that with the solid colors.

    If im adding tips, after I have filed the seam I will apply the gel bass across the nail just at the seam line then dip. That way when I do the next step of dipping the full nail it is nice and smooth.

    Thank you for this tutorial. It was very helpful. I Love dip powder. But I have trouble getting it thin and even and the top coat not breaking off soon. Kinda some of what you talked about in this video. Xoxo. -Lindsey

    What would you recommend when you have a client with a few nails that have splitting issues down the middle of the nails. I have tried gel and acrylic but I haven't tried silk or fiberglass to see if that may help from the natural nail from splitting any more. I just don't know what other options are out there to help to prevent the natural nail from splitting down the middle of their natural nail.

    No clear/natural powder before color powder or encapsulated with clear/natural powder after color powder? I like how you do it but a bit confused?

    • @ZipporahAanael

      Rosie V it could be the system she used. Kiara Sky has a clear dip powder to protect the color when filing. Love that brand.

      Clean it immediately with a tissue. If it's cured already - you're in trouble :)
      Carefully file it off or just wash hand with soap - it will come off eventually

    its too time consuming and not safe for salon work specially since people dip their finger in the powder and might contaminate it. I guess its good for personal use or people who do their own nails.

    • @karenduncan7heartmender
      @karenduncan7heartmender 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Instead of dipping, you can put some in a dappen dish and put that inside a larger dish. Take the spoon part of the cuticle pusher, put it in the dip powder and sprinkle it over the nail. When you are done with the nails, throw out the excess.

    • @ZipporahAanael
      @ZipporahAanael 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes pour it over the nail. Also why is it safer to share polish rather than a dip that is more exposed to air and is dry? If people are concerned about that then perhaps they should be bringing their own products to the salon whether dip or polish anyway.
