Wild Palawan Peacock Pheasant - Palawan Philippines

We hoped to get a fleeting glimpse - at most - of the beautiful endemic Palawan Peacock Pheasant. Instead, we got the chance to thoroughly photograph and film it, and it then followed us around the jungle for a half hour.

Despite their name, peacock pheasants are neither peafowl or pheasants, these small gamebirds native to Asia are members of the genus a Polyplectron, additionally, phylogenetic analysis also revealed that peacock pheasants are not classified with pheasants at all, but are in fact more closely related to peafowl after all, this is because peacock pheasants belong to the subfamily Pavoninae within the family Gallidae, whilst pheasants are any gamebird belonging to the subfamily Phasianinae, within the family Phasianidae, which also includes tragopans, monals, and monal partridges (subfamily Lophophorinae).

Oh god another ophirian wannabe. This is a pheasant not peacocks. They differ in size and plumage. The one that ophir sends to king Solomon are peacocks. This is a Palawan peacock pheasant do your research, libre ang Google kuya Wag tanga! Lol push nyo pa yang ophirian pachuchu nyo kahit Hindi pabor ang mga FACTS sa ridiculous theory nyo na wala naman basehan kundi katunog ng pangalan. Queen Sheba= Cebu? Eh may sibu din ang Malaysia!
