The hunter art styles, deviant system and hunter ranking system all came from frontier.... Also some old monsters revamped stole moves from some of their HC counterparts from frontier such as Teostra's supernova, Cephadrome's ambush rise from the sand attack, Kirin's lightning barrage and etc. Nerf Tonfa's, end game skills, and the monsters health and dps, and you have a standalone really great monster hunter game that fits the main series just fine.
If you remember, A MHF monster was in freedom unite. I didn't think the Hypnocatrice was that hard at all, probably because of it being balanced. Who knows what a more advanced monster like Duremudira would do for the main series.
Keaton Coyne if they put expeditions back in, and let them be infinite, but have a boss monster every 10 sections ( which could be like 3 zones or something, enough space to have a full hunt ) and have each section locked until you've killed the monster in the section, some being really easy and dropping lame rewards, to the almost lvl 140 gq hard monsters you'd be finding constantly later into the expedition, with Duremudira being the secret boss at the 100th section. going in with the skill that stops your stamina from going down would be essential for a journey like that if there weren't many destroyed camps (like what we have at the start of a gq or expedition, but out in the random zones). i've thought about this idea, not the Duremudira thing, but the infinte expedition part for a while now, and i'd love to see something like it come to life one day.

When I first heard of Monster Hunter Frontier and saw gameplay of this guy, It immediately became one of my favorites
Technically, Duremudira has three phases. It’s just that it’s second phase is the exact same theme as the first one.
ice, poison, and corridor 2nd district where it goes nuts and the walls covered in toxic ice.
Duremudira is my favorite monster design wise, and it's up there with theme. Ive never fought it though...
i have it's hell with toxic icicles and multiple deaths
+Hail Hydra
Did you say "Toxic"?
+Noah Hartman yes Toxic
+Hail Hydra But I heard it has a new, strange poison that does something else instead of draining your health... is that right?

This thing doesn't have much similarities to Alatreon....
