  • Hey Ya'll,
I know it's been a while but I'm back! I had to take some time and focus on personal things. One of those things being my decision to freeze my eggs. I decided to bring you guys along in hopes that being transparent about this will serve as insightful and hopefully helpful to many other women. This is definitely a personal choice and I did what felt right for me, it's not the only option that exists, but is the one I chose to take.
    Xo
    Deepica

Very inspiring to see an Indian woman sharing this. We have such huge expectations of us and are afraid of disappointing our parents by not fulfilling them. Living life on our own accord and taking control and putting our happiness first is the new wave. And I’m hoping on the bandwagon. ❤️☺️

That honest conversation you shared between you and your parents about freezing your eggs and things like this being taboo in south asian culture is SO important. I am nowhere near the age of having children or freezing my eggs, BUT this is so important to talk about regardless. I have supported you for years and I admire how honest and open you always are. These kinds of conversations may be awkward and weird to have with parents, but they are important. We need to get rid of the shame and awkwardness surrounding these kinds of topics because a lot of women go through the same things, but are scared to talk about them. I also love how supportive your family is of this process and I am excited to see more videos regarding this new journey of yours. Sending you all my love!

your interaction with your parents and your mum saying she'll support you 110%, come to the appointments and ask questions, made me so teary eyed! I love your relationship with your parents and it reminds me of the relationship I have with mine. I honestly feel super grateful for it because I understand that a lot of people from our background, don't have that with their families.

Love how you included the conversation with your parents and showcased their concern / views. The way you navigated the conversation was incredible - honest, informative, and with the intention to relieve worry. A lot of times having these types of serious conversations can be hard and I think for many women - especially Desi women - it gives us an idea of how to go about these conversations with our parents without it ending up in hurt feelings or strain. Thank you (and the Pandus) for allowing us to see that bcus it really attacks the issue of "taboo" that is constantly put on women in our society. The series as a whole does a great job of this, but this conversation in particular really does a lot.

You have the best parents in the world. You have won the lottery of life with parents like them. I am not suggesting that it was the same for you growing up as it is now. What I am saying is that is my parents were even 3% the kind of people that your parents are, then maybe I won’t feel so utterly alone in life. Well done kiddo.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!!!!! Especially the conversation with your parents that was so powerful❤️ I am 20 years old with endometriosis, adenomyosis & polycystic ovarian syndrome which are the leading causes of infertility in women. I have already had one surgery to slow the progression but I know my only chance of having kids is a partial hysterectomy in my 20's to remove my uterus (keeping my ovaries) and freezing as many eggs as I possibly can before I need to remove my ovaries too. Then, I will hopefully, with the help of a gestational surrogate, be able to have my own baby. I know for certain that I want to be a mother and have multiple children/build a family of my own. I also know I have a long journey ahead of me but motherhood begins with sacrifice and love for our babies, that starts long before they come into existence✨ Everyone's path to parenthood looks different and runs on a different time schedule, for some it's easy for others there are a few more steps involved. Again, fertile women can freeze their eggs as 'an insurance policy' for family planning and still end up getting pregnant naturally so really, if you KNOW you want to be a mother someday, egg freezing is possibly a good option for you☺️
LONG STORY SHORT: thank you, thank you, thank you! The stigma on women taking control of their fertility and family planning needs to end and this is the way to do it. We share our stories, we refuse to have shame or feel it is something to hide from the world. I wish you all the best and your own beautiful healthy babies on your own time with a loving partner🥰
