  • This is a pretty typical use case for my toolcat/muskox setup. 2-4" on the ground, large berms from the city plows, and blowing snow. I've cleared 75 driveways putting about 160 hours on my toolcat so far doing this. We've gotten close to 200" so far this year.

@Allupsnowblowing After about 200 driveways have you had any particular issues or things you'd change on the blower? I have a toolcat and am looking into the muskox

Hey Dan. No issues. I have gone through a fair amount of normal wear parts, but I have cleared hundreds of driveways with it. As for changing, sometimes the dual auger chain tensioner gets loose but we check it before we go out each time. Have to tighten it a couple times a season. Additionally, it tends to leave a fair amount of snow on the road. With the right technique you can prevent this, but I would it collected snow more effectively.

Running an urban snow removal business, do you have backup machinery? Could you describe what’s necessary to have in order to accommodate equipment failure? Thank you kindly

Hi Gary, yes I have a complete backup machine. I would say when you are just starting out you have to have two machines, because they do break. My best recommendation for accommodating equipment failure is to make sure you (or someone on your team) is very mechanically inclined so you dont have to rely on your dealer when something breaks.
