Running Fox 2.0’s with a BDS 6 inch lift on my Excursion! Dual shocks up front and dual stabilizers. Basically 6 shocks on the front end! Couldn’t be happier with the ride.
Well you know I kinda want the fox but I don’t want to have my shocks rebuilt every 30,000 miles. I can’t afford that. So I’m thinking maybe some bilsteins but I’m having trouble in figuring out if they will require the same maintenance schedule
I'm married to a great tax attorney, I give her my paperwork and receipts and let her have at it. In the last video you asked was my college degree worth it. My answer was no. The only time I actually use my mechanical engineering degree is on my truck builds. Calculating the shock valving and spring rates gives me the best shock tuning and ride possible. So I guess it was worth it. (Maybe)
If it rides like shit then you’ll either want shock extensions or longer shocks. Shock extenders helped a ton in my ‘15 but I’d really like longer shocks
I'm using the Rough Country V2s. Firmer ride than the N3s on a 18 F250 with 4 inch lift. So far i like them. Maybe i'll upgrade by end of year but for now these do just fine
While I agree, not everyone has access to an appropriate welder/adequate knowledge in cutting off the OE shock mounts on the axles, and welding on new ones. So its a catch 22
Hey I plan on lifting my 05 Silverado 1500 with a 6inch lift. What size rims and tires would fit perfect on them? I like the moto metal rims 20x10 but idk what size tire?

I’m running the Rough Country N3 shocks and I like them but I really want some Fox shocks, my problem is that they don’t make fox shocks for a 2wd 03 Ram 1500.😥 no coilovers either.
I would definitely buy some FOX or KING coilovers for my 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 10in MCGAUGHYS lift kit if they made that length 19+ GM 1500 . They only make up to 6in Lift length, not a fan of stacking spacers
I am trying to find 4 in lift kit for 2008 Chevy 2500HD Duramax to lower the center diff and align cv axles correctly... Do you have suggestions? tow my 5th wheel rv and want some better handling overall.

I haven’t heard of them needing rebuilds/replacing quite as frequently as fox

rough country N3 are decent budget shocks... $100 a set you can't complain. haven't tried the monotube shocks yet...

It never hurts to upgrade, especially with messing with suspension, keep that ride quality of the newer trucks!

How long will a good shock last?
So many variables go into that. On a typical truck that tows occasionally and drives daily should last years and years with no issues
