This is such an important video to me. I'm non-binary and my transition is so uncertain for me, so seeing a video about a non-binary person taking hormones and discussing the changes is so so important for me. You're a massive inspiration for me and this just gives me a lot of hope.

I want to say thank you to you for this video. I am in the UK, I am afab and trans but hesitate on giving myself more of a label for many of the reasons you've described in your videos... I know deep down I want a more masculine appearance but I have been terrified of "what if it's the wrong thing for me" about testosterone because of how other people would feel about me changing so much... and also I didn't want to change too much. I don't want to be super buff and hairy and manly. I just want to be me and I know the real me is a softer version of masculinity than that. Before seeing you talk about how non-binary people sometimes take lower doses of testosterone than trans men, I didn't even think this was an option. You've given me a hope I hadn't known I needed.
Hey, I know this comment is 3 years old, but I just wanted to say I feel very similar to this. I'm also trans and see myself as non-binary, yet I've been very hesitant with testosterone because I never wanted to be super masculine and was afraid that would happen once I took T. Now through a lot of self reflection and seeing all kinds of different people both online and in person I am confident in wanting to go on T after all. I've realized that a lot of how you are perceived comes down to things like how you dress and present. This means to a degree that without T I would never "pass" as a guy (I'm afab) but it also means just because I go on T I doesn't mean I'll be masculine or look super masculine in style. Basically you can change how you are perceived a lot but some things that would change on T I will never be able to change on my own without hormones.
TL;DR I'm transmasculine non-binary (afab) and willl be going on testosterone soon because I am very dysphoric about being perceived as a woman and have realized that going on T will not make me some super buff hairy manly guy and it will not change who I am as a person :D

wow when i started questioning my gender i spent a loooot of time watching your videos, they made me feel a lot of hope and comfort. this was about 3 years ago, it was a very hard and dark period for me, and now i am starting testosterone next month and am in such a happy moment in life, i wish my past self could know that is gonna be okay

You/your instagram and TH-cam channel helped me realise that I’m agender in March 2018 (I was almost 28 years old). And you/your instagram and TH-cam channel has also been helping me realise that I want to start a low dose of T. I had decided a few months ago that I want to be on T, then I got really scared of the unknown (things like, “what if I look comical because I’ll look like a 5 foot tall dude?” “What if I start to think I’m really ugly?” “What if I can’t sing well anymore?”) and i decided against it. But I’m back to wanting to start a low dose. One of my close friends is intersex/trans man and has been on T for years. He helps me understand any fears that I have of the unknown. And I’m also in therapy.
The thing is, I really do like things like makeup and nail polish, but I feel like when I experiment with those things I just look like a cis girl and then it’s assumed that I’m hetero (which often attracts gross, bigoted cis het men). So I tend to hide in my oversized hoodies and settle with people just assuming I’m a butch lesbian. But I’m so tired of that. Even then, people still assume I’m a girl. I just turned 29 years old and I’m ready to love my body and who i am!
Omg the singing part is so me. I am not even out but I think about T because I want some of the things but I love to sing and I am affraid that my voice will sound bad If I start T
missed you a lot!! One of my best friends is starting this whole process and you've really helped me understand more about what it means to be trans and what its like to go through it so hopefully i can support her in more ways because of you. Thank you

Glad to hear you're doing well. I remember when you started t, I was a long way from being able to start t and I recall crying and just stopping the video because I couldn't see that ever happening for me. But I did start T and was on it for about 6 months (I'm also non-binary). I've noticed that oing to hrt helped me to feel more calm in my presentation, like I don't have to try so hard all the time to be read as male, so I feel more free to express myself (I sometimes call this "gender chill" in my head lol). It helped me feel more in control of my body and life. I don't know what my point is here, but I hope it's helped you similarly. Good luck with school!!

Great video chandler! I totally understand where you are coming from with the low body dysphoria and high social dysphoria. I actually pass mostly (not on T) as unreadable but sometimes I don’t and it’s really hurts even when it’s just a few times so if it continued to happen for me a ton I would definitely feel even more trapped by how others see me and my social dysphoria would be sky high/unmanageable. My body dysphoria is medium to mild and binding covers it for me mostly, however I’ve had really bad days when I can’t get up/don’t move because I get frustrated by my body being the way it is/having a visible chest that doesn’t match my own perception of who I am.

ChandlerNWilson 💓💓 that’s means a lot. It’s hard sometimes for me to feel okay even when my dysphoria is mild to medium, just because idk it’s hard to deal with either way. But, im also happy that my super bad days don’t happen a lot, and I’m the end I know that I have people I can reach out to if I need to and I just take it a day at a time

You probably, like me, have a coarse hair texture. I have curly and wavy hair when it's long, but straight when it's short. The weight when it's long helps allow it to curl, but the coarseness keeps it straight when short.

Random thing, do you know about ace rings? I’m considering getting one myself.
That's my biggest concern with T is all the physical changes i WOULDN'T want... my biggest cause for dysphoria that T would change is my voice and my very feminine/baby face. I wouldn't want a beard, i definitely wouldn't want my downstairs to start changing/getting amped up (mainly because of my sex repulsion)... so I'm pretty much calling it that i wouldn't want to go on T just bc of all the unwanted changes that come with it
I can completely understand that. The thing putting me off possibly getting E in the future is fat redistribution and breasts. I feel that would make me more dysphoric. Everything other thing that happens on E, I'm either fine or would really prefer, but it's definetly not worth it due to the creation of more dysphoria
