So I saved this video last year when I first started looking into tie dyeing, now one year, big money, hundreds of videos, and a few cool shirts later, I just ran in into it again and watched fully. I had it in the back of my head the whole time and yes, it's my favorite! Best vintage tie dye, still my favorite. Reverse Zep you made the ultimate shirt in case you didn't realize.💎💎💎
@@igotdyeonit - You deserve any kind of generous donation. I've bookmarked your video and am processing a t-shirt with your technique tonight. Your video is the reason why Dharma got some extra business and one extra customer signed up and is happy her dyes are here!! Woohoo! Your tutorial seriously grabbed my attention. Great job!
Amazing tutorial! I'm not looking to dye anything but the thumbnail caught my attention and I ended up watching the whole thing! Very satisfying wow thank you.
😱😱😱 I’ve been waiting for this version. your shirts with this design always come out so good (well all of your tie dye does but these are unique). you should start a fashion line
I’ve watched many tutorials on tie-dye and you’re my favorite account. You make everything so easy to follow and your designs are amazing❤️❤️❤️ thank you for the videos
this is some legend shit that I just stumbled upon but dude you need some background music. I'm too high to be sitting here and quietly watching you do your craft lol
I really love your work! I came across one of your videos a couple of years ago. I instantly was all in and had to try this! (I have a small boutique, I design jackets, tees, jewelry, hand bags and of course SHOES!) The way your videos it all seems so effortlessand easy peasy! Lol. I've lost count of the times I've watched that video. But, your system is made everything so smooth. Your instructions, were spot on! It only took me 2 years to get it all ready!🤣 I made 5 shirts in all sizes/styles and they came out fantastic! Thank you for inspiring me ! All of the current issues we've had to change so much to adapt. It really took my blocked creativity. So thank, thank you, thank you for sharing! I'm back to loving what I do. Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to share what my experience because of your video! ♡
I love how this comes so naturally to you.. I'd imagine it took years of practice but you can tell it's in your soul to do this. Absolutely brilliant.. do you do orders? I would LOVE a custom one for my bf ❤️❤️❤️
This is some astounding work! For the zeppelin shirt, going sleeve in sleeve instead of simply folded in half would provide better bilateral saturation distribution. Sleeve in sleeve leaves the pleats 'front front back back' instead of the 'front back back front' you get from a normal fold. You probably needed it like this for the logo, but thought I'd mention it anyway. Beautiful stuff!
There’s something super satisfying about the sounds during the parts where you’re evening out the pleats - it reminds me of shuffling a deck of cards. Nice work though!
I have been making Tie Dye shirts for decades and make jerseys for our teams with lot of experience but this is unique. well done. I will try this next. Very good quality video and kept my attention. thanks for your efforts.
Okay but HOW do you make the pleating look so easy!? I literally almost smashed my face into my table 4 times because my stupid pleats keep folding on themselves because I put too much pressure. You're a God damn Goddess!
im willing to buy diy kit for tie dye. Gosh, i really want to do this. And, having a kit complete with a shirt, all the colors, and other stuff will be so much more convenient.
I’m totally here for it. The placement seems key. Just wonder what it would look like if they’d let the bleach marinate longer….the colors are still poppin.🤙🏽
@@igotdyeonit if i use this pleating technique on a white T-shirt, just doing "regular" tie dye, if it would still look cool like the reverse tie dye? 🤔
Great job! Those pleats are really well done - so accurate! A couple of thoughts: * Turn the shirts inside out, so you aren't risking damaging the prints with the bleach. * Jacquard DeColourant and other discharges pastes/liquids can give a much whiter removal of dye and means no messing about with bleach. However, this needs a change in process as it needs the shirt to be ironed and dried, then tied again before applying dye. On the flipside, you get brighter colours and the black t-shirts usually hide any coloured dye overruns. * Finally, remember that bleach essentially destroys natural cellulose fibres like cotton, so you're right to get the hydrogen peroxide on there ASAP! I've destroyed several shirts by waiting too long for the bleach to do its thing.
Hey, thanks! I folded them like that because I need to make sure the graphic is centered right. If I were doing a blank I would have flipped inside out and folded the shirt with the front in the middle of the fold. I tried using decolourant, white out, rit color removal but I can’t stand how it smells lol I also think bleach gives more control on how the outcome will be, I feel like it’s less work.
This was wow. No other word for it. You're so talented!!! I was just wondering, how do the backs of the t-shirts look? Are they the same pattern, or plain?
i recently reversed several shirts all spirals with some frustration. it is hard to control the amount of bleach on loosely tie spirals.so ended up with too little black in spots. still looked great and sold them but i am going to change to your patterns that will be fan folded and i will have more control. i was told to bleach to a pale peach color . do you think this is too light. i do neutralize. thanks much look foreward to hear from you. you did such a beautiful job!
FYI you probably want to wear gloves for the bleaching and hydrogen peroxide part because bleach isn't great for the skin and hydrogen peroxide is extremely drying to the skin and can be caustic in high concentrations. You will probably be fine without them, but you will probably be better off with them, especially if you plan on doing this often.
Yeah, I was thinking that too, but then I thought, nah, that would be me not wearing gloves for that part. It's not like dye, there's no evidence that you blew off safety standards!
hello! congrats on your fine work! 💜 i have a question: do you know if i could do the neutralizing process on fabrics that i bleached 1+ year ago? is there any chance that it'll work ?
I’m going to do this today on 3 black t’s and 2 greens. My question is you say to wash on cold, which I normally do but I don’t understand the hang dry thing. Is it necessary to hang dry them or can you just tumble dry them? I didn’t think the colors run in the drying process, and will they run if you hang dry them initially but regular wash and dry them after the fact.
Thank you, simply thank you! I do have a question in regards to how you put on the bleach. Am I correct you did every other block you bleached, then you flipped and bleached the opposite blocks?? Thank you.
This is an awesome tutorial! Thank you :-) Just wondering if the "blue dawn" detergent has any special characteristics because we don't get that in New Zealand, can I just substitute for any only liquid washing detergent?
Hey thanks! What’s special about it is that it has synthropal in it. Try looking for just synthropal and hopefully you can find some. I wouldn’t say it’s too necessary if you just rinse out very well
i got a question for you... on the led zeppelin one, is the back of the shirt dyed too? i noticed on my bleach dyes that exposure to oxygen is a big factor for releasing the color the shirt started out as. gonna try this method soon! thanks for the vid!
The sound when he is pleating the shirt in fast-forward is the best! Great how-to instructions too!

Thank you!! It will stain your sink if you let your dyes just sit in there for a while. If you rinse off your sink right away it should be fine.
