For the first inagurual race at the Roval, it's the best one all season and will always be remembered. This is the race that will get more fans into NASCAR
Much more of racing like this will bring fans like me BACK to Nascar. They lost me many, many years ago to Formula 1 and other such, much more skilled and technical road racing. Unfortunately most of that is done outside the US. It would be great to see Nascar bring that kind of experience widely to the US.

First Nascar Race in my life (iam from germany) & that Race just stunned me . Even the start of that Race, national anthem + c130 & so on .... iam even now impressed . Thanks for that awesome Show!
Too bad it was 110% into a corner apex that required more like 85% and some braking to about 45% to make the chicane lololol. Classic mistake coming in too hot like that. Never see that in F1.
can't believe it ( not blaming johnson) johnson was so close to making it to the next round of the chase but i have absolutely no problem with jimmie being that aggresive, he wanted that win so badly that he would even wreck truex on accident! now that's what i like in a driver if they have a chance at the win take it (but in this case jimmie didn't make it through to the next round) but nonetheless jimmie did a hell of a job sticking with truex at the end!
Every time I come back and watch this I can't help but appreciate how great of a commentator Dale Jr really is. Burton's over here screaming about points and the battle for 20th and Jr's just like shut up about the points we're about to have a great finish here. That's what I love to see. At the end of the day.... who cares about points, when you have a great race/finish unfolding.... That's what truly matters.
I wanted Truex to win because I'm a Truex fan but at the same time I wanted Jimmie to get a win but this is the worst possible thing that could have happened.. I'm happy for Ryan winning but it should've been Truex or Jimmie..
Jimmie Johnson is my #1 in NASCAR, and I would have been satisfied with a Truex-Johnson finish (Because Jimmie would be 8th in the play-offs and it would have been his best finish of the season, then going to Dover, his best track, with momentum, which is also the place of his most recent win) , and overly hype with a Johnson-Truex finish (because he'd have broken a 51 race winless streak. Truex is the only one of the big 3 that I respect (He lost some of it after he hit and spun Jimmie post-race tho). But yeah, this is the worst thing that could have happened to the pair of them
Really good race, amazing classic finish, love this track. Happy it delivered. KEEP IT, I WANT MORE. People just need to remember just because we don’t get this finish all the time doesn’t mean a race sucks

I became a fan of blaney after Earnhardt JR. retired,told myself he’s my new guy I liked everything bout him. This was the first race I had been too since JR retired,never watched him grab a win. I came close once at the 600 when he ran out of gas on the backstretch. So FINALLY being there in person to watch my favorite driver win was unforgettable,not to mention the WAY he won seeing as I hate truex JR
Finally. I've been watching the last four weeks waiting for either Kyle Larson or Blaney to win one. Sucks for Jimmie though, he deserved that one. Matter of fact a lot of guys did.

As a huge Johnson fan, I went to work on my model railroad after this race to help get my mind off the finish, and I managed to cut the very tip of my pinkie off on my left hand which will hinder my guitar and violin playing, and I have a big violin-related thing at school this week. And now the Raiders are losing to the Browns. What a crappy afternoon.
More road courses and short tracks please. Need to adapt to the trash aerodynamic era were in and that’s the way to do it. Get rid of some of these trash mile and a half tracks that get 2 races a year. Will probably help the attendance a bit. Not saying toss the tracks completely , but limit it to 1 race. Need more stuff like THIS
That looked like old school racing, before the god-awful chase, when drivers drove their hearts out for the win instead of pinching points. My hat is off to Jimmy for surrendering his precious spot in chase to give the fans an actual race. Probably an easier decision when you have 7.

NASCAR finally added another road course to the schedule and look at how great the race was. I've been wanting more for years and I know most of the fans want more also. Some of the most entertaining races in recent years have been on the road courses. NASCAR has the longest schedule of any racing series in the world, 36 races. The fact that most of those races are ran twice and are cookie cutter 1 1/2 mile ovals is crazy when they could be racing on more road courses. When the contract for the tracks is up in a couple years NASCAR has to seriously look into adding the Daytona road course in the future and adding a couple more permanent road courses.
So basically, Blaney won this Race in the same way that Justin Haley won the Truck Race in Canada... The 2 Guys in front of him spun on the last corner, and was there to take advantage of the 1st win at the Roval...
Part of racing is being in the right place at the right time. How did Richard Petty win his 6th Daytona 500, the leaders crashed. Kyle Petty won his first race when the top 4-5 crashed. Geoff Bodine won his frist race when Earnhardt and Rudd crashed on the last lap.....Need I go on?
I was rooting for Jimmie all day. I just knew he would win this race. Good lord was I wrong. I mean, good for Blaney, but this finish made me sick to my stomach. And the fact he got eliminated was like rubbing salt in the wound. I just hope my home state next weekend give Jimmie redemption. He's tamed the Monster Mile 11 times, and he can do it again. I hope.

What a bad/rookie move by Jimmie.. at 1:10 in the video, when he made a move to the inside, he was losing control and had to hit the brakes... never had a chance of winning.
I give Jimmie a lot of credit. He laid it all on the line even if it was going to cost him a playoff spot. Race car drivers with that mentality earn my respect.
If McMurray won the race, it would've been the true wild card race. McMurray is the biggest wild card in NASCAR's recent history, it would've been perfect!
Who remembers fall of 2006 when Ryan's father, Dave won a Busch race because the leaders wrecked in front of him, then he got passed by Kenseth who also spun out giving Dave the win, which was the fall Charoltte race btw, I remember watching that one, must be a Blaney thing lol but way to go Ryan!

Carried WAYY too much energy into that turn, I think he got into the 'battle' and forgot it wasn't a banked left oval.
