MAN & PREGNANT WIFE KILLED IN FATAL ACCIDENT AT CHUMOÜKEDIMA’S 7TH MILE.

- A fatal accident claimed the life of two people on 20 January at Chumoükedima’s 7th Mile at around 8:50 p.m. The accident occurred as the driver of the Alto 800 bashed inside the truck parked at the National Highway, 7th Mile, opposite to Nayara Petrol Station from behind. It was reported that there were two people in the car, a husband and a pregnant wife where both died at the spot. Seeing the situation, the public immediately informed the police department to come to the spot, and some spectators told NLTV that the driver was alive for at least one and half hours after the accident, but it was a total failure from the side of the department to save one life and blamed if they had reached at time or had given the responsibility to the public to carry the driver to the nearest hospital. On the other hand, one police personal said, "I have to speak to my officer" and didn't move him for timely treatment.

The traffic police should stop the traffic checking in the middle of the highway immediately! Which is causing accidents! Yes it’s the speed sometimes but the trucks parked on the highway is causing more chaos.

There are some trucks which has no back lights....Sometimes we cant really see those parked trucks because our 4lane street lights are always off
The lack of street lights lighting up is the main issue.. Those high beams coming from the opposite direction without the backing of the street lights is a highway straight to the heavens..

The notion that "most people prefer to watch instead of helping" arises when others are already providing assistance, making onlookers feel unnecessary to intervene.

Police are more concern about collecting chalans from trucks and two wheelers. The traffic police should monitor the speed limit and check random parkings. Our police and traffic police does their duty only when it is all about chalan.

One cause of such accident is also because of no street light besides overspending. Vehicles park on the highway should not allowed. Many accident occurred so far coz of vehicle parked on the highway. Traffic should check all those parked vehicles and street lights, speeding cars etc.
