Thank you dear friend :) I wanted to make sure the titles and credits theme sounded scratchy and demonic as well as to have a driving momentum to them. I used my favourite 5 beats to the bar and every scratchy-sounding instrument I could find.

The speed and rhythm aligned well with the slightly out of focus and washed colours, and the close ups of faces hint at a classic English horror / comedy , something akin to The League of Gentlemen.

I washed out the green in the woodland because it appeared way too verdant otherwise - In the story 'Old Hobb's Park' is described as looking 'desiccated,' due to it being cursed land, so I had to make it look less lush. I wanted to get as close to black & White on the greenery as I felt I could get away with. The nice thing with the editing software I used is that I could isolate particular colours like this.
I tried to make the film as in-focus as I could, but some shots failed in this a bit. If I make another film, I'll try to get a better camera operator 😉 I think TH-cam might compress video footage more than Vimeo as I wonder if things don't look a little softer on TH-cam in general - or it might be my imagination.
I do draw on classic films in parts of the film and give them little nods, though I try to change context or place some sort of twist on them. There are Easter Eggs to look out for in the film, but not just for their own sake - I only included them when they serve the film and don't distract. Films such as Hammer's "Quatermass and the Pit," David Lean's version of "Great Expectations," and "Jurassic Park" have subtle little nods to them 😊 "Psycho" and "Citizen Kane" are less subtle Easter Eggs but still serve the story 🤭

@@davidgreen424 - I hope you enjoy watching it 😀 I aimed for atmosphere and suspense rather than horror, and how people might be motivated and affected in a haunted or cursed environment. Having said that, a couple of cast members who have seen the film have reported it making them jump a couple of times 😊
I also love Hammer Films, especially the earlier ones and the stand-alone ones. I also adore the ressurected Hammer films of recent years - though they have changed hands again recently so we await the direction the new management might now take them in. My favourite Hammer films include; "Quatermass and the Pit," "The Abominable Snowman" (terrible title wonderful film) and "Curse of the Werewolf." The main titles of my film went for a Hammerish vibe.
Of Vincent Price films, my favourite is probably "Theatre of Blood."
