▬ A NOTE ON USING LED LIGHTS AS HALOGEN BULB REPLACEMENTS ▬
Aim your headlights AT LEAST once a year and ALWAYS after replacing the bulbs.
If the cutoff is bad or you can’t aim them accurately or the light output scatters, it is NOT safe to use. Try a different style of LED or one with a lower output that will be more compatible with your light housing. See my other videos for more reviews.
When I use the word “headlights”, I am referring to legal off-road use or fog light use only as replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal nor a DOT approved practice. This video is only for informational purposes for using LED lights legally. Check your local laws and regulations.

Just replaced my SL1s .. one unit died after 4 years. Didn't ponder what to buy I went directly to the DD site and found the SL2 Pro :)) Still smilin'
My favorite thing about the Diode Dynamics SL2 PRO is that they should fit under most vehicles dust caps and retain some heat inside the housing for the winter time. I'd like to see some manufacturers put out 3000-4000K color temps!
My favorite thing abou this diode dynamic is about the plug and play aspect and thank you again for the detailed review!
I am hugely thrilled to hear not only u observe the actual lux measurement, the light retention overtime, the actually wattage, AND I am very thrilled to see the real kelvin temperature measurement as well.
This is what we are waiting. And it’s all thanks to u man. ❤️🔥❤️🔥👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I truly wish that if I can subcrice to u multiple times 🤣🤣🤣🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
SL2 pro will be my new high beam. Just installed 2 stroke 4.0 and that was a task in itself die to confines. I like the compact design and want a little more kick with the high and this fits my requirements perfectly. Lifetime warranties are also a big plus Thanks for the factual info you pass along all based on real test data
The SL2 Pro is a solid choice for compact size and quality, no question.
My favorite thing about the Diode Dynamics SL2 Pro is the TST LED design.
My favorite thing about Diode Dynamics SL2 Pro is their Quality and their reliability. I can always trust they will work out of the box and provide an excelent light pattern.
My favorite thing about the diode dynamic SL2 pro is , the tst led chip how it have the positive and negative connector at the top so the led chip can manage the heat properly., and the fan at the top .
I went with the new Morimoto 2.0 4 Stroke LED. Lifetime warranty and perform very well in my Challenger.
My favorite thing about the diode dynamics sl2 pro is the unique design
I like these comparisons, I would like to see someday that these bulbs are tested on distances as well, if it helps you see better at night driving as well.
I wish I could in a consistent manner, but it would be difficult. However, I am trying to come up with a way to do it.
NO WAY!!!!! U got ur hands on thr SL2??!!!!
I was hoping for Lasfit lol it’s ok, but I was also expecting SL1, nah we got SL2!!
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I have the sl1. within the first year, one went out, got it replaced. now the other just went out, going to order the sl2 pro
My favourite thing about these lights is how they work in a projector headlight.
Awesome job Jason 👏 Your reviews are absolutely top notch
Thanks!
My favorite thing about diode dynamics sl2 pro is the compact size
My favourite thing is that this is an integrated unit with less failure points and lifetime warranty, AND that the chipset is even closer in dimensiins to the halogen filament. It will better ensure that the beam pattern is in compliance as designed by the manufacturer.
My favorite thing about the Diode Dynamics SL2 Pro is the lifetime warranty and excellent customer service!

@@CarLightReviews sweet!!! I'm emailing now! 😁
@@quicksilver2102lifetime warranty means the expected lifetime of device which is 2-4 years. Read the fine print you will see. Sorry about the false marketing
Good video as always!
Appreciate that
My favorite thing about the diode dynamics - SL2 pro, is the real observation about the color temperature measurement and the construction of the led bulbs that they put in.
Because it’s very very intriguing and super satisfied that they put so much effort into this.
As a Lasfit enthusiast, this brand is indeed the best. That’s my honest opinion from me to Diode Dynamics: 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
These sould have an advantage in the winter for melting snow in the lights
i luv new led Review ! Keep up the good work
hugs from Brazil
Thanks!
How do they compare to the SL1s?
When I did the Auxilam H11 test I touched the heat sink and it was pretty hot, and I was thinking to myself wish that heat can be sent to the front of the housing. But I wonder if all that heat sent to front the LED chips won't last long? Or produce poor light output?
My favorite thing is that it's a significant design change. They must have tested it well enough to give a lifetime warranty.
My favorite thing about the Diode Dynamics SL2 Pro is that they are already in my car, replacing an SL1 pair with one fading bulb. The lifetime warranty will be much appreciated.
I might be late for this,
But MY favorite thing about
The Diode dynamics sl2 pro is that it has an awesome cutoff line, allong with the easy plug and play system
Mind you I have all there products on my F150 and never had I problem with any of them, KNOCK ON WOOD
Thanks for sharing! The giveaway is long over, but I am sure that DD sees your comment! :)
Lifetime warranty. Can’t beat that. Buy once, cry once.
Lifetime warranty = lifetime of expected life which is 2-4 years . Its misleading marketing
My favorite thing about the diode dynamics sl2 pro is the unique design and the lifetime warranty.
Would it be possible to get a test on dual beam bulbs that have the high and low in one bulb? I have h13’s and I feel like the same bulbs that I try after watching your videos have a bit different performance. I know it varies from different housings and such but I feel like there might be some differences between the performance of a single beam and dual beam bulb. For example between the bulbs I've tired some use one led chip for low and the other chip for high beam. Other led bulbs use one chip for low and both chips at once for high. It makes the spread really wide when they use both at once.
Been looking to replace an outdated HID conversion kit on my Ram projector headlights. Would you recommend the SL2 pro over another set of HID, or stay with an HID set? If so any recommendations can the crap eBay ones out there?
I keep meaning to test HID vs LED, and I WILL get to it in the near future. So as I have been saying, the jury is still out on if LED has surpassed HID...but it is also not an apples to apples comparison. HID bulbs lose approximately 70% of their power over their lifespan, so it they are old it might be better to try replacing them first and see if you notice any improvement.
Great review!
Great light!
Price not so great!
Greetings, can you review on any 4500k LED light. Imo 4500k colour temperature LED works best at both dry and raining season due to warmer colour temperature but not to warm to affect the aesthetic and the brightness.
He did , look up DDM tuning Sabre pro accu v2 , he reviewed them in 6000k, same light is available in 4300k.
Waiting on your review for the Boslla AIO (the new ones with the "rabbit" logo).
Have you considered a AIO design shootout?
Do they flicker with Auto Start/Stop?
Have you guys seen the deer this winter and the change in their beautiful coats ?
What are some good h13 led bulbs? I want to get good ones that aren’t hundreds of dollars. Are lasfit or auxito good?
Take a look at my spreadsheet at carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs and review/compare the data based on the categories that are important to you. That should help!
Lasfit and Auxito are the best brands for ur buck. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 me and my family run with Lasfit and Auxito on our Toyota and Scion
Could you please test the Novsight N62 bulb ?
can you test the focusyk s1 series led from amazon or the holyknight from luxster

My favorite thing about the Diode Dynamics SL2 Pro is to get some free goodies
Thanks but the giveaway ended a while back. Sorry! I plan to do more in the future. :)
@@CarLightReviews Thanks. I take them goodies later. Until then
Love your content but surprised to see you conflate temperature and total heat output. A bub in theory could be 1 million degrees and put out 1 watt. Conversely a bulb could run at 150° and output 300 watts.
I am not relating heat and wattage together, I am only listing the observed measurements of each category, one after the other. Or did I misunderstand your question? If so, tell me more about your thoughts. Thanks!
My 2014 tahoe uses h11 will these fit?
How do these compare to the fahren termitor?
See the 13:40 mark of this video. ☺
Diode Dynamics makes high quality parts, but this bulb is tough pill to swallow. Small improvement over halogen for 5x the price.
Anyone have these in a new Tacoma? Like 16-23?
Be the first…. I’m bout to use these on a second Gen taco 🌮
Diode dynamics SL2 or Diamond Vision F9 ? Help me decide, which one?
Both are excellent. But with that lifetime warranty, definitely DD SL2 pro.
would this still blind the crap out of other drivers when used in a halogen reflector? less than other bulbs it sounds like?
There's a few factors to that. It really comes down to compatibility of the reflector wit the light that is being replaced. The other aspect is how well the lights are aimed. Even a old worn out halogen can blind oncoming traffic if it is not aimed correctly.
@@CarLightReviewsthe company claims these are designed for reflector style headlights🤷♂️
@@jessiewhite7783 Where do they state this?
My favorite things about the Diode Dynamics SL2 is that it was made in the U.S, which means the spec are 100% real so you’re not getting scammed and they don’t throw outrageous numbers. It is built well and will definitely last you a while, it has life time warranty.
Not made in the US, designed in the US and manufactured with foreign parts.
Peaking my curiosity only to find out that they don't exist as H7. Just as well as they're 200 USD per pair😂
Try headlight experts. It will be the next best option.
Just an FYI, I bought these and they do not come with a lifetime warranty.
Really? Thats one of the main selling features to me. What is the actual warranty then?
Huh never wouldve thought these were made around the corner from me
So close to perfect yet not made in America.
To expensive for a weaker light output! My favorite thing about them is the design.
They are not meant to be ultra bright. And that’s what they are trying to to measure more accurately
Lots of fake accounts are responding on this review!
It seems that most are subscribers...so not that fake! (I hope. 😬)
@@CarLightReviews They all start with " my favorite ting about the Diode Dynamic SL2 pro is". Real people don't all start with this.
@@WieDrDerJonge They do when it is the way to enter a contest hidden somewhere in this video to win free Diode Dynamics swag. 😁
A few years ago Diode Dynamics Sent me a letter to surrender my SL1 LED's and offered to send me a brand new HALOGEN bulb to replace it with. I had since sold the car so there was no need. They said the DOT came after them because their bulbs were too bright and went beyond the maximum number of lumens permitted.
No such thing as too bright lol
Pick me
4:50 The price is $199.95. The price should be in your title. I would have known immediately this is not for me, and I wouldn't be annoyed with you right now.
hes right though. Its $199, theres nothing like it😂
Diode Dynamics makes over priced bulbs that belong in a gumball machine. This has been my personal experience.
But now with a lifetime warranty, these are much better than before.
It seems many of their cheaper bulbs are just Chinese bulbs with tweaks. Like the 7443 switchback, which I was unimpressed with. The white was nice and bright but the amber was barely as bright as the halogen and the color was a bit off. Same thing with some of their other 7440 and similar series bulbs. But it looks like their more expensive stuff is more impressive, but personally, I find the LASFIT to be as good or better for much cheaper.
@@Josh.Davidson Lasfit, Auxito? Auxbeam, and even Morimoto 7440/7443 switchbacks with built in resistors and a cooling fan (except Lasfit without a cooling fan) have the brightest led bulbs in its production. I mean we’re talkin between 24W-30W per bulb.
Price is between $38-$60 a pair.
LASFIT 7443 switchback is what I used. It's the best one out there. I tried Auxito and they were not bright enough.
@@Josh.Davidson actually. Lasfit T3 wasn’t as bright as the old T2. Because people find them too bright. And it’s super soft bright amber.
And they product 24W 2000 lumens each.
With Auxito - 4KP8 series 7440, it makes 28.8W per bulb: and they are blinding on bright af. So bright it illuminates my whole house.
And it has a cooking fan.
It be nice if u try the comparing:
To me, for when it comes to built-in resistor led bulbs: it’s either Lasfit - T3 or Auxito - 4KP8:
We had them both for the front and rear of our previous 3rd gen Toyota Sienna.
Both are ultra bright, but the Auxito - 4KP8 was a lot brighter than T3.
