Welcome to the beautiful world (and rabbit hole 😁) of Geoff Castellucci. 🙂 Maybe, just maybe, you (as many others at their first watch of Geoff through this video) didn't realise that "them" are actually all "him". Yup, only ONE singer here, Geoff Castellucci, digitally "cloned" into 4 Dwarves (from the left, Thorin Oakenshield, Kili, Fili, and Bofur), each with his particular make up, costume, voice and personality. 🙂 As you may have noticed, they "interact" as if there WERE four of them This is a skill that Geoff possesses and that make his videos so incredibly pleasant. 🙂 At the end of the video, there was the "suggestion" for the sequel to this one: "I see fire", from the SECOND movie of the Hobbit trilogy (this was from the first one). If you thought this was good, wait until you watch that other one 😅. Can't wait. 😁 Enjoyed your reaction a lot. So, see you next time!
Geoff has this effect on many women, and a few men too. It's the Geoff magic. He knows exactly what he's doing. As they say, if you've got it, flaunt it.
Geoff Castellucci has fooled more than one reactor into thinking there was more than one person singing. You have to checkout : I See Fire next. Just keep in mind all the people you will seeing and all the voices you will be hearing are all Geoff
You’re not alone in having such a … physical… reaction to Geoff 😂 Subbed for more Geoff and VP. Plus there are some other great bass voices out there too hopefully you’ll get to hear sometime! My fave Geoff cover is Ain’t No Sunshine, for the vocal acrobatics, but all his are great to be honest. It’s also worth noting that he does nearly everything - arranging, performing (obv), filming, editing, etc. with some help from his wife Kathy (who makes a few cameo appearances) and he makeup by someone else, when necessary.
There nothing better than four Geoffs. He got these same four dwarfs together for a second Hobbit song. I See Fire. We do get five Geoffs' in his newest cover of You Don't Mess Around With Jim by Jim Croce.
I always enjoy the looks when someone hears Geoff for the first time! I know you like Johnny Cash so I think you would enjoy Geoff's version of Folsom Prison Blues. There are some earth-shaking notes in that one!
Great genuine reaction. I’m a big fan of Geoff! His voice is amazing across his entire (vast) range, and his music composition is phenomenal, from the chord structure to rhythms and all the other things that pull the listener in and keep them there for the entire performance. I think he may be the single most talented musician of our time, considering his array of skills.
Always happy to see a new fan of Geoff starting off on their journey down the rabbit hole! As others have said, I See Fire from the 2nd Hobbit movie is a sequel to this, with the same 4 characters, and IMO is the best video on Geoff's channel. Don't know how much into the technical music aspect you're into, but JIC: the three low tones that the main Geoff sang in the song were all the same note, G1. Geoff used three different techniques to sing them: the first was a subharmonic, which is a technique Geoff has been working on for several years now and he has pretty much perfected, where he's combining singing a note one octave higher (G2) with growl techniques so that it generates a note exactly one octave lower, the G1. The second version is "just" Geoff singing in his full chest voice, and reaching that G1 is not something most bass singers can do. The third/final version is another G1 chest, but Geoff let's a lot of breath come through that time, and you can really hear the vocal folds vibrating as he sustains the note.
G'day, Alison. Greetings from another denizen of Middle Earth, even if in reality it is only Florida, USA. It warms my heart when I see you excitedly incoherent with anticipation at the beginning of a video and smiling like you could eat a banana sideways. As always, your reactions are very dear to me and I treasure each one. Be well.
I’m a new listener to VoicePlay, having discovered their very good rendition of “Daddy Sang Bass” recently. I was aware of Geoff and based on that cover decided to check out some of his tunes. I have to say he seems to have claimed the title of king of low bass. And as someone who actually has a very low voice himself, I feel like he could inspire me to work on my own lower register. Since he’s been extremely successful at going deeper than deep.
Geoff has some videos on his channel where he talks about how to sing low bass that I found fascinating (I’m not a singer myself, but my youngest child is, as are my older brother and sister, and I’ve always been interested in how on earth some people can do that with their voices… I don’t have a “musical” brain, and it’s so cool to me to learn what their thought processes are & hear explanations of how the physiology of it works)
love your channel and being a major D&D player and have all the Tolkein books (including translating songs into dwarven runes) love your reactions-love to visit the land down under (especially with such beautiful women like you)-continued success...btw the small dagger that the third Geoff is toying with is a miniature of the sword Sting...
I really enjoyed your reaction, it's really cool to see people encountering Geoff, in all his Geoff-ness, for the first time. As many songs as Geoff has sung so far, and some come very close to it, but this one is still my favorite of his. It fits him so well. Other favorites of his, well ... I like some of the goofy ones, one of his Christmas songs 'Mele Kalikimaka feat. The American Sirens' is one of them. 'Monster Mash' is another.
I always love seeing Geoff render folks incapable of speaking coherently. Because we've all been there, slack-jawed and stammering in the face of his prodigious talents. And by golly, does the man deserve all the praise and attention! You are seriously depriving yourself if you haven't heard his covers of Wicked Game or The Sound of Silence.
As a Home Fry, I don't venture too far afield from them, but I do enjoy many of Geoff's solo works. Two of my favorites of his are Ghost Riders In The Sky and Sixteen Tons. Both old favorites of mine. That being said, as great as Geoff's version of this is, I also love the cover of this song that is done by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. I would love to see you react to that one as well. Can't get too much of a good thing. And Tim's bass really rumbles too!
Alison You probably realize other guys are also Geoff too. He with his Voiceplay mate, Layne created this video at Layne's studio, PattyCake Productions in Orlando, Florida. Geoff and his mates of Voiceplay worked at Disney World. Geoff portrayed Gaston of Beauty and the Beast.
Oh i do hope you go down the Rabbit Hole with Geoff! He is one of the most talented singers I've heard and he arranges all the music he sings on his solo channel. He's also a very good actor and very good looking.😊
Geoff is an amazing singer and so knowledgeable about his craft - his videos about how he hits those amazing notes, how he trains to maintain and extend his range are hugely interesting even if you're not a low singer yourself (I'm a baritone, so I AM a little biased in that regard.) The lower male voices used to be such a "niche" thing. As a boy I had a lovely pure treble (good enough to be principal soloist of two choirs), SO wanted to be a tenor when my voice shifted. DID NOT HAPPEN. An oft-voiced complaint after I ended up with a somewhat crusty baritone was "Well, f***. All the best songs are written for tenors. What do I do now?" Now, my disappointment with ending up in the lower ranges was somewhat compensated by the teenage discovery that the tenor only "always gets the girl" on stage, and backstage is a little different, but still.... Singers like Geoff, like Tim Foust or Peter Barber are showing folks, on youtube, what the low voice is truly capable of and putting smiles on baritones and basses faces all over the world :) However, it is probably a little disingenuous to pigeonhole Geoff as a "low voice" - the man has a 5-octave range! He's so good I really ought to hate him, but I can't so I'll just respect him instead. And enjoy reactors responding to the "multi-Geoff experience" :D
Of course, I also recommend "I see fire" to follow up the dwarfs. But I think, that Geoff's version of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" would also be a great fun for you to react to. Greetings around the globe from Germany! :)
I've heard (read in comments) the expression "Geoff-Quake," which adequately describes the earthy, primal "soul rumble" when he hits the lowest notes in his range. Is that an expression yet -- Soul Rumble? If not, it should be! 🤗
I do believe you were just a bit flabbergasted. Did you realized that they were all one man? I do believe you had a "moment" there. Welcome to the Castellunatics (Geoff's fans).
If you really want to melt you should check out his newest song. He just released Don't Mess Around With Jim. Also, Voiceplay's cover of Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame is incredible with Geoff taking the lead and somehow making one of Disney's worst villains sexy.
Totally understand letting Geoff and the clones get to you. You must check out I see Fire (sequel to this video), 16 Tons and his latest, Don’t Mess Around with Jim. And if you are a Game of Thrones fan, don’t miss the Reigns of Castimere.
I love the costumes. Even though they are all Geoff, he looks so different. I thought it was four different guys at first. When he does the harmonies it is just so cool
Anyone who is a Middle Earth fan should check out the dozen or so songs that Peter Hollens has covered, some with friends, some without, but all A Capella.
Young lady, at 66 years of age and a fellow man I can tell you without a doubt most sane heterosexual women will have this reaction to a man with a true base voice. While I can't sing to save my life both myself and my oldest son have deep base voices. But Geoff can put it to song. Do your self a favor and get your subwoofer and place it near you and replay this same song with the Base turned up. You can thank you later. My wife of 39 years has the same effect when I read stories to my grandson. I have been doing Audio Book Readings for a few years now, and her favorite one I did for her personally was Sandra Browns Ricochet. She has listened to that book almost weekly for the last few years to help her sleep haha
Piano players can be said to be tickling the ivories, referencing a time a century ago when the white piano keys were covered in slivers of elephant tusk. Geoff (Tim too) uses his LOW notes to tickle the ovaries as exhibited here.
Geoff has a four and a half active range, check out his earlier work, his cover of the Beatles "Blackbird" and " Ain't no Sunshine " also you really should review Voice Play's cover of Skyrim's The Dragon Born Comes. Phenomenal harmonies! Also his cover of Jack's Lament is not to be missed.
This was stunning when I first heard this. Another incredible version of this song is by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust (of Home Free), it will blow your mind. Also, check out 'I See Fire's' by Geoff. IMO, better than this one.
He is one of the vocalists I follow in training my voice. awesome.. By the way, I think I am in love with you, beautiful and animated. Do you have a cone?
Great reaction! This is one of Geoff's best. You're turned on because Geoff is, well, super hot. Wait'll you see his latest! Whooo, doggy! Hot stuff! (Sorry, Kathy!) If you are a LOTR fan, you need to go to the Hillywood Show channel and check out their LOTR musical parody. Sean Astin himself tweeted how much he liked it. It's a bit old, now, but still looks great, and you'd never guess it was fan-funded. They also have a funny parody of The Hobbit. As well as a ton of other movies and shows. 💖💜💙
What did you mean they? It’s ALL Geoff! Check out ‘Big BadJohn’ by Geoff! He plays all the characters in his videos. Also, check out Dan Vasc. Amazing also.
I feel like I should offer you a cigarette after seeing your reaction to Geoff, lol. As a fellow Basso Profundo, I always enjoy learning and listen to the masters of the craft.
If you like some more acapella Lord of the Rings and other movie music covers, I recommend you some older Peter Hollens videos. His "Into the West" and "Last Goodbye" are just beautifull
Dear o Geoff é sem dúvidas o maior Low Bass Singer of The world... é impossível não se emocionar com suas canções e com suas inúmeras vozes... fantástico e de outro mundo. Parabéns você é uma fofa e muito linda. Saudações aqui do Brasil. 🌹😘🌹😘🌹😘
Another reactor broken by Geoff. 🤣😂😆😅🤣 If you think his low notes are something then you'll also love his high notes. As many have suggested different check out I See Fire then you can check out Ghost Riders in the Sky, Unshaken and his latest release Don't Mess with Jim all are must sees
Hi Alison! bit of a LOTR geek myself. Love the series. This is an incredible version of the song and Geoff, Geoff, Geoff and Geoff (😂🙃😉) do an amazing job with it. There is another version of the song that hits just as hard and is worthy of your attention! It's sung by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. You definitely need to check it out on your own or as a reaction. th-cam.com/video/yb2HR47npEU/w-d-xo.html
Now you need to listen to Peter Hollens and Tim Foust do this song. Just titled Misty Mountains Cold. Tim is the bass singer for Homefree 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 What's better than 4 Geoffs? 5 Geoffs in Ghost Riders In The Sky 🤠🤠👻👻👻
Serious question, do women really think it’s sexy and a turn on hearing a note like the last note? This is one of the songs I used starting to learn to sing then hoist the colors. I can match Jeff note for note and the last note is actually easy to do I have only been singing in private for a year. And even though it sounds and feels cool hearing it, it feels very awkward singing it. So I’ve been hesitant to sing in front of someone

Welcome to the world of Geoff and Voiceplay. Enjoy from Texas
Oh dear, you lost it just a few measures in the song. Not sure you'll be able to handle his latest release. One more Geoff and a lot fewer sleeves.😂
Def "armed" and dangerous 😉
@@Denalicat More like Armed and Delicious!
@@Mark_Agamotto1313_Smith 😂🤣
LOL, woman couldn't even TALK STRAIGHT. Right out the gate she was STAMMERING from the sheer STUN FACTOR of that opening note.

Hailing from Indiana, Unites States. His voice is crazy good. So much talent! Also, love your smile, Alison :)
Laughing my head of here... 😂😂😂😂
I think this is the most erotic reactor/reaction I've seen..
Brilliant!!!

Love it... 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌷

I agree with the many others: react to "I see fire"!
I do believe you were just a bit flabbergasted.
Did you realized that they were all one man?
I do believe you had a "moment" there.
Welcome to the Castellunatics (Geoff's fans).
You loved this then the second dwarf instalment will leave you totally done. Find Geoff’s version of I see fire. That would disturb even Smaug.
If you really want to melt you should check out his newest song. He just released Don't Mess Around With Jim. Also, Voiceplay's cover of Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame is incredible with Geoff taking the lead and somehow making one of Disney's worst villains sexy.
When witnessing this kind of performance, language skills begin to fail...😁
You'll have to watch another of Geoff's Hobbit covers; "I See Fire". Watching from northern Utah.
Totally understand letting Geoff and the clones get to you. You must check out I see Fire (sequel to this video), 16 Tons and his latest, Don’t Mess Around with Jim. And if you are a Game of Thrones fan, don’t miss the Reigns of Castimere.

You should listen to his performance as Ursula in voice plays little mermaid melody.
I love the costumes. Even though they are all Geoff, he looks so different. I thought it was four different guys at first. When he does the harmonies it is just so cool
You need headphones to fully get the Geoff Effect and Hobbiton is great and going to WETA Works was great to it was good growing up in Wellington
I didn’t get to go to WETA! But I’d love to my goodness - you’re right, it’s definitely the sound cancelling headphones for the rest!
Tickled her fancy? I see her making a mix tape of Geoff's lowest notes.😊
when Geoff goes subwoofer.....just sit back and enjoy the show

Geoff Castellucci: "16 Tons", "You Don't Mess Around With Jim", "Ghost Riders in the Sky"
You might want to react to I See Fire next 😅
You might like the cover he did of Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers (Bass Singer Cover by Geoff Castellucci)
Most singers have the same reaction when first hearing this performance.
She went Megan Trainer on this one, She all about that bass! 😂
Can you imagine this on an old rack stereo system with 6 surround sound speakers?
I'm an ace introvert and he affects me, you are definitely not alone
Hoist the Colours, another great one. Also, anything by Payton Parrish
If you want to stay calm you should probably steer clear of his cover of Sixteen tons!!!
Great reaction. I see "sixteen tons" next.
I really hope you do his cover of i see fire soon
