why do the soldiers bullets seem to not damage them at all? while a baseball bat 9mm and boomerangs are instant kills
It because only main characters gets to be useful. Also, the soldiers were probably wearing red shirts underneath their uniform.

The SS weapons are made from extra-thick plot material. VERY effective against zombies. :)
The way I see it, those Corrupted are kind of like people made of gelatin. If you shoot gelatin with a high-powered assault rifle, you're not going to do much damage; the bullet's just going to icepick right through it and leave a neat little hole. If you hit the gelatin with a _baseball bat,_ however, it's going to splatter the gelatin all over the place. Katanas and bladed boomerangs will slash through the gelatin and slice off pieces of it until you have a less-than-functional fraction of a gelatin man.
It doesn't explain Deadshot's guns mowing them down in droves, but maybe Deadshot has some large-caliber hollow points in those wrist guns that he never has to reload for some reason. Deadshot's a sorcerer like that. :-/

Nah, the boss' in this are the tier 1 unit guys from unit/delta/seals/marsoc or whatever who are with Rick Flag and know him, are looking down their weapons at fuckknowswhat, and go, "Rick, why do they look like that?," then engage that otherworldly magic shit without question and to the death covering each other. They're not superheroes or antiheroes or villains with powers, they're special operations guys thrown in against shit they shouldn't be and do their job.

At which point Umbrella Corp would have tried to turn him into their own version of those Flood Marines from Halo.
I will emphasize "Tried" however because I don't think it'd work too well for them.

One thing I’ve always loved about this scene is deadshots complete faith in Harley to take on like 6 of those things at once to save Flag, he’s just like yeh the psycho with the bat can sort it lightwork. I feel like his understanding of her character is an underrated part of the movie- he really got her

Often times movies have these scenes that put us in a trance of awe and all we can do is just admire what said scenes mean and the importance of them.

Saral Thakur except Harley kills them with simple shots from her pistol, knife dude just slashed them to death, and deadshot kills them with his M16 and pistols just fine. bullets don’t make neat little holes in things, they fragments and expand not too mention the energy is distributed. If it works for the main characters it shouldn’t stop working for side characters.

SHIELD It is just the expectation were really high for the plot, it was like a parody of the ss, lack of coherence and weird dialogue limes by the final act.
The pre screening version was different from the theather version specially in the final act, the director planned to make the joker one of the final villains for example but apparently warner executives wanted a less crude story and made him change some things. (see the extra scenes of the joker in the first trailers)
I think The concept was acceptable for what they were aiming, if only they had held it like that until the end, it would have been a fun movie.
In cause ya'll forget, if you ever bring Boomerang to an alleyway fight, his first movie is to open a beer

I remember CinemaSins once criticize Deadshot's move in this scene for being unnecessary, since the soldier boys could do exactly the same thing.
I'd like to rebutt that argument by saying that what Deadshot did here is faster and more efficient than even if the whole platoon went ahead. Because in-lore, what he did here wasn't just firing away at the crowd. He _aims_ each and every single one of those shots, precisely at the target's vitals, at that speed, and supposedly _none_ missed.
Now go ahead and tell the regular grunts to try doing that.
