1:40 is a good example of that haha. I suspend reality when watching superhero movies but this guy soared 30 feet in the air and like 10 feet away and they realized she would’ve ran there too fast so they had to cut away to make it seem longer for her to run there. Come on lol

As a kid, I hated it because I was six years old and I didn’t like that the pretty lady was being killed, surprisingly as a kid, I understood that much. I remember “Thinking maybe she’s just confused and doesn’t mean it”. Rewatching it later as a teenager, it occurred to me that she was being mind controlled the whole time and she didn’t deserve to die like that. Now these days I see it as a cruel testament to what happens when people like Stryker abuse their power; it’s the innocent who will suffer, always.
it's also a praise to how much of a threat she was to Wolverine, he couldn't beat her, she's just too vicious. So Wolvie had to fight dirty and in the end could not help killing her, it's just the only way Wolvie could stop her. Despite being the defeated, i'm sure she earned Wolvie's utmost respect.

As an adult for me, I wonder if she's not actually dead. If she's still alive in there continually attempting to heal but locked in place by indestructible metal, compounded with the inability to breathe sinking beneath the water, trapped in a place nigh unreachable beneath a body of water. Locked in, dying but never truly dead, in darkness, in pain, trapped in a forever loop of drowning and begging.

Agree one of who is very talented as voice actress in my favorite games too, but she acted as die in this movie of the character was very sad ending to watch.
I feel so sad for this version of Lady Deathstrike. On one hand, I always disliked how this adaptation almost completely changed her character, reducing her to one of Stryker's mind-controlled pawns with virtually no backstory or personality of her own. She has no history with Logan, which drastically cheapens the emotional stakes of their climactic face-off. Literally the only things carried over from her comic counterpart in this movie are the claws, martial arts skills, and healing factor. On the other hand, there is a unique tragedy to this version being forced by Stryker to fight against her will. You can see as her eyes change that, for a brief moment, she regained her sense of self but it's too late. It's such a brutal, melancholic end. Logan, a man who didn't even know her in this universe, had to defeat her because she would have killed him otherwise. But he sees in her last expression that she was scared. She was used by Stryker like he was. She was aware of what she was doing. But, like Cyclops, she couldn't stop herself. And unlike Logan, she presumably never escaped Stryker or got to have a life of her own. Now, after finally regaining consciousness, she stays buried in this lab run by the very man who made her his servant. It's all so cruel. I suppose one could interpret that, when Logan captured Stryker and left him to die, in a sense, he wasn't just getting justice for himself. He was getting justice for every mutant Stryker ever harmed & abused, including Lady Deathstrike.

@@pranavupadhyay8939 Earlier in the movie, the colour in her eyes dissapears, and she starts to look confused, as if she's just woken up standing there. Stryker noticed this, and applied more of the fluid he uses to control people (His son's cerebral fluid iirc)

0:46 has to be one of the best shots from any X-men film the zoom in and out to amplify the force Logan put into that punch was so damn dope and still hold up all these years later
I feel like comparing this to D&W fights REALLY shows the the difference between amnesiac-Wolverine and Wolverine once he recovered his memories. With only 20ish years worth of memories, he's a WAY clumsier fighter and his pain tolerance is DRASTICALLY lower. And sure he's healing just as fast, but with a lower pain tolerance he's so much easier to stun and/or immobilise. Then you see the punishment he shrugs off in The Wolverine, Logan (healed slow but still far less incapacitated by pain than early 2000s Wolverine) and D&W and realise that his healing factor is a pathway to an even greater superpower. I'm paraphrasing, but even Charles said that his own greatest gift wasn't telepathy. It was to bear such pain without breaking. Deadpool 3's Wolverine would have crushed Deathstrike and hardly broke a sweat. Origins' Sabertooth could've too.

@@isplat927 True, but I still feel like it is a stretch. With Batman I get it, it is the entire atmosphere and ensemble and what not, but Catwoman? She is a hottie in a suit that loves gymnastics, I wouldn't exactly associate that with Cats...
I think what I like about this scene is, based on what we see here, Yuriko is unquestionably the better fighter and would probably win a prolonged engagement. So Logan has to rely on a better understanding of the environment to win unconventionally. Despite that, it's pretty obvious he's not proud of this, not just in the WAY he wins but also in his understanding of the situation. Yuriko, like Logan, is a victim of Stryker's cruelty, and he gets that these roles could have very easily been reversed.

2:32-2:41 Is probably the saddest part about this entire thing. She finally snapped out of control, looking pretty scared. She seemed to have recognized James as well. James then proceeded to look at her closely, confused. He then realized that she was under control and then closed his eyes and turned away at 2:39-2:40 Probably horrified/disgusted at the adamantium coming out, realizing that she was mind controlled, and what he did.

Her death is actually horrific, adamantium must be kept at over 1500°F/815°C, now imagine being stabbed in the stomach to then your entire body to be pumped with a liquid over 8 times hotter than boiling water until it comes out of every hole The amount of things PG-13 movies can sometimes get away with are terrifying Same with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and the face removal scene
Best thing is. She's not dead. Trapped forever in an endless cycle of regeneration that can't complete. A conscious and living hell that can never end.
It was so cool to see her in Deadpool again but under much more unfortunate circumstances. She didn’t deserve to die the way she did in X men because she was being mind controlled and during the campsite where she was serving someone way more powerful than her.

As an adult for me, I wonder if she's not actually dead. If she's still alive in there continually attempting to heal but locked in place by indestructible metal, compounded with the inability to breathe sinking beneath the water, trapped in a place nigh unreachable beneath a body of water. Locked in, dying but never truly dead, in darkness, in pain, trapped in a forever loop of drowning and begging.

I feel so sad for this version of Lady Deathstrike. On one hand, I always disliked how this adaptation almost completely changed her character, reducing her to one of Stryker's mind-controlled pawns with virtually no backstory or personality of her own.
She has no history with Logan, which drastically cheapens the emotional stakes of their climactic face-off. Literally the only things carried over from her comic counterpart in this movie are the claws, martial arts skills, and healing factor.
On the other hand, there is a unique tragedy to this version being forced by Stryker to fight against her will. You can see as her eyes change that, for a brief moment, she regained her sense of self but it's too late. It's such a brutal, melancholic end.
Logan, a man who didn't even know her in this universe, had to defeat her because she would have killed him otherwise. But he sees in her last expression that she was scared. She was used by Stryker like he was. She was aware of what she was doing.
But, like Cyclops, she couldn't stop herself. And unlike Logan, she presumably never escaped Stryker or got to have a life of her own. Now, after finally regaining consciousness, she stays buried in this lab run by the very man who made her his servant.
It's all so cruel. I suppose one could interpret that, when Logan captured Stryker and left him to die, in a sense, he wasn't just getting justice for himself. He was getting justice for every mutant Stryker ever harmed & abused, including Lady Deathstrike.
Never noticed it until recently @ 2:32 you see her eyes change back to normal. She finally was able to regain control of herself as she was dying
I'm gonna bet that Deadpool and Wolverine will have the same reaction as 0:19 in Deadpool & Wolverine.

One of the two good flights in the entire movie
I feel like comparing this to D&W fights REALLY shows the the difference between amnesiac-Wolverine and Wolverine once he recovered his memories. With only 20ish years worth of memories, he's a WAY clumsier fighter and his pain tolerance is DRASTICALLY lower. And sure he's healing just as fast, but with a lower pain tolerance he's so much easier to stun and/or immobilise.
Then you see the punishment he shrugs off in The Wolverine, Logan (healed slow but still far less incapacitated by pain than early 2000s Wolverine) and D&W and realise that his healing factor is a pathway to an even greater superpower.
I'm paraphrasing, but even Charles said that his own greatest gift wasn't telepathy. It was to bear such pain without breaking. Deadpool 3's Wolverine would have crushed Deathstrike and hardly broke a sweat. Origins' Sabertooth could've too.

I think what I like about this scene is, based on what we see here, Yuriko is unquestionably the better fighter and would probably win a prolonged engagement. So Logan has to rely on a better understanding of the environment to win unconventionally. Despite that, it's pretty obvious he's not proud of this, not just in the WAY he wins but also in his understanding of the situation. Yuriko, like Logan, is a victim of Stryker's cruelty, and he gets that these roles could have very easily been reversed.
One of the many reasons X- was the best of the series

2:32-2:41 Is probably the saddest part about this entire thing. She finally snapped out of control, looking pretty scared. She seemed to have recognized James as well. James then proceeded to look at her closely, confused. He then realized that she was under control and then closed his eyes and turned away at 2:39-2:40 Probably horrified/disgusted at the adamantium coming out, realizing that she was mind controlled, and what he did.

Her death is actually horrific, adamantium must be kept at over 1500°F/815°C, now imagine being stabbed in the stomach to then your entire body to be pumped with a liquid over 8 times hotter than boiling water until it comes out of every hole
