In Japan it was the GTO TwinTurbo. Let me assure you it is a monster. In my late 20s late one night I walked home and passed a garage (gas/petrol station) in Welkom, South Africa. Just then the owner was closing up and walked out to his deep purple GTO TwinTurbo... I walked by just as he started it up. My knees gave in under me as it came to life, I literally cried tears! It was the most beautiful thing with an engine I've ever heard. Close second would be a Maserati Quattroporte GTS. Man, cars are beautiful creatures, and these are the best of them. From idle to limiter they thrill and excite.
I'm a huge Mitsubishi fan had a couple of Monteros and a Miage and they are as reliable as Toyota and Honda and Mitsubishi 4000 GTVR4 was so much better than any domestic junk at that time or today.
Underrated. I remember seeing the Stealth when I was in the military back in 96. I loved the styling and the sound of it. I just bought a 99 here in Germany and other than a few minor things, it all works (in Europe they kept rhe Acrive Aero and electronic shocks until the end). I love that it is a rarity.
What i find interesting is that car was a joint venture with dodge, and dodge made its version of the same car called the stealth r/t... which no one seems to remember.. sorry this is not a true jdm, just like the bmw mark v supra
@jeanbarbera8875 incorrect!!!! 3000gt/dodge stealth was a joint venture between dodge and Mitsubishi... just like the Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ.... calling the 3000gt jdm is just like calling the supra mk v or the last Acura NSX, which was manufactured in the state of Ohio in the United States JDM
@TheQuantum36 dodge only put their badge on it. It was built in Japan. Do your research before giving your incorrect facts about things you don't know anything about
@jeanbarbera8875 you should do your research, dodge was responsible for the body design of those cars it was a joint effort during a time when Chrysler owned a significant amount of shares of Mitsubishi stock... there collars were pretty common during the 90's with a list of vehicles they co developed
@TheQuantum36 no you need to do your research. Dodge was only responsible for the exterior of the stealth. This is called a rebadge or a captive import. A captive import is when a car is rebadged and imported to another country. They had no input on anything else. Mitsubishi and chrysler partnership was one convenience it how lots of jdm cars where allowed to be sold in the U.S. the mitsubishi 3000gt was designed and engineered by Mitsubishi in Japan. You have it backwards the dodge stealth is not American it's Japanese.
From what I remember back in the day was it was relatively expensive and nowhere near as reliable as the Supra or even the Corvette which was its main competitor.

Being overly complex caused reliability issues is what I remember hearing back in the day.

What a car, my favourite jdm car of the 90’s
It does!!!! Sick
I love the looks of these, that wide stance and rear end is sexy

The stealth is a rebadge. The 3000gt is JDM 100% made in Japan

Yeah while everyone praising the tuning of 2jz or rb26 thi ls 6g72 is also tuner friendly and could achieve similar horsepower figures
honestly its the best car of all time!
It might be!

Yes it is 😁
4G63 engine swap will make this car more of a track beast
한국에 있는 1세대 3000gt 트윈터보 오너입니다 디자인이 너무 맘에 들고 출력도 나쁘지 않은데 유독 인기가 없는게 아쉽습니다 영상 잘 봤어요
Glad you enjoyed the video!
