Just as I started driving down to the SMMT Test Day at Millbrook - fantastic day by the way, please do check out the first drive videos from there if you haven’t already - right as I joined the motorway to do the 2 hours of monotony down the road I noticed my passenger side wing mirror glass… well... flapping. The bottom edge was lifting about a centimetre outwards, hinging from the top. The problem was a bit sporadic, sometimes it was shaking like crazy, other times it looked perfectly normal. I managed to get to the hotel I was staying at overnight, and even got to Millbrook without issue, but after the day of driving fun cars I knew I had to do something to make sure the glass didn’t just fall out on the way home.

Its 8K0 857 535 E for the passenger side (left) and I believe 8K0 857 536 F for drivers (right).

This EXACT thing just happened to me today - scenario and the cause. Thank you so much for making this video, you surely saved me some £££ on going to a garage! I decided to glue it with E6000 plus and let it cure for 72 hours. Let’s see what happens. Thanks again! 🙏

I had the same issue- glued it back with gorilla glue- cured under pressure overnight. Lasted lifetime of car about 6 years. Heating still worked.

Nice vid mate - this happened to my S4 on passenger but I stuck back on with Araldite - keep my heated position for mirrors off as think I left it on ,I thought those mirrors where supposed be very expensive so that’s good for £56
