Need more of this content!!! Extremely relatable to me and I think this would resonate with a lot of other folks as well. Not sure if you’re still active on this channel but if you see this, great work. You are indeed a filmmaker, a fantastic one as well as a great story teller.
“Do I even still like making movies?” hits home for me. I feel that way often. Still trying to make something for myself. I like the idea of making something that’s not super stressful and will probably steal that idea. Looking forward to the making of stuff for the film!
It's def good to know I'm not alone there, I feel like it's probably a pretty common feeling among filmmakers, we just never talk about it. I hope you get a chance to go do something fun soon! Thanks!
@@AmIAFilmmaker Yeah I think that’s it. I think the actual paid work can also dampen the excitement for our own stuff. Yeah man. I’ve got 2 shorts and a feature written. Just stressing about how to make it perfect…which is impossible.
Can't wait to see what shenannigans you and Kenny get into. I'm glad you're taking time to find your creative spark and let things organically unfold. So exciting
Sounds great. I like the look of your desert shots in film way more than when shot in digital. I did something very much like what you did a while back. I shot parts of a short film in 16mm out in the desert and back at home and put it all together. However, I spent a lot of time planning, testing, and set building. I love the look of film and prefer it to digital. Making CG stuff though is very time consuming and sometimes I wish it was avoidable for most SFX. BTW, my 2K scans of film where every bit as good as any HD camera, but for some reason, uploading to TH-cam significantly degrades the quality.
Really great video! I was going to do something similar for a feature, but decided it needed to be live action. Also, welcome to the Ultra 16 family! I have a K3 modified to Ultra 16.
So awesome, Todd! I sure hope you still like making movies because you’re amazing at it. 😉 Thank you for inspiring us and sharing your talent with us! Looking forward to what follows!
which lens is that! I also have able 16m and have been looking for a lens like that so I can actually see what I am doing. Your footage looks great nice work!
Yes you are a filmmaker film is an art form you fall for n and out love with but if your a real filmmaker it’s in your blood. It always pulls you back to it it’s a dream that never stops for the filmmaker it possess til the day you die if you really love it. Robert Lee Moore
So far it’s going pretty well, the biggest thing is you have to stabilize the footage because film shakes around subtly, and then I’m having to add some film emulation onto my composited elements

Let's go! Always fun to find a fellow 16mm filmmaker. Excited to see VFX blended with the organic film.
Jesus, Todd. You're hitting me right in the nostalgia with this. Beautiful and inspirational, as always.
Thanks so much Darin!

haha you got it!
I'm interested in the process of adding VFX to 16mm film. How has that been? Can you comment on that?

Number of reasons,😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
I hope the robot falls in love with a talking animal
