Comment I left to someone asking for a good 2024 tutorial on steamcommunity: I’m glad I’ve founded this guy, he takes your hand in a pleasant, practical and smart way, An over 10 hours introducing tutorial might sounds long at first glance, but II’d say it’s rather like an optical illusion: -First, time flies in good company. Self-explanatory -Second, time well invested, 8 hours in the tutorial gave me more confidence than my previous 100 hours in in the game, mainly trying to follow other yt tutorials… It’s an all fresh ongoing project that should drive more attraction pretty soon me guess. Games with Brains, please by all means continue to deliver, but even if you stop now, I’m already a foot in and enjoying :), thanks for that.
Thanks for your continued support. I'm about to get the next 2-3 episodes done. Please ask any questions you're not entirely sure on, I've already got a few, I'm looking to work those into upcoming videos. This goes to everyone - if you have a question, then there's definitely others who do too.
I just completed this episode, learnt tons, cheers. The missing portrait bug is still there 7 months after your recording this. Paradox are not the fastest to fix things.
It's been a little while that I have been watching your tutorial on hoi 4 and all I can say is that it is the most helpful thing I have ever seen about this game. Thank you very much! It has been very VERY helpful so far!
lol, it's the 10th October my game and spain still hasn't fallen out with itself lol. I am sticking with it all though because your videos are so educational and I enjoy having a wee laugh along with you as you play your game. Thanks again!
After several re-runs I managed to get the Spanish Civil War to kick off about 2 weeks after Mr GwB, that's the closest I could get. So I got to the end of Pt 7 albeit a little late. I'm hoping I can still mirror a run through following the tutorials. We'll see, but if not I'm still incredibly grateful to find such a well-paced, informative and newbie friendly series of tutorials. Good luck to all, and thanks again to our HoI4 meister for the help
I think one way to resolve the 50%, 100%, is that it's not a reduction in production time, it's an increase in production efficiency. If I am able to make, say, an arbitrary 20 units of progress each day on a research. If that increases by 100%, it halves the production time.
Checking in after 7 eps. Playing along but on recruit lvl. Im slightly behind you but easy to catch up on tech and such. +1 on video and thank you for your time
Hi. Thanks a lot for a great tutorial. I have been following it all until this episode, but suddenly there is a smaller issue or problem showing up. The spanich civil war doesn't start... Why?
Grrrr! I think this could be some sort of bug (I'm gonna reach out to paradox) because if you have the DLC enabled they behave "normally" Vs "not at all". I'm gonna touch on this briefly in my next recorded ep (no.13 - unlucky!)
I know it's quite late now, but wouldn't it have been better if you have cranked out a lot of 1 battalion cavalry division for increasing the number of divisions on paper. It would've increased the number of divisions quickly by consuming less resources and since 1 battalion cavalry make for a decent occupation force anyways, your Army XP wouldn't have been wasted either.
You're in the wrong country for sun 😆. Thanks for asking, but it's been good here in the states. I love winter and not looking forward to summer. Why are all the units im doing exercises with having skulls on them? Take attrition i mean..
they only have the skulls during the training because doing the exercise uses supplies and materials. After you finish the training, wait a bit and it should go back to normal. Also, another tip is that training can only go up to level 3. Once you see a banner with a star next to your division instead of the clover, it can’t train any higher
I definitely am in the wrong country for the sun. As I kid I used to hear German & French people saying this a lot, and I thought it was just idle banter - things only got more serious when discussing good cheeses, wines or good cars with trains that run on time, but now I finally realise - Nope, they were serious about the sun too!
For someone who has watched many many tutorials for Hoi4, this has by far taught me the most. Thank you so much!

Facts, I love this series. I'm brand new, and my first game is this tutorial 👍
These tutorials are gold. Lots to learn and definitely worth watching! Comprehensive and thorough, thank you so much!

Hopefully you'll know what to do when things kick off. This randomness of the Spanish civil war was quite something!

I am about 500 hours in, and these beginners tutorials of your have taught me so much!
My civil war still hasn't begun, and I'm at the point in the end of this video. Going back and forth is going to be a pain
lol i had the complete opposite it started on th 1st of may

MY SPANISH CIVIL WAR DIDN'T START STILL FEBRUARY OF 1937
HOI4 should just link this series in the game for a new player tutorial. I feel like a lot less people would quit the game before understanding it.

+1 on video and thank you for your time
Great series. I did notice that when changing supply from horse drawn to motorized, fuel did take a hit. Something to keep in mind.
Great tip!
Really helpfull tutorial thus far, thank you so much for making this.
Thanks for your generous support & encouraging words.

All those grey days make for perfect HOI time though doesn't it!? 😆
That is true, I definitely spend more time Infront of the computer in our typical grey British winters.
The civil war made me a month behind yet a month ahead.
Finally in October spain started their war
What happened to the assigned airforce to Rommel in Spain?

When the radio research is completed it’s instantly available to tanks in the field?

Sounded like you said a four letter word about/to complete beginners :D :D 0:04
Thanks!
Thank you very much for the kind tip 🙂
nice!
Would it be worth it to wait one month - 1 day to select the next tech, so you get less of a penalty if you research something that 1937 +?

@gameswithbrains 😆 🤣. I actually would love England's weather as I love dark rainy days. I hate heat and the sun lol.
