What an amazing journey! I can’t believe you can just anchor in the river and there you are in New York. And Dad paddling out like that wow! I was also surprised there weren’t more boats around. Thanks for sharing!
Beautifull video.Your skills and storytelling are getting great.I just love your family and specifically your interactions.Just know that you are bringing joy to a lonely old man.Thank you.
3:06 Radio City Music Hall. Its a legendary place and you just walked by! As everything in New York it was (for a while) the largest venue IN THE WORLD.
seems as if you had fun in my city...I wish I had known waaaay back in May that you were gonna be in NYC. I would have taken care of you and shown you the really cool places that the kids would have loved......
19:12 Oh that's a lovely example of how much New York loves the environment. That thing is called "Water Soul". It's made of some horrendously horrible plastic and epoxy and it was made in Spain and then shipped to New York in like 50 shipping containers. WELCOME TO GREENPEACE!
Wow... the things we learn from your comments are astounding. You are truly a wealth of knowledge on many things. How crazy that it had to come from Spain, I thought NYC would have had many creatives ready to make a sculpture locally?!
@@sailingwithsix Oh sure, NYC has tons of good (and bad) sculptors. But New York is basically Lagos with bad coffee and worse sewage. Corruption is unbelievable. I'm sure a lot of pockets got lined in the creation of this "international masterpiece".
A great ad for NY. Brilliantly put together. At 10:12, cyclists reckon if we had no cars, there'd be no need for traffic lights, so they cycle through them - even when a pedestrain is on the crossing! At 20:53, you motored under Bridge #6 without even commenting on what it looks like!!! It was the inspiration for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Bradfield (the engineer) travelled to NY just to see it.
Hells gate bridge it doesn’t beat ours sydney harbour bridge thanks for the tour around New York stay safe and happy travels cheers Barry from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
Oh man, I loved that I could feel your collective anxiety and discomfort with the city -- I personally love NYC, but it was honestly great to see the completely understandable collective shock you all seemed to experience trying to navigate such a wildly overstimulating (and often filthy) place!! I'd be just as shellshocked dropped onto a catamaran in the middle of the ocean!
I would recommend Annapolis, MD as your next stop when you return to North America! Much more boat friendly, and beautiful area to walk around! Always fun to check out Chesapeake Bay Bridge too when in the area!
@@sailingwithsix your very welcome!!your inspiring all of you, but also what an amazing dad you are teaching them all you know ❤ 💙 abt the yacht and the engines!bloody amazing 👏 ❤ 👌
2:22 No, it's not a bad dad who brought an uninflated ball. It's a special public recreation ball for New York. If it bounces and hits someone you will be sued for emotional suffering and sent a huge medical bill.
awesome vid guys.. if eva you decide to brave BASS STRAIT and come to AUS... im at the bottom end in Lakes Entrance... happy to Sheppard you through the BAR!!! just saying
A good taste of one of the world's great cities. New York has venerable places to visit, tho its present establishment may not be as welcoming. Nice creative work, of necessity, getting the family ashore! Some of the local denizens also employ "creative" means of getting past those subway booths. Glad you found some of New York's famous parks. You obviously had fun, despite the hassles. Hope the next leg will be better!
Sorry that New York doesn't provide any docking spaces for visitors. I'm glad You beat the system to be able to explore and some sites! Make sure you visit the Memorial fountain that was once our "Twin Towers, it is a magnificent site. Honoring those that perished in the attack on 911, 2001
It was definitely nice seeing you guys making yourself feel at home. Question were did you get the skateboard 🛹 did somebody let you borrow it or did you rent it?
There's a video somewhere describing everything they have onboard that would make Disneyland blush. I'm sure The Mom would find a link that I was too lazy to find. 😀
Seeing the kids in real shoes and socks makes me think of that scene with Hank Azaria in The Birdcage. I keep expecting them to stumble from the odd feeling of having something wrapped around their feet! 🤔🤣
How many sicknesses did Dad get from jumping in the Hudson and paddlling the Paddle Board in???? LOL!!!! 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER SWIMMING IN THE HUDSON ever again! LOL!
You anchored in my neighborhood on the Hudson! wish I had known I would have happily been your tour guide and/or personal photographer (I'm a professional). Please, next time, reach out! :)
When she said “it’s a quarter past 7” that reminded me of when I have said “quarter past” to high school students here in California. They don’t know what time I mean. They all think I mean 25 minutes past because a quarter is 25 cents.
I was hoping you guys would stop in to KATZ Deli! And for those pretzels, you need to get the melted cheese to dip them in! :) (Sorry for the multiple comments... just commenting as I see/think of things!)
Fun Fact (And last comment I leave, I promise! LOL). The Brooklyn Bridge's Architect/Builder was Jos A Roebling. Before the Brooklyn Bridge, he built the Jos A Roebling Suspension Bridge that goes over the Ohio River, connecting Cincinnati Ohio, to Newport Ky. He built the Cincinnati Bridge first and then years later, he used that plan to then build the Brooklyn Bridge in New York (They look almost Identical). Maybe it's in the next episode, but... did you guys go up in to the Statue of Liberty and go up in to the Crown?
7:25 That's New York. You're allowed to buy a car but parking it... that's a different story. You're allowed to buy real estate but taxes... are a different story. You're allowed to have a dog but you should also buy a "poop scoop"... I kid you not. You HAVE to go after your dog and collect its poop into a paper bag. FUN!
Hi Family, great content😁but how filthy is that river yuk. Nothing like Aussie or NZ hey. Thanks for sharing, gee the kids are growing up so fast. Please take care, not everyone's nice. 🇳🇿🇦🇺😲👍how bloody stupid, there's no place unless u pay for the dingy, that's just ridiculous, nice way to welcome visitors. Haha yep we committed to the swim every day until we were ready to leave. All other options to get to the city like buses, trains, ferries or taxi were too expensive for six of us (in our opinion) so we saved the pennies to spend on the fun stuff in the city 😀
My guess is... you guys are the only crazy, have the ingenuity to get off your Cat and on to land in NYC the way you did with the Tinder in and back and then the paddle board! You probably OWN that title Mates!!! :) I wonder how many THOUSANDS of Photos people in the buildings on land probably took of you doing that! LOL

What a great visit, and I must say, that's one of the BEST vlogs of New York I've seen.
Hope you continue to have SAFE journeys ❤❤
I thought the same thing.
Thank you, that's very kind. Maybe because there's never been a vlog done from this angle before so it's more unique to other peoples experiences.
We rented an apartment on Manhattan Island for a month and never ran out of new things to do every day. NYC is amazing.
What a great idea. There's certainly plenty to do even for a month. I'm glad you enjoyed your time there too 😀
9:15 That's actually a big enough bush to hide the dinghy!
Hmmm... next time.

Yet another great one, and of course you are da maaaann. That was some sandwich too.
Cheers mate!
Wondering how cold the water was there, when he had to paddle back? So great that he did that! Always wondered how taking a dinghy in there would be.
The water was not to cold in summer thankfully, would not want to do this in winter though.
Thanks for the vidio.Hope you enjoyed a little bit of America. But there is so much more!!
There is A LOT of America!

We did stop there momentarily and explained what happened as the kids didn't know. So many learning opportunities.
