Hey thanks for the great vid. I'm sure this question gets thrown around a lot because of the edition differences and confusion regarding the kickstarter, but I'm new so please excuse me if its annoying. I notice this character sheet in the vid is different to the form fillable one I have. Namely what I'm noticing is that mine doesn't have that section on wounds and health seems to be at the top left near stress and resolve. Can you please advise which is newer? And if 1E is the ruleset available on drivethrurpg? I'm not seeing any other version up there than the one I bought, but my copy doesn't contain that illustration of all the armour types at 12:05 in your vid for example. Thanks for the great tutorial though!
Thanks for this. I was surprised to see that more than one 'Trained' level skills can apply to the same stat roll. Does that mean that if Zoology (+10) AND Pathology (+15) both applied to a stat roll, that I would get +25?
This is a game in which character death is expected. In my mind, that's different than in a lot of RPGs where character death is merely a possibility. Even more, this is a game that encourages combat. Some games are deadly, but push you away from combat (like Vampire), some games push you toward combat but aren't that deadly (like 5e). This does both.
How could there be no distinction between small damaging but hard to hit monsters and large damaging but easy to hit? Nothing in your attack roll accounts for the size or evasiveness of your target.
Hello, how are you? This video was a great help! Thank you 😊 I also have a channel. I mostly review movies but I also have a podcast where I and a guest talk about all things nerdy, geeky and dorky. If you're interested, it would be awesome to have you as a guest 😊
It's definitely a game where doom is always on the horizon. I kinda dig that, but it definitely makes it hard for a longer campaign to work without tweaks.
I guess my GM mindset will have to be: say yes, or roll the dice. That is, only ask for a roll when you feel like something would/should probably fail. And only ask for a roll when failing that roll could realistically cause full-on panic - cause that is going to happen nearly 10% of the time!
I'm running a long form campaign with the Mothership rules and I have found a few work around so far. 1. Give out experience often and have them level up. 2. My players are playing a crew as in 30 people so in the campaign they have 30 lives as a resource. Death will happen but it's about how they go out and make it count. They can't just wake everyone because the ship is adrift and there isn't enough food or power so most are still asleep. Give them resources to use or loose. The campaign is definitely sc fi horror/survival still and the building pressure between story events has them well on edge by the time shooting or contact occurs. I then give them some down time so it's not go go go and they can rest. It's still failing forward but they seem to be enjoying it.
@@midnightgreen8319 PDFs have been available for backers for a long time, physicals are shipping this month for wave 1 shipping. People who didn't back it should be open to get them soon I'd say. I'm not pleased with how long it took, but it's getting there in the end
I got mine today. 16/05/2024. The Kickstarter was funded in 04/02/2022 so it did take some time to arrive but that can happen now and again with Kickstarter. It’s like building a house, it’s never ready by the move in date. These days if a KS arrives at all it’s a good one! But yeah, your point is valid. It did take awhile. Hopefully it’s worth the wait!
2:46 - bro... you just described life 😭😝
Thanks for the vid! :D
No problem!!
14:00 You can die after loose the first wound, if you are really unlucky. Sucks but at the same time, keep the stakes high.
Greetings from the future, this just landed... lmao.
May 2024! It's good though
@@mateofantasma lmao ^^ just ordered mine, still in stasis.
Do you have a link for that character sheet?
4:35 Rule 3.1 ROLLING THE DICE from the book does a terrible job of explaining the D10 and rolling with one.
Prepping to run Echoes in the Graveyard soon. This came handy. Thanks
Absolutely!
Drats, they had to delay shipment to Q1 2023. The Kickstarter is looking good and we're almost there. I can't wait to get this into my hands.
That is indeed a bummer. Looking forward to getting mine as well!
Got yours yet? Still waiting on mine.
This wait is pretty ridiculous. They're very lucky they have a great game on their hands.
Got it now bros. What do you all think?

They just announced the finished product. Can't wait for it to release in 3 more years
I'm holding the Player's Survival Guide in my hand right now
I just received my corset today from the Kickstart is this the same one
Compared to the one that you're explaining?
seems like they're shipping it out. I'm supposed to get mine this week
Thanks for the overview
Okay, I received my early KS supporter deluxe set yesterday. So received 2 quarter of 2024. So about 2 years late but It is finally here!!
Got mine yesterday. It was a nice surprise as I hadn't been following and didn't realize it was in the post.
do you need dungeon master for this?
November of 2022.... man oh man
Here is it, DEcember 2023 and we're still hearing hearing about why it's not delivered.
Here in November 2023, I still await my deluxe box set. lol
Have faith! Progress is happening. We'll get 'em soon (tm).
Mine just arrived today :)
Mine did a couple days ago
BUT!!! The .pdfs are supposed to go out on Cyber Monday.
Woohoo!
Awesome!
You warn about the violence, but most RPGs are violent. Can you be more specific?

you can always assign advantage or disadvantage to your players based on the fiction

@@WorldofGameDesign awesome :) Thank you :)
In Mothership you even suck at things you're supposed to be good at which sucks.

Where is this game? Y'all are beyond late. Inexcusable!
Uh... You realize World of Game Design didn't design or publish the game, right? They're just doing a How to Play video.
@@circusmunky I was asking a general question. Where is this totally overdue game?
