I rewatch this video every time I go to make yellow rice just for comfort. I’ve seen it so many times over the years I can quote it😭 we love you chef zee!!
Totally Agree. No disrespect to other cooks and providers but I wanted my instructions from the source and you are authentic and make it simple. Love the extra.
Made this and I added pink beans to it and also half a pack of coconut milk powder. I followed the seasoning directions and cooking directions as posted and the results were perfect. I’ve never used the 1:1 ratio for cooking rice and this rice was perfectly fluffy ! I’ll definitely continue to cook my rice this way! I even put the foil as recommended.
This is by far the best yellow rice recipe on TH-cam. I was using the other packets wondering why my rice was more orange but you set me straight now my rice is beautiful yellow. Also no picky eaters here but i still use the yellow bell peppers. Love this recipe!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I just bought a 4 pack of all the Sazón Goya flavors and I'm so excited to make Columbian potato stew, yellow Spanish rice and Mexican red rice! Do you have any suggestions of what to use them for?!
I know the video has been posted awhile ago. But I want to say I used your tips for cooking the yellow rice. The cups and rice portions along with the aluminum foil to cover the pot and let it cook for 30 minutes on low flames. I haven't cooked rice in over 15 years. I was so nervous having to cook it for Thanksgiving day. I added my own extra ingredients however My yellow rice was a success it came out perfect. Everyone complimented my rice. Thank you so much.
I’ve watched this video so many times, figured I might as well comment since I love this recipe so much. Every time I make yellow rice I search this video up. Simple and so good. To make the rice yellow I’ve actually been using tumeric powder but everything else is the same as your recipe and I love it. Thanks for the recipe!
My picky eater son (who doesn't like onion/peppers) never liked yellow rice until it was served by a relative who added lots of butter and lemon to the standard Vigo or Conchita spanish yellow rice recipe. Lemon is the secret for many picky kids. I love Zee's recipe, which is more to my taste (I also add a little bit of quality cooking sherry for us adults). :)
Chef Zee!!!! I am in college out of state and can’t go home for long periods of time. Your recipes have helped me make the Dominican meals away from home! thank youuuu
Just made this and it was almost perfect! Seasining was perfect, I will add a little more water to it, maybe 1/2 cup more but other than that, loved it!
Thank you very much I make your Yellow rice and it was was delicious my mom like it my stepdad like it too you are the best Young women here keep it up
So, I've always made rice MY way and yesterday I decided to try it a different way... I only had yellow peppers left but I followed this recipe from start to finish and OMG I HAVE NEVER HAD YELLOW RICE COME OUT AS DELICIOUS AS IT DID. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Thank You so much for making this!!!! I see a lot of the recipes with tomato sauce and I needed one without. My daughter had her first Dominican rice the other day and have been asking for it since! I’m big on authentic Hispanic food (New Yorker here) and am so glad I can find them from you! New subscriber here!
I saw the suggestion for adding vinegar to this. My mother would add vino seco (dry wine vinegar) like Edmundo or similar from a Latin specialty grocer, but it would be like a small splash of it. Too much would make it bitter. Another suggestion that I know of that's used in arroz con pollo (yellow rice with chicken) is beer. Lighter beers like pilsners or Corona-style are better for this IMO. Thanks for the videos!
I couldn't be with someone who hates onions. If they're allergic, it's forgivable, but onions add flavor to EVERYTHING and it almost never tastes like onion.
Thank you so much ! I have a Dominican bf and this was the first time I made my rice like how he makes his … next time I’ll make it with the Sazon saffron because I only had the sazon culantro y tomate but it came out amazing !
I will never make yellow rice any other way ever again ! This recipe was so simple and the rice was so delicious. The Sazon with Azzafron really makes a difference. Thank you!
I’ve been obsessed with your videos for three days now. Where did you buy the large silver pots from? I can’t find any at Macy’s and I’m still using old pots gifted by my mom but love the ones presented in your videos, especially this one here.
Omg girl! I literally just went on TH-cam to find a yellow rice recipe and pow! Your new video shows up right in my subs. You were looking out for Me! Lol

It tastes good with basic long grain rice as well as basmati rice)). Thank you v v v v v much for sharing. Today it's with beans and meatloaf. Thank you tremendously. People you've to try this. @@user-vg8ez9cu6u youre allowing the rice to absorb water and puff up a lil bit so its not only going to cook faster but it'll come out separated instead of mushy& sticking together. Like your explanation on how to make yellow Spanish rice. I am thinking on how i can duplicate the different Goya rice flavors . This knocks off the yellow spanish rice one. Curious if you know how to do the rest of the goya rice flavors from scratch. As always wondered on how to mimick the flavored store brand rices from scratch. I minced the onion and garlic super fine like she advises in the video. I also sweated them out quite a bit before adding the seasonings. Everything else I followed exactly.
