I used a two pack glue/gorilla glue which holds the piece stabe BUT still getting the issue. My question is....the fitting that attaches to it rotates easily but is a bugger to get off...is yours in a fixed position or same?
Hi, yes, the fitting on my car was the same, it rotates easily but was very difficult to remove. However, with a bit of perseverance, I did get it to pull out, so I could wrap some PTFE tape around it and pop it back in for a tighter fit and it did fix my problem (code reset and stayed reset). Hi, It's been a few years since I did this job but I seem to remember that when I removed the small hose fitting from the larger air intake, there was some oil residue inside and that is quite normal. However, it shouldn't be leaking out of the fitting because that would suggest that there is a leak on the fitting. If it is, you can remove it, wrap some PTFE tape around it and push it back in, as per the "pinned" comment at the top of the comments page👆 That might stop the oil residue from escaping. Any idea what this could be? I've got the 1.5dci engine in the Note (2010), car is sluggish when accelerating hard, especially in 3rd gear. Red engine light then comes on and it won't let me rev it past 3000rpm. I've got these codes: P0380,P0235,P2263
@user-wf3ms3yn5v Hi I'm sure you have looked up the codes? but if not: The first one P0380 is a glow plug fault and unless you only get this problem when the car is cold, I would suggest it isn't the main problem. The second P0235 is an intake manifold pressure sensor that isn't seeing what it things it should (when compared to other sensors). and of course the third code P2263 is the topic of my video, which we know can be caused by a boost leak. So, under hard acceleration, the boost builds and if you have a cracked plastic pipe or split hose, then this is when it is most likely to show up. I would start by tracking all of the hoses and pipes from the turbo, through the intercooler and back to the intake manifold including every small hose or fitting that connects in. If you feel confident to do so (You have enough knowledge to know how to avoid moving parts or hot surfaces), you can have a friend repeatedly rev the car while you "feel" with your hands for a boost leak, I found a leak on a Mercedes just last week using this method. Hi Colin, Sorry for the very slow reply on this. Looks like you have been very proactive in trying to tackle the issue. You issue does sound very similar to the one I tackled. Just a couple of thoughts: It sounds like you have a leak on the "boost" side. The reason I say this is that under pressure (when going up hill) your turbo will be working hard and the boost pressure will be at the max. Regarding when cold: If you have a small crack, it will be bigger when cold and possibly expand (and close the gap) once hot. The problem could be anywhere on your hoses, or rigid pipes or on the intercooler from the turbo outlet to the engine intake. The intercooler is a potential problem area but thankfully wasn't an issue on the one I worked on. I have never tried this but I have heard that you can spray a soapy solution onto key areas and then have a fiend rev the engine, look for bubbles. @@andrewelkington4492 no probs! Hope the link / info helps you some and good luck getting it sorted!
How do you get it out! Can’t make mine move
Hi, Sorry for the slow reply, you may have finished the job now! If not: I'm not sure which part you are talking about. Could you please reply with the time stamp from the video (for example 1min 30sec) for the part you are stuck with and I will help if I can! Thanks, Phil
@@ReviveMyRide hi there it’s at 5:27 the connector you said was loose and the cause of your fault. I have the same fault code and this is the last thing for me to try
@@plebism Hi, yes, I remember now! There is a plastic fitting (that the red arrow is pointing too) and it pushes into the large L shaped hose. Mine was a bit loose and rotated easily, so I removed it, put some PTFE tape around it (to make it a tighter fit) and pushed in back in again. The plastic fitting is a bayonet type and it will literally pull out if you twist and tilt it as you are pulling. It's not exactly like this one but here is a picture similar to the small bayonet fitting to give you the idea: www.progrow.co.uk/product/hose-tail-connector/?attribute_pa_options=20mm-3-4ins-m-bsp-20mm-3-4-barbed&gclid=Cj0KCQjwppSEBhCGARIsANIs4p6fnA5brTA5tF8ExhaZYpdisBLrUWs2YoIhpwD-EWELCbAh7-oojtMaAniVEALw_wcB Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil
@@ReviveMyRide thanks man. I’ve tried as much as I dare with no luck. I’ve also tried wrapping electrical tape around the fitting to try and seal it but the fault still happens. Mine spins freely - booked into the garage in a week :/
@@plebism Sorry that the checks in the vid didn’t fix it for you! There are a lot of things that can cause this fault, some of them around the turbo and actuator. If you get a chance to feedback, would love to hear if the garage finds anything. Best of luck getting it sorted! Thanks, Phil
I know this video is old, but i am have the same problem on my 1.5 dci megane 3 2011. Basically sometimes when i oush harder the acceleration the is o loss of boost and the fault code appears on dashboard. On a diagnosis software i get the same code P2263.
Old video but the problem is still out there! The video covers loss of boost pressure, which can be hard to detect sometimes but if you go through the comments, some people have mentioned other things that they have done to fix it. Sorry you have got this issue, it's a shame because they are good cars and it can be tricky to fix (many different possible causes). Thanks, Phil
