    Maybe it's time to invest in a non hacked up extension cord?!

    I've got the non-self-sharpening version of that saw, along with several gas saws. This is my go to if I've got convenient power. Quiet, fast, and a real horse on muscleling through wood. One thing to be aware of with logs that size and that many...the bearing housing on the saw is plastic, and though I haven't had a problem with my saw, I've seen examples where the bearing pocket got hot enough to melt and cause misalignment. That's virtually unfixable. So give the saw a rest occasionally to cool down. The saw pulls a full 15+ amps too, so getting by with a janky cord is dangerous as well. Still much better than fighting with fuel, oil mix, and carb issues, plus you don't have to breathe the exhaust.

      There’s a lot of benefits to the electric saw, but it does have its limitations. As long as you understand those limitations and respect them it should work well

    Yea i typically keep an electric on hand in the wood yard for quick cuts or just to process smaller stuff. I can see how also having one for kids nap time is helpful too 😅. I remember when my daughter was still a baby and needed naps i went out to split(because that was much quieter than using the chainsaw) and suddenly my wife comes out to tell me she could literally feel it everytime i hit the wood(black locust). Whoopsy lol. So during nap time (since my wood pile was so close to the house) i just opted to do other stuff at nap time.
    Now its no big deal. we moved and the stacks further from the house, my daughter doesnt take naps, and i just have a better setup all around. Have a couple electrics i got for free i keep near by for quick stuff and my gas saws i break out when i have a bunch of large stuff lined up ready to go.

      A well rested baby is a happy baby, a happy baby is a happy wife. Do whatever I gotta do to get to that point. You understand…

    Have one. Great saw, pulls 9 amps. Its a hungry B. Be easy on pressure pushing down...PLASTIC CHEAP ASS GEARS. ALL IN ALL GOOD SAW. Go on line and order the drum gear, it's cheap enuff to buy several. Easy job to.

    Hey Elliott, maybe try a Ryobi cordless saw. They are not super expensive especially if you have a cache of batteries already. Otherwise check out a model that matches batteries you have. Husqvarna just came out with a one with a clutch. The problem is I don't have any husky batteries and that is were the money is.

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Main reason behind going corded is not having a mountain of charged batteries on hand…

    Electric chainsaw makes use in the garage a possibility. Not something you want to do all the time, BUT there is convenient power, lights and out of the weather.

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I certainly won’t be using it all the time, but it allows me to get work done during nap time. Better to get something done rather than nothing

    Harbor freight extension cord end? All the ones I have used are very loose holding the prongs. So bad that the new ones I had I threw in the garbage.

      I normally am working in the shop at nap time, but I don’t always have shop work to do and need to make myself useful at any free moment.

    Probably bad connection in that replaced connector. Electric saws are gonna make hight resistance areas heat up.

      More than likely the problem. I’m no electrician and I put that plug end on…

      @@EverythingElliott my mom told us to let them cry. It’s hard but over time they will figure it out. Schedule and consistency. It worked for us. But I understand that it’s not that simple and not everything works for everyone. Good luck and help as much as you can. Moms have it ruff
