Makita for me..😊
Great video and really good to see a lot of the top brands getting involved in this comparison.
I took the 8” bar/chain from that M18 hatchet and put it on my M12 hatchet and I love it in an 8” size. I think the M18 would work well with a 10” bar/chain myself!
I just picked up the m18 milwaukee. I freaking love it. I have a nice Echo gas chain saw but honestly... around the yard type stuff I can't get over how much I love the milwaukee... it's quiet, powerful, and fast. VERY easy to use and the auto oiler is KEY for me. I've had other saws where you have to oil the chain after so many uses and you don't realize how much time is wasted by doing that... Love the milwaukee! I enjoy gas powered tools but I feel like I'm slowly adapting to the battery powered ones and the sheer quietness of them is such a plus... and my neighbors aren't bitching about the noise..lol
Im surprised to see Husqvarna and Stihl don't have oilers.
I have Stihl and think manual oiling is great as the tool does not have oi on it anywhere. I did however notice that some people on YT oil it way too excessively. I use 3-4 drops after each battery charge, even though it can be oiled even less frequently.
Thanks for the great review! I keep the M18 in my vehicle for use when I go off road. I have a 12" bar and chain that I can swap to cut a larger limb or tree crossing the road. I already have Milwaukee batteries and charger, so I was able to just buy the bare tool for $245.
Nice to see some Pellenc products in comparison testing ! 😃👍
You should also test their top handle chainsaw, the Selion C21 HD !
Incredibly detailed review, thank you!!
I've got the Stihl one. Not anything special, but it lasts much longer than you indicated. Simply if you cut logs almost without stopping, the battery overheats very quickly and starts acting flat. Then you wait a bit and can get another that until it overheats again, after which you again wait a bit and get another that until it actually goes flat. So it can easily overheat at least three (often more) times faster than it actually discharges. But yeah, it is also very dependent on the condition of the chain and the type of wood. If you're cutting dry soft sticks, it does not overheat at all. BTW, I love it that it is oiled manually. Just a few drops after each charge. I haven't used the included bottle in two years.
Thanks for including all the major brands and a handsaw. Excellent tests.
The fact that the handsaw outperformed most of these toys says enough.
As a professional arborist I disapprove of the performance of stihl and husqvarna in these tests.
Makita performed mediocre and I would still stick to a handsaw or a fuel driven chainsaw for serious work.
I approve of the milwaukee.
Great video. I like the Milwaukee performance the best
i’ve got the Milwaukee for about at year. Works perfect, and I can really recommend. Pellenc is the top professional, but not so practical. The best for all day use (but who do that?). Great video
Sweet! Still considering one for the smaller in-tree pruning jobs...
Milwaukee blows the others away. Battery's last a LONG time. Won't regret
@@rathermelc bit too big/bulky tho. For pruning jobs battery life isnt an issue most of the time anyway
Thanks for making this. I wish the Dewalt pruning saw was in this comparison. I saw in another video that it outperformed the M18 Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee was the best by far you can actually use this tool as an arborist its professional unlike all the others the best by far!!
Hi guys love all your videos, they are all packed with plenty of information, Hope every has a nice day😊.
When doing the noise test, it probably isn’t the best idea to rest the saw on the table as any vibration will sound off the table itself.
Awesome video - some real surprises! Thanks for making this.
The sthil for me for small jobs
I was planning on getting the Stihl when I got paid on wedensday, but now I've seen that husqvarna I'm thinking twice
The Stihl might be more compact and easy to use (and has a belt holster available) but the husqvarna gets so much more runtime... at around the same price I'm not sure which to go for!
I love the chainsaw shows you do
Hi James & Josh Nice review that Pellenc impressive was tempted to get the 12 volt parkside saw in Lidl the other week 😀😀 Thanks again
Great video but do any of them have variable speed control/ can you feather the throttle like on a petrol saw??
I just bought the m18 hatchet today and yes, it has a very functional variable speed trigger. Very powerful as well.
A small note that you probably have not come across. I bought a Stihl Gta26, I bought two spare batteries. What I found out recently 02/12/23 is the Stihl batteries will no charge bellow freezing point. The charger LED just goes red and does nothing. Quite a surprise for German tools, where it freezes more than here in the UK.
Maybe to safe the battery? Lithium batteries really don’t like to be charged below freezing..
High quality Lithium car batteries have a heater in them..
it would have been cool to see the M12 Hatchet also in this test, see how it competes against his bigger brother
Great video, I liked that larger Milwaukee version. Quick question. I heard these types of small saws don't require a chainsaw license to use commercially due to the slower chain speeds, is that true?
Thanks mate, yeah great saw. I’m not sure about the licence side of things, but to my knowledge the PPE rules are relaxed, I would look into this before taking my advice though!
nice review, thanks Guys!
Thanks for the notification. Can't wait to watch the video. I'll be doing it straight away
Depending on what you are doing a Silky saw for small/medium wood very adaptable about £60/70 for a top job Zubat or £30 F180 folding saw, will last for years if used to manufactures guidelines. The folder will do 80-90% of most people’s requirements. The Zubat more of a pro tool. I have both and you can appreciate the quality compared to other copies. Perhaps a decent set of loppers too. If you are going for firewood or half a lot to do a Stihl or Husqy chainsaw with a decent maintained chain.
Complete review? How do you fill up oil. How do you adjuste the saw?
Who said complete?
Hello from France guys nd thanks you for the test.
Great work as Always ! Keep doing that
Hello guys great video love the reviews going to review anymore Kubota equipment?
It's not so much the hassle of manual oiling that killed the others for me, it's the lack of information. Eg how well do i have to oil it, how often, what happens if i don't, what purpose does the oil serve, etc? I've done a fair bit of digging around and found next to nothing.
Husqvarna have a quick video showing someone casually dabbing a few arbitrary blobs of oil around, and that's it. I'm not sure what purpose that serves, if anything. It doesn't look like it's penetrating enough to make much difference where most of the friction happens which i assume is with the bar, but that's the problem it's all a complete guess. Doesn't say anything about how often, or the different environments it's likely to get used in.
Apparently a badly oiled chain can snap? And that would be really dangerous?
I'm going to have to spend the extra on one with built in oiling because at least i know it works properly.
Because with manual oiling, i don't know if i'm doing it right, if i'm doing it often enough, and what the impact is if i get it wrong.
Finding the same problem, tried to look into the husqy aspire for me old fella but have found sweet fuck all
perfect timing as I was thinking of getting the Stihl GTA26
Awesome it’s a great little saw for the weight 👍🏼
@@MachineryNation Oh, I'd say 'dodged the bullet right there' XD
High prices in U.K. , Makita Australia doesn't show that DUC101 model as yet , only a couple of 12v versions but for my money I'd go for the 4.5" top handle 18v DUC122 which retails for $419 aud / £213 gbp which is for the kit , I already have some 18v Makita gear so I'd just get the skin for $265 / £135 .
The Husky shown here looks good value for money and was quite impressive in the wood for runtime , if I was in the market that would be on my short list for sure .
"High prices in U.K."
Welcome to Brexit 🤦♂
Im looking at getting the husqy aspire for the old fellas birthday, cant seem to find to many indepth videos though
@@alkaholic4848Have you been in a shop in the EU lately?
I spat my tea out at the price of the pellenc !
Great reviews guys. 👍
Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮
Saludos amigo rusos lo saluda su Compa el mexicano yo me gusta mucho Milwaukee 👍🇲🇽
Very good test video
Thank you.
I can't find the Alko available to buy anywhere :( (UK) The few places that sell it are all out of stock / back order.
I like them all an the way you two showed them was a great video so thank you for sharing them with us an keep up the great videos
Very interesting
For the price of the Milwaukee, I can get a stihl 170 and 024 and plenty of change for oil and petrol.......
I've used chainsaws for 30 years. I have one battery operated saw, and it's fine for pruning, nothing else.
Once you cut too big of branch, the battery shuts down.
Although I have used a stihl battery ( full size) chainsaw, and it was light and powerful and good for 20 minutes.
Petrol is the only option in my case. But it's horses for courses.
I do have my own gardening and grounds maintenance business so I am biased 🤣
Great channel. Great products
Always good to see and knows 👍
Great video, the automatic oiler was the game changer for me. I was basically looking for something to replace my loppers, so went with the Milwaukee M12 Hatchet! Very pleased with it so far. The M18 was a bit overkill, and as expensive as my 455 Rancher!😮
I can buy it for 150.00 dollars in the states and is obviously the best there by far.
@@TacticalThib. Lucky you, at the moment, in the UK, it's over £500 !
I think you would find it hard to justify the cost of the pelanic one. 1000 pounds is ridiculous for that you would be better off just buying 3 top handles
Surprised to not see the Worx here
The AL-KO probably stopped because the battery heat up due to the intense oak usage (which might not be the normal use case). I bet the battery was not empty and continued to run when cooled down.
Gent's, I'd like you to do a test on olive tree wood, as it's even more dense, than oak
No onboard oil tank would be a no for me, I’m to lazy to oil manually! If I win a T shirt, can I get one signed by you superstars 😁
Nicely done
Thanks mate 👍🏼
In the U.S Milwaukee is the most popular tool due to the power
brilliant video keep it up
Great video
Good product
3:26 Where would I b able to find tht oil bottle at?
Cool vid again,well done👍
milwaukee m18 all the way
Will buy another 2 makita tools for the price of Miluwakee! Also watch again the video that the guy start to cut 2 seconds later! Sorry for all of you and your money!😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@veselinaslavova2685hard to argue with that because Makita is a great tool brand.
Milwaukee 5.5ah battery, larger bar and chain than most of the others ,hardly a fair comparison but still a great bit of kit.
Looks brilliant but you could buy a lower end full sized saw for the price
Great video spoilt for choice really handy saws, i got a battery Saker Mini Chainsaw,4 Inch for my birthday and its really good, (Jesus wept so would you if you had nails in your hands )
i need a lightweight cordless to cut fire wood, pallets and larger tree growrh
I'm hoping ridgid will come out with a mini chain saw like these! I think they missed the mark with the electric pruning shear 😅
(AEG) in some markets
BABY CHAINSAWWWWWWWWWS!
Did you see the Cameo at the the end? 😂😂
@@MachineryNation LOL yup! She appreciated it!
"this comparison is incomplete"
Parkside's mini chainsaws are missing
PARKSIDE 12V PGHSA 12 B2 with 5 Amp battery
and the Parkside 20v PGHSA 20li A1 with the 8 Amp battery
Which in price/cutting speed are unbeatable in my opinion
Cool fun video cheers 😊
👍
Actually bought the mrs a cheapie off ebay unbranded but takes makita batteries very surprised at what it can do! Shes still here so must be safe!
Makita rules
Great vid 👍
thank you guys
The Pellanc that set-up such a pain in the @$$ ! Spend the money get the Milwaukee 👏👏
Can't beat a Silky
Geez now there's another red tool for me to buy now 😅
Haha 😂
21:50 you didn't say what was the capacity of the makita battery. Was it 3,4,5 or 6 amps ? very important
5ah
🤙🤙
You don't have the dewalt or M12, the only two I may buy.
Dewalt not in the U.K. yet and we have already compared the M12 👍🏼
Milwaukee is the best
Hi from Poland 🇵🇱
I personally don't see the point of these,I use a hand back cut pruning saw, silky and husqvarna.
Stihl haven't kept up with the competition
I’m sure they are developing something, but at the same time, the GTA 26 is a lovely little tool and certainly has its place in the market.
You are missing the best of all, the brand is called Batavia. Come back incl. Batavia to see the right results ...
this is the gadget for city dweller except the "pellenc" and "milwaukee"
I have ryobi and Milwaukee and use both professionally. Ryobi is surprisingly tough
❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Low
😂😂😂 thank you 👍🏼
😮 👀
Love your videos
Although
Clearly a lot of tool designers have never used a chain saw or trimmed trees. There is a reason saws should be relatively flat on the right (which means oiler cap on the left) Most people are right handed which means the right side of the tool is the tree or trim side (sorry lefties) I give a big fail to every tool with the hinged guard on the right (or any guard at all) Milwaukee clearly gets it. Looking at many of these tool I feel like they are catering to a dumbed down populaiton of tool users. (Yeah, I'm the guy that removes lawyer engineering from some of my tools and gas cans to make them easier and safer to use IMO) One more comment... I get why Stihl gave up on oilers, the only Stihl tool I own is a gas pole saw. I have to store it over a bucket to catch the leaking oil..🤣🤣🤣 Joking aside, the simplicity with no auto oiler makes the tool somewhat appealing to me. I was weaned on chainsaws with a manual oil pump. Damn they were heavy, glad I was younger with a big thumb.
the pelec should not be in contest because it dont have batterie only a cable to a batterie pack so it should be consficated too
I wouldn’t be looking at chainsaws videos think spelling lessons should be on the priority list.
@@stephenmuir1601 stop receiving trolling brexiteer
Price on that pellenc😱
Where's the dewalt it will smoke all of them I know it smokes the Milwaukee because I challenged my friend, who has m18 version
Not available in the UK yet.
Husqvarna the best
I would expect so but judging from this test it sucked, I'd prefer the handsaw!
NOOOOOOObaby chaisawsssssss
Hahahahah! You need one 🤩
How do
Pellenc isnt brand to laugh at, its profi tool. Sheers for vineyard are 2000 euros
Voltage of batteries please?
heres a problem my friend wants a bosch angle grinder with speed control but this option is only available on expensive model where you can buy a cheap product which is heavy the biggest annoyance is hardware store dont want to sell electric tools they are all selling cordles to me there complete rubbish and there for lazy users who cant be bothered to stick the plug in the socket
The cheaper saws were rubbish, they couldn’t beat a hand saw.
You guys are obviously being paid by the palinc its so obvious lmao 🤣 good job trying to sell it but the Milwaukee killed every test you could have pushed it harder in the soft wood and won the hard wood it was the only one able to get through the Branch, which all should have been able to cut!!! It was a little louder but it had the grunt. This was absolutely a no brainer the Milwaukee just did the absolutely best!
Not being paid by any of them mate. From our opinion, none of them won and none of them lost. We showed what they could do and it’s up to you which one you would choose.
The decibal test is completely irrelevant. They ain't two strokes.
