I also own the PX8 and the Pi8 and, in some cases, I actually prefer the sound of the Pi8. The PX8 can be a bit more spacious at times, but in every other aspect, the Pi8 are better! They are louder, cleaner, and have a more balanced sound.

@@JoeGillian0 oh…does B&O app stream music as well? Didn’t know that. The 32 bit isn’t related to loudness but clarity and detail. The loudness is from the dedicated amplifiers.
Returning to the PX8, I initially wanted to upgrade to the Beoplay H100 and was pleasantly surprised-although the price is outrageously high and not really justified. At least it offers features like Dolby Atmos, excellent noise cancellation, and transparency mode. The sound is also slightly better-clearer and more spacious than the PX8-but definitely not worth three times the price. After two months of use, I had issues with the headphones, and they had to be replaced three times. Eventually, I was left without a pair and decided to wait for the PX9 instead-hopefully, it won’t cost €1,499 and will actually work properly.
PX9 is looking to be a great one with the 32 bit audio connection that made its debut in the Pi8, plus hopefully, a refinement of the carbon cone. I hope BW has learnt the lesson from the PX and how fast it went on discount price to not just slap high price tag on it. They better make the PX9 worth every penny of its price.
In an interview, it was mentioned that something is planned for this year. A successor to the PX8 will definitely be released by Q4 at the latest, and I expect the price to be at least €799. Most likely, it will feature Dolby Atmos, a new Bluetooth codec, and improved sound. In the interview about the PI8, a Bowers & Wilkins engineer mentioned that they had already considered incorporating future technology-so they’ll probably implement it in the over-ear model.

This review is compact and detailed, I have the AirPods Pro for casual use like running errands etc….but I want something I can use while I’m home / long distance traveling and sound is a big deal for me I don’t really bother about ANC etcc, would the PXSe be a better option for me over the Bose ultra …plus i have this exact ruby red in my cart 🤣🤣🤣I love that color!!!!
Hmm, if you can find the PX8 at a discount price, that’s even better if you are heading for sound. Although the Px7 S2e is great for its discount price now.
Surprise me that a pair of earbuds sound better than headphones. Pi8 casing acts as a DAC is very clever. But I believe they are not using LDAC codec and therefore their sound quality will be downgraded.

I agree H100 is not.worth 3 times the price however they are very enjoyable and quite a delight to use during commuting and work

Ldac codec is old and very primitive, far worse than much more modern aptx family. No any comparison even.
