He's a class act. A funny Bastard and one of the most talented guys, I've ever heard. Plays like 6 instruments, sings and is a guy I'd like to meet before I die. Everybody has an opinion, but the guy deserves respect.
Nuno is always a great f***n guitar manic, one of my top five guitarists on the list. Great guitars the N lines. Never could afford one but always pick it up in the shops to run a few licks. As far as the opinion goes, here its all good news. FUCKN AWESOME MUSICIAN. Hairs always a key asset in the world of music. Lol all the way to the Pantene factory.
I don't see how the wood would make any difference in the sound when the guitar is plugged in. I might be wrong, but the sound that's coming out of the amp is just the electrical signal from the pickups made by the vibration of the string (or something like that). I don't really see where wood comes into the equation. I know that the sound resonates through the wood, but how can that have any influence on the magnetic field in the pickups, which is what produces the sound?
I've played guitar for 8-9 years actually. I've googled that and seen the lists of woods and tones, but I've yet to see any actual evidence of it having an effect on the tone coming through the pickups, as I explained. If you think I'm wrong, then could you please explain how the wood has any effect on the magnetic field and all the electric stuff?
His playing technique and rythm is incomparable, brilliant, etc.; but it's the sound coming from that particular N4 instrument that sets him apart from all others. I hope the original N4 is someday enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame even if Extreme is never inducted,
Hello. i know nothing about guitar playing and, please people, don't be mean about my ignorance, but given that so many of you get all technical in the comments about Nuno's songs, I thought I better ask: what is the difference between a solo and a riff? also how do you define Funk? I just like what Nuno does...
@codebabe I think you aimed your comment at the wrong person. Apart from being a Musical Phenom, I love Nuno's quick wit. Fidgity or not He is NEVER hard to watch.
Look at Suhr Guitars web page on tone wood. You're not hearing "magnetic fields." You're hearing the vibration of a string passing through that field. The string vibration is unquestionably impacted by the resonance of an instrument (play an acoustic with your arm resting on it, and then with your hand floating and note the tone change... that's from resonance.) And different wood resonates differently. It translates to a MASSIVE difference between tones. You will learn, young grasshopper.
WOW i'm shocked he didn't know what kind of wood his signature series guitar is made of... And yes tone does come from your fingers but the type of wood does make a BIG difference in the tone you get
I think he knew, he designed it for gods sake and "What wood do you want it made from" would surely have been a pretty early question in the process. I think Nuno like playing the dumb rockstar back then and not take himself too seriously.
When I was 19 y.o. I wanted to be him, but now, after 20 years I want to be like me. By the way he's still among my 3 favourite guitar players of all times.
I'm guessing your not a guitar player..... Yes the type of wood used to build a guitar makes a BIG difference in tone, sustain and price.... Take 30 seconds to Google "electric guitar woods" and you will see that I am 100% correct
Well, if that's true, then what's the point of the guitar even having a body at all? why not just a thin piece of metal bar shaped like a guitar with pickups suspended in the middle? Why even make a guitar out of wood? Go play three guitars with the same pickups through one amp with the same settings; one guitar made of alder, one made of mahogany, and another made of acrylic. Tell me there's no difference in tone.

@Eclectic1970 oh yeah that was aimed at the guy who said that he jokes too much out of nerves but i think he's funny!
@Eclectic1970 agreed, but at least over half his jokes are actually pretty funny.
