Verticalapproach I have to agree, I’ve been watching these videos for the last couple of weeks in no order whatsoever, one thing that comes across is Mischa and what an awesome instructor he is. He seems to be able to maintain the students confidence whilst keeping them relaxed in a high stress environment.
What a difference in the hovering between his first video and this one! In the first few videos, he was all over the place (much like I was when I tried hovering a buddy's helicopter :)), and now it's mostly rock solid! Also very interesting to see your emergency thinking demonstrated. Too bad I can't get low and slow in the airplanes I fly - Hard to hover-taxi with a stall speed of 65 kph, so I tend to stay as high as I can instead, to have some extra energy to spend if something goes wrong :).
With respect to your constant angle approach...the simple solution is just load the disk or in other words ask the aircraft to do what you need before you need it. Don't come ripping in committed to landing hoping to make your spot...🤦♂️ load disk early and if it feels wrong past translation fly away...if your angle of approach is what saved you then you where about a quarter mile behind the aircraft...or in other words it was flying you as opposed to you flying it...regardless its a good training exercise...forward and down. Also...don't orbit out of a hole lol
Harry Black well he doesn’t know it yet but he’s going solo today. He’s out firing up the helicopter right now so in the afternoons video you should see his first solo.
Im confused about the instrument training , hes a new student going for private? Or is he planning on going to commercial level with you, and your just mixing in some of the requirements for commercial while still at pvt level to break up training and help with better flying?i didn't do instrument till after getting pvt,so not sure if its something you guys do from experience teaching to help students move along quicker? good luck
goapebilly in Canada we go straight to commercial without having to do private first. Sam is working on his commercial license. He has a requirement for 10 hours of instrument training.
thanks didn't know that requirements were different there. Im sure u know here in states it goes pvt then either instrument or commercial then CFI etc if that's route u take. A lot of the requirements cross country, solo etc don't count all count towards commercial unless ur PIC,or have ur pvt. Cool to see instrument so early in hours flying, it really helps will more accurate headings etc. Just amazing areas and opportunities for such diverse flying there, unlike here on long island where I fly, other then experienced in congested and class B airspaces, everything is flat ,not mountains, valleys, stream flying or landing etc. Wish I could go back in time with 20/20 hind sight ,ur school looks amazing and covers so much
@@PilotYellow thanks and Good Morning Mischa - same as in Europe then, just asked because of the emphasis early on you put in instrument appreciation. By the way thought Sam handled the baulked/restricted power departures really well. Have a good day!
simply love that video! top instructor & top student pilot👍👍👍

This was great I'm learning so much from these!
Thank you for posting this, I'm learning a lot. My instructor always made me do constant angle approaches but I never knew WHY!!

Great Video Mischa, loving it!
That was intense!
Sam, compared to your first flight, you certainly are looking solid on that hoovering ability👍🚁🚁🚁🤯
Always give yourself options.
Would you post a preparatory lesson once before you go flying?

Another great video!
Looks like you're progressing really well.
So......When do you go for your first solo?
Harry Black not sure. Hey Mischa, when do I go solo???? :)

Pilot Yellow Yeeessss!!!! Such a moment in a pilots life.
Because of this training, I feel like I want to become one of your students after I have my private.

Hi Mischa, is single engine IR allowed in Canada in a suitable equipped helicopter? Cool using ForeFlight when under the hood especially with SynthViz
Jason R Wilkinson no it needs to be dual engine dual crew for IR here in Canada.

I gave the like button the old Hector Salamanca finger tap!🛎🛎🛎🙂
flying the helicopter is not worth the risk
Can you please elaborate?
Too Dangerous
Actually helicopters are quite safe, please provide detailed statistics and graphs
