Are the sequels equally optimized or is there a slightly easier entry point for beginners? The learning curve is steep, and the wr unreachable for this first game; but I enjoy the fable series and everyone keeps saying to run a game you like so you wont grow to hate it.

Theres Fable Anniversary, which is like a remade version released a few years ago, but it plays a bit differently from the original

One of my favourite speedrun history episode. I have no idea why it doesn’t have hundreds of thousands or even millions of views. Very well spoken speaker, and excellently described to allow the audience understand, unlike many other videos

I for one don't believe I could have picked a better game to start speedrunning than Fable. I've made so many friends in this now steadily growing community, and I couldn't be more proud of the acorn we planted for ourselves. A sincere thank you to everyone involved for making this video a reality.

Great documentary. I am not a runner but the history videos from summoning salt are always interesting and it's nice to see someone taking a take at non-nintendo games. I am so tired of all these marios and zeldas. Hope to see more ps1/2 games if you are into these games. PS: You defintely deserve more views, I would recommend to get a consistent choice in the title of your videos As I don't knew the difference between this video and the pokemon snap vid I just watched (one is shorter but thats about it). Anyway keep it up and I am looking forward to more :)
Thanks! It's a little hard to tell right now, but essentially we have two shows that we try and make. The Clip is supposed to be shorter and a little more comical. Speed Docs is supposed to be longer, a deeper look at the game, etc. We're still finding our voice, so over time the two seem more and more different!

I am here in the comments if anyone has questions. I wrote the load remover and previously played the game for a while.
1:are you planning to maybe pick up a new game to run and 2: how did you write the load remover? Just curious :)
@@spawner8478 Load remover is in C#. It involved using a lot of cheat engine to find the correct memory addresses for stuff I wanted to watch. It was made a lot easier by LiveSplits robust autosplitter support.
I ran Deus Ex after Fable, not currently running anything.
How long have you been writing C#?
@@novinnovations4026 I haven't spent very much time with it in general. It's basically Java-plus, but most shops still use Java due to its inertia.

Ill never forget getting fable for my 13th birthday. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. Fable 2 and 3 were such ass it was really a shame

Since I was a kid I would grip my controller weird and use lightning and rapidly move my right thumbstick left and right to repeatedly jump back and forth between two enemies. Rapidly increasing your combat multiplier and your will xp. Then using the potions.

Fable was one of my favourite games growing up, I still remember getting it on Christmas soon after it was released. This video gave me a serious nostalgia boner, I might have to go and replay it!

We're thinking about making a follow up video since there have been a lot of new records and new strats. We'll see though
Two things, the Bowerstone North early exploit is much easier if you do it with the trophy, it's less rng and precise. + I haven't tested the GY skip but you can 100% get past every door up until the tomb to Bargate, but simply clipping. I did it before doing any quest in the game.

Weak points :
•Some lengthy parts, like contender/record enumerations while repeating too much of the end sequence.
•General pace a bit too slow.
•Guest talks hard to understand (at least for non-native speaker). Anyways providing subs is better.
I tried to speedrun this game on XBOX about a decade ago when I was 14 and boy was I proud of beating the base game in 1h 45m which apparently was on better pace than some of these earliest runs I didnt even know about. Of course it was nowhere near as good as the modern runs.
Felt the same way about being able to become an adult in Ocarina of Time in less than 1 hour 30 minutes back when i was a kid. Pretty good pace for the time!

No, not really. There is no authority that pays people to get world records. However, in this modern age of TH-cam and Twitch, top runners of popular games generally make good money from people donating or subscribing
