Won't happen with the current crop of Corporate Democrats. Remember, the reason Thomas is there is the current president's shoving his confirmation through. Biden is the embodiment of the lesser of two bad choices.
If Thomas really did rely on the advice of his colleagues, then that means that other Justices are probably doing the same thing.
We need to dig deeper, not just focus on Thomas.

Bernie Sanders is such a smart, rational man who understands that we need to fix the foundational problems in our country in order for our country to thrive. I really enjoy listening to his logical voice of reason.

Though one criticism I do have of him is that he focuses a bit too much on the ideals and not enough on either the deeper philosophical justification or the technical details of how to best execute it.

Bernie is right. Many of us have to live the next 30+ years. We need balance, not extremism.

I am a cardiac hospital nurse and I worked 72 hours in two weeks, three 12 hour shifts a week for 5 years. In doing that, I was able to give more during work, it helped reduce the burnout we have all been facing the last few years, I didn't mind staying late to help the staff at shift change, for emergencies, and I would even stay late to educate patients when I had no time during the normal scheduled hours. I could do this because I had a better work-life balance. Shorter work weeks truly can promote better work outcomes. I highly support it and have seen the effects person.
well, 12 hour shifts seem to me a different extreme, perhaps a shorter work week, but still, less than ideal
But if there aren't enough medical staff to go around already, how can we shorten the workweek without drastically reducing supply (and thus increasing prices) even further?

We do, but the Republicons have vilified the real "hippies" from the 60's until people believe that all we did was smoke pot and listen to music. Anything we did or said was jumped on as "those violent hippies." Yeah - and who used live ammunition on the college campus and shot dead students at Kent State because they disagreed with them?!! Not all of us thought it was a fad and the backlash from the Republicons proves that it was not just a fad. We who were the hippies who followed the Beats and worked for civil rights for blacks and women and to get our fathers/mothers/sisters/brothers/nephews/nieces/daughters/sons/aunts/uncles/cousins/friends/ classmates HOME and out of a war that was and continued to be based on lies - even today!

Great interview. I have been following Sen. Sanders for over 30 years and always appreciate hearing from him. This was very informative to me and I was happy to hear more about the Pro Act.
Bernie sanders like President Biden are both "For the people". Biden may be older but he still is for the people and not afraid to stand up to the other side of the isle. He deserves a second term to finish the work he started, b4 the next president can remove and destroy what he has accomplished!

This. I had to look up his age again to see what it was. This man is 81 and is having intelligent conversations about AI and automation and their effects on people, jobs, and our economy. He seems like a very informed and knowledgeable person despite being older than Biden or Trump. Definitely someone who values what he's doing and fights for the common man.

The primary manipulation in South Carolina 2020 is a great example, and probably why we have Biden ‘24 today. Bernie can speak well think on his feet, which is not what the DNC wants. The whole tax/budget system and the Social Security/MCR trust fund will collapse as things are headed, even without AI trading worker’s income for billionaires fortunes.

I make just over $16/hour. At the start of the pandemic, I made $14/hour. Due to inflation, my effective spending power hasn’t really increased at all. My company has been cutting hours, and because I close all the time, I only get 37.5 hours a week. Most of my coworkers get 39. I can only afford to have a decent standard of living because I live with my mother. My rent is $200. I can’t afford to go to school. I am learning what I can about the profession I want during nights, but it seems ludicrous that I’ll be able to actually get a real education in the area.
My mom thinks I’m being a nihilist when I say that I don’t think that I’ll ever be able to afford a house. I’m being realistic about the trajectory of my generation’s prospects.

I work a 40 hr (4-10 Hrs a day) work week. I love it. A 3 day weekend does wonders for my mental state. A 32 hour work week would be GREAT if I got the same pay as a 40 Hr week.
I'm glad he touched on rent and housing prices as well, they're absolutely insane and ballooning without any reason beyond simple price gouging.

I really wanted this man to win. Either him or Elizabeth Warren. I'd generally prefer if younger candidates had a chance, but Bernie has exactly the energy and the progressive agenda the country needs. Really cool that he came on your show. That type of interaction with the younger generations is part of what makes him great.
Warren is a snake. She only talks the talk, just like Obama. Don't forget she happily jumped on the anti-Sanders, "Sanders is anti-women" narrative in 2020 and never apologized for it.
I liked both, too. Unfortunately, Bernie is too progressive for the republican *and* the current democratic party. 🙁 We want real change, but the democratic party doesn't really want to change its mostly centrist, corporates-focused ways (so in 2016, they really pushed for Hilary even though personally, so many I spoke to on both sides of the aisle said they liked Bernie but kept thinking nobody would vote for him so they didn't. Imagine if all those people voted based on what they really wanted.)

I have been watching Bernie for over fifty years, his story has not changed, he is straight as a. Di. I remember seeing.him dragged screaming and kicking in a March , for Martin Luther King. For human rights.
Bernie is not nearly as militant as he was in the 1980s. The videos can be found online. He changed after he got in the Senate and, especially, his two presidential runs. He's just too nice. He should have condemned Clyburn coming out of nowhere to endorse Biden in South Carolina, when Biden was on the verge of a fourth straight primary loss and falling out of the race. But he said nothing, Biden won in South Carolina, and the corporate media, which had been indifferent to Biden, latched on to Corn Pop as the "frontrunner" and "man of destiny".

We have a similar problem in the UK.
We have nationwide local elections next week, and the Conservative government has just made it mandatory to use photo ID to be able to vote.
On their list of acceptable ID, young people ID is not applicable, where the exact same ID is accepted for older people (who will presumably vote Conservative)
The corruption is tangible.
Requiring voter ID ensures that the same person can't vote numerous times under different names. It also prevents illegal aliens from voting.

I love Bernie! I Love the fact that he said he wouldn't speak for any Republican in the Senate. He just dismissed the question and moved on. He don't talk shit he just get shit done. He's the true voice of the working class in America

Bernie is a true patriot and warrior for justice for all not just the privileged class. He is the only political leader i trust implicitly. He is a humanist too & so glad he chairs the HELP committee since he is experienced in all areas involved.
its funny how people believe Trump, a Republican, from the pro-business party, a multi-billionaire - is a true patriot that has americans interests at heart. Its hilarious. The only thing I can see Republican voters getting from Trump is lower taxes, but most republican voters fail to recognize the slow threat of crumbling infrustructure. Since decay is slow, no one notices the crumbling infrustructure and recognize that maybe, paying taxes is a good thing.
